The freakiest thing for me as a kid was the way Moleworld 2 opened. Being a kid from Britain, our copy of Escape from Mars ran at 50hz so it ran slower than this version. The sinister music of Moleworld 2 blared at me with the black screen, and then opened to reveal a giant tunnel boring machine with the screen shaking and everything... Jeez, I was terrified of this stage; the only one I had to ask my brother to play instead of me cause that machine freaked me the hell out. It's a tough level too. The obstacles are hard to avoid without getting hit, but you can't slow down to think cause you just know that monster is right behind you.
Wait. I remember this game being so hard but I see you just jump jump jump spin... Doesn't look that hard lol. I remember my friend saying he could finish this in less than 45 mins. I never believed him lol.
Couldnt beat it as a kid but i always loved the sound effects and music i could just listen to this in the background and i finally got to see the end great speed run!
Please tell me this was tool assisted... I just played through this with save states, and it still made me want to kill myself... It's actually a pretty good game, but holy hell is it frustrating...
I never got past the 3rd level in Haunted Mansion. But I was 10 at the time soooo. Man this was a memorable game tho. Both super fun and super annoying. Really enjoyed seeing the last levels! ^_^
7:27 for some reason, I just can’t seem to get past this one bit as you’re supposed to jump up and drill through the Earth, but whenever I try to jump and roll through the Earth it never works. It’s almost as if there’s either a glitch in the game itself or a glitch with my controller, I just can’t understand it and I’ve looked at the manual and everything that you’re supposed to do.
I just played this again for the first time in almost 30 years and ran into this problem as well. Now I got it to work most of the time. I press up while jumping and don't hit the spin until Taz is basically touching the dirt, but keep holding up on the d pad because I think the game needs to detect the direction you want to drill before Taz will actually go into the dirt and start drilling. Try practicing it on a spot where there are no threats around. I first ran into the problem when I was running from the giant drilling machine and kept dying because I couldn't get through the dirt above me.
My brother and I played this game when we were kids. This was so surreal to see these game mechanics, bestiary, and settings again. I sincerely appreciate this upload.
I owned this as a kid. no clue where I got it, so I'm assuming it was maybe some kind of trade one of my brothers did in school. It was fun. I also had Road runner for SNES. This game was fun because it let you be Taz- just spinning and smashing through walls. It was an unlimited ability because that's what Taz does. In Roadrunner, you had a gauge that ran out in seconds and it represented your ability to run fast.
Man, my dumb young self couldn’t quite figure out how to beat the haunted castle boss. Didn’t realise how close to the end I was. Lols. Also: when you kill an enemy it sounds like “butthole”. 🤓
Thanks for watching! More of my walkthroughs are here: ua-cam.com/play/PL_cKTOORd7MRBpxLTGPU3QT_OIdyAhTyd.html
This game was impossiblr to beat
feel proud of myself for finishing it when i was younger then.
No
Yes it was a pain in da bu tt!!! Thk u man thought was da only one...
Because it has the same problem of many licenced games of that era, cheap enemy placement.
Toughie
Holy crap. This came out when I was little. I was way too young to play a game this hard.
Ahh the nostalgia! played this game all the time and sonic the hedgehog, good times (:
Dude it was sonic this and mortal combat for my family.
We had the same childhood
These were the two games I played at my babysitters too!
Ah, the memories.
this game looks way, way better than it needed to be.
This game is tough to beat and the first taz mania on the genesis/megadrive wasn't easy but this one is even harder
The art work in this game was so damn impressive for the time. Especially the space levels? The designs were so good.
It’s still impressive
Not really? Especially considering Earthworm Jim came out roughly at the same time.
The level design is the exact opposite.
Reminds me of Rocket Knight Adventures
@@fuckoffwiththehandles There was also Boogerman.
It wasn't until just now I remembered/realised how afraid I was of this as a 5/6 year old. I only played it on my "brave days"
manning0 meee too!! Omg 😂😪

It was that horrific snail boss monstrosity that did it for me.
@@TaylorZanderFrancis this is my experience too! 8 year old me never passed the boring machine as the sense of peril made me lose all coordination
So many memories I used to play this game when I was a child in1996 or 1997 Sega was the shit back then 💯🔥
Where does the time go Mano?
The first boss looks straight out of Super Metroid instead of Looney Tunes lol
This was the first game i played when I got sega channel in 95 for Christmas.... fuck. I feel old.
So let me get this straight, he’s trying to escape from mars….yet Taz ends up in Mexico whilst escaping?
Goddamn! Look at all this blast processing!!!
VROOOOOOOOOOM! VZZZZZZZZZZZHHH!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
So Taz escapes Mars to get back to earth gets to earth then goes back to Mars so he can defeat Marvin and take his ship so he can go back to earth
Rugged Warrior He needs to go back to his homeland, since he's on the lamb.
Since when has Taz been known for his intelligence?
Lol yea, i was like wait, maybe he doesnt know mexico is on earth, i mean they were all gun shooting rats, so cant blame him. Lol
Yeah felt that was baffling too
Wait. I remember this game being so hard but I see you just jump jump jump spin... Doesn't look that hard lol. I remember my friend saying he could finish this in less than 45 mins. I never believed him lol.
The Genesis had so many great games.
This takes me back.
Wow that hit me hard. Cool to see the ending finally lol
Strange how Marvin was the quickest boss for you to defeat when he was always the hardest for me.
That happens. The final boss in Vectorman can be defeated with just two double-jumps. =D
I never gotten to beat this game. I went pretty damn far, but could only play for so long.
On my real Mega Drive I only managed to get to the last level with lasers and gravity. Never battled the final boss. :c
:O
I vaguely remember some of these dungeons. I remember the mole place, especially that big machine.
@@JohnBrain93 I got stuck on the last level for a while, eventually managed to reach the final boss.
Couldnt beat it as a kid but i always loved the sound effects and music i could just listen to this in the background and i finally got to see the end great speed run!
Remember
I remember this game used to piss me off haha
Please tell me this was tool assisted... I just played through this with save states, and it still made me want to kill myself... It's actually a pretty good game, but holy hell is it frustrating...
Couldn't get past the first level as a kid and it looks just as miserable almost 30 years later lol
thx for posting this, i had a nostalgia need to quench.
You're welcome.~
This game was such an improvement over Taz-Mania, loved both but this one was more challenging yet so good. Could never get to the final level.

i could never get past mole world
I didnt even know there were levels after the first boss cos that's how far I'd get as a child 🤣
Damn this is crazy! Just booted it up again but couldn't get past the planet x boss 😵 this game is so damn hard
Man. This video is really clean. Playstyle, speed.. all that. Also, how the hell is this in high def? lmao

Am I the only one that's getting Phantasy Star vibes from the first half of this game, and not just because it's sci-fi?
Dead ass bout to watch this I couldn't pass the dirt level as a child
This would be interesting if it was a cartoon.Would anyone agree.
I remember making it to mole world and dying because while eating the exit sign, the stupid machine would kill me
I could never make it past the first mexico stage
This game used to scare me sometimes but id still play the crap out of it😂 such nostalgia i love it!!
First game I beat as a kid before my older brother could. He was so mad. 😂
I never got past Planet X. I never knew about the umbrella
You can clearly tell that Headgame Inc. just wanted to get this game over with so that they continue development on X-Men 2: Clone Wars.

Ugh, da hard childhood memories I've had with this game boy oh boy. I never did get past the mole world to Planet X. LoL
Wow! That was a bit of a speedrun. And it's kinda weird how you bypassed most of the good items.
Man this and that tiny toons Busters hidden treasure had me stuck on the Sega.
Big nostalgia!
6:41 I could never get past this area😣
music has tim burton vibes
is it to me or my game music was like on 0,75 speed? I exactly remember everything on that speed!
That means you had the PAL version, pal. This is NTSC version, it is played at 60 fps, while PAL has a slower framerate and music.
@@JohnBrain93 wow, really? Thank you! Never knew that!
I still enjoyed this
