i have a new baby budgie at home and she never sang before...until i watched your video! :D Turns out she has an amazing and very strong voice!(: thank you so much :) -Lisa from Vienna (austria)
This video is a favorite of my Parakeet Rico's. He's 9 and looks and acts like a young man. He has a pretty good vocabulary and this video gets him going. Thanks for sharing!
Aww!! This video is so sweet. I play the whole thing through for my 3 Budgies and they absolutely love it! My bonded pair of Budgies are currently brooding their first clutch of eggs, and when they hear this playing in the background, they work together more and interact more with the eggs! Lol. The chicks are soon to hatch in just a few more days, but for now thank you for uploading this video of your lovely flock and rest in peace Olive & Fluff. :')
My parakeet is old and lost his buddy recently. Not sure about getting another parakeet because of his age. He has been so silent. I put this on and he just talks and chirps up a storm. Love this!
thanks for the videos my birds love listening to and watching ur birds :D my baby sky trys to interact n just sits by the computer screen chirping away its cute :D
awww they are so adorable. I have 2 budgies fred and babby and when they saw this video they went crazy over it. they were chattering away at the video so cute. everytime I open the budgies cage they get slightly scared to come out but when we encourage them to fly out with toys and treats they fly out and play with their toys.
My parents bought two blue Budgies today last year but one died by the time I came to live with them for a year, so it was just the small budgie by itself, I arrived on June 22nd and when it couldn't fly yet, it was like the fastest runner in the house eventually and it was adorable just seeing its small feet run around my dad and I. Over time it chose me to be its best friend. so whenever I walk by and it sees me, it jumps on its swing and calls me by saying a couple phrases or whistle a tune I taught it xD and goes crazy if I just ignore it lol If it is on the swing while it has seen me, it wants to be let out and flies straight towards my shoulder or literally a few times it flies around me and maybe goes to the bathroom mirror xD It only flies to my hand if I am holding its yellow bathtub then just washes itself whilst spraying my whole arm for about 5 minutes then it sits on the top of the cage for a while to dry off or flies around searching for a bathroom mirror or me. I am going back to the UK in May and I think it will miss me and I will miss it T-T I call it Jerry but everyone's name for it is bird xD
budgies love to be together with other birds.. so sometimes when they hear other birds on our phones, computers, etc. they will get excited and start chirping back!

They won't mate unless you put in a nesting box. Budgies kissing and feeding each other is normal behavior in budgies who are just friends. Be careful though, consider if you're ready to care for a baby bird.

i'm sorry for your loss.. i recently lost my baby budgie too... any ideas to what was wrong with her? if you can afford to take your budgies to a avian vet, it might put your mind at ease to whether they are ok.
my 2 budgies, that I have 2 months now, seem not to like eachother. is that possible? they never talk to eachother, and they're always quiet. pretty weird for a bird that's supposably a happy bird. dunno what to do.
Anne S. it can be possible.. but if they aren't fighting.. then they are fine. for being quiet... are they female? males tend vocalize a lot more. i leave a radio on for my flock because i find they can be too quiet if i don't .. (3 females, 1 male)
penguintastic they're male and female. but you're right, the male one does chirp more often than the female. he really tries to have a conversation sometimes, but she's sooo not interested. :DD and she's also a lot more scared of me than he is. :// but birds are so much fun.. once they get used to us humans hh. thank you for your reply. :o)
Love birds......too bad I can't have any. I wouldn't know how to take care of them. Also would also like to know how you can let them all free without having to clean up a lot of poop around the apartment??
well, i only let the birds out at certain times. i can not have them flying free 24/7 because we have cats & a dog. also, when they are out, they tend to hang out on top of their cage... so in all honesty, the poop isn't bad!
penguintastic Thank you for replying. Here I was thinking that the birds were perching everywhere. If I'm going to have birds one day, I would like to let them free once in a while & having them perch on my shoulder. Again thanks for the info. :-)
penguintastic I have a few friends with birds.....I'll start paying attention to what they do with them. But their birds are pretty big and I'm thinking I'd probably be overwhelmed with those. I really liked yours though. :-)
that's great that you can learn from your friends. in my opinion, the bigger the bird, the bigger the challenge. if you want a bird and it's your first time owning one.. you definitely want to start out with a small bird. the ones i have are called budgies, which are also more commonly known as parakeets. there are smaller birds too - such as finches and such. my aunt owned a few and they were fun to watch. cockatiels are a great first time bird too. my grandparents have had many over the years. they can be trained and quite lovely, just like budgies/parakeets. :)
When my bird (Kiwi) died, I decided to get my other bird a new budgie because she was was very traumatized, so I got her a Yellow budgie and im not sure if the budgie is male or female because he/she is young, because he/she has a pink cere. Is there another way to sex budgies?? If so, please help!
I love budgies, anyway who're looking for parakeet care. I suggest to buy a book name "The Complete Book Of Parakeet Care" by BARRON'S. My parakeet died two years ago, then I found this book and its really working! Try it out... :D
Some one please answer my budgies (2) are still not tamed and are still scared but if I let them out how do I get them back in? Should I even do it? I don't wanna keep them in there cages for a long time
just let them out and when you want them to go back block their favorite place to sit in the room they will eventually get bord and hungry and go back in the cage then close it.
It may take some time but budgies can be tamed to be able to be held, pet, and played with! They are social birds but taming may take patience and time but it's worth it in the end! I must say finches aren't the best birds to interact with. You can also buy a budgie hand-tamed but they are much harder to find and more expensive! Plus taming is a fun, bonding routine! When u first get ur budgie keep them in the cage and let them settle in for a few days or weeks until they don't mine people's presence in the room. Then you can start putting ur hand in the cage until your budgie is used to it. Next start putting ur hand in with feed on it until they're used to eating from ur hand, and finally u can attempt to get them to step onto ur finger by pushing it gently up against their breast. Once they're on your finger carry them to different rooms talking softly. This all takes time but it's very rewarding indeed! I would suggest having the wings clipped during the taming process.
I would have the wings clipped so they don't fly away! Don't worry though, all the feathers will grow back come their next molt and they'll be able to take flight again!
A lot of birds have their wings clipped, my bird doesn't but if the bird is at risk of flying away or often flies to unreachable places there really is no other choice. Talking to a budgie does not tame it and it is almost impossible to tame a budgie that keeps flying away. Not only that but most budgies or other larger breeds of birds already come with their wings clipped, even aviary's clip their bird's wings. Many birds with clipped wings still live a happy, loving life and love their owners unconditionally. Clipping a bird's wings does not affect the bird's happiness and ability to bond. They can climb and still fly short distances or fly again once their feathers grow back, the time they can't fly can be spent bonding and taming. How can you tame a bird that constantly flies away?
I can watch them and listen to them all day! You must also love budgies as much as I do :)
i have a soft spot for BUDGIE :D i guess i did watch this after my budgie dyed so im remembering all the good times we had T-T

+Sweetie Senpai lol! that's awesome
+penguintastic Excuse me sir but are budgies scared of humans or human contact?
They aren't if you tame them. Mine used to be scared of me but they're beginning to trust me and go on my finger.

actually, pixie does like olive.. but as you can see, olive has his hands, er wings full. lol.

Color of the Cere (skin area around nostrils) ultra violet signature (budgies can see in ultra violet and the combination of throat "spots" reflect ultra violet light in a unique way for each bird).
A male parakeet always has a blue cere. the female has a white cere. That is the spot above nose, or nostrils.
Qwan Tsing females also have brown cere
a female's cere turns brown when she is in condition
I love birds
Please get a bigger cage if you can (if you still have them) cages like these are way too small for any bird and are only okay as a travel cage or in some circumstances as a quarantine cage.

for being quiet... are they female? males tend vocalize a lot more. i leave a radio on for my flock because i find they can be too quiet if i don't ..
Anne S. you just pretty much described the male & female differences of budgies. ;) & no problem - i never mind answering a question or 2! :D
Hi.... just wondering where did u get your bird cage??
the link is in the description
Beautiful
no problem! never hurts to ask questions! :D hope to hear about a new birdy friend in the future! :)
penguintastic I have a few friends with birds.....I'll start paying attention to what they do with them.
penguintastic one of my budgies passed away which is a female it was a bird which I kept for bout 2 years I cried so muchhhh
so sorry for your loss! :( i lost 2 of the birds in this video.. it was very heartbreaking.
I just got a budgie today she's 8 months old I was wondering how long should I wait before training!!
i'd say give her a couple of days to a week to get used to her surroundings.. and slowly get her used to you.. then start training. :)
How is it going?
Good thanks! :)
When my bird (Kiwi) died, I decided to get my other bird a new budgie because she was was very traumatized, so I got her a Yellow budgie and im not sure if the budgie is male or female because he/she is young, because he/she has a pink cere. Is there another way to sex budgies?? If so, please help!
can you upload a video and i can help you out? :)
+penguintastic ok I will when I can! 🤗
+penguintastic I just uploaded the video! Check it out to help me!! ;)
what are the size dimensions of the big and small cages?
The big cage is 30x18x36in
I love budgies, anyway who're looking for parakeet care. I suggest to buy a book name "The Complete Book Of Parakeet Care" by BARRON'S. My parakeet died two years ago, then I found this book and its really working! Try it out... :D
thanks for the suggestion :) and sorry about your bird..
Some one please answer my budgies (2) are still not tamed and are still scared but if I let them out how do I get them back in? Should I even do it? I don't wanna keep them in there cages for a long time
I did that from the very beginning when my budgie wasn´t tamed either. If they get hungry or thirsty, they will get back in the cage, no worries.
just let them out and when you want them to go back block their favorite place to sit in the room they will eventually get bord and hungry and go back in the cage then close it.
I have a quiston how many parakeets do u have?
arrowfence4 in this video i had 6... now i only have 4.
i just got a new budgie around 3 days ago thanks for all the advice, i havent subsribed yet sorry.
so sorry to listen this
are budgies scared of being touched? i have a pair of finches who are terrified of us and i just want a fluffy bird to touch :*
+hassan nassar yes of course . but if you tamed him he wont be anymore
Clipping a birds wings is a horrible thing to do. If you can´t tame a budgie the humane, right way, you shouldn´t have bought one in the first place.
How do you get them back in the cage after the outing?
I had trained a few of them by saying "go home" and the rest would usually follow them back in the cage. If they didn't, I would just pick them up.
i had a dream of having a budgie
thanks
There's So Cute :D
thanks :)
