Scott thinks birthdays are for children and teenagers, but has now reached the point where he doesn’t care about his anymore. Mark Jones believes birthdays matter more to women than men. Female here... 57, going to be 58 this month. While I am very grateful to see another birthday, I dont want a big deal made of it. I hate being the center of attention
52 years old and just watched Stoned, the After School Special, hadn't seen it since 1980, commercials from back then as well, much better time to be in America.
51 and I loved those old shows. I found the school bus boxed set years ago and binge-watched. More recently showed some of them to my daughter. She absolutely loved the first one (Hammerman's After You) 😆

Thank you, Scott. I mark time by my late brother's birthday. Every year since since 2017, I think about what he's missed...what we've missed. On my own birthday, there's always at least a momentary wash of grief. I think about all of the years ahead without him.
Not true! I’m a woman I never cared about my birthday. I feel like it’s mine and why should everyone be obligated to celebrate it. As a mother I do love celebrating my children’s birthdays.

I think a lady always wants to be remembered on their special day...even if it is just a card and for their man to say Happy Birthday! I keep a lot of family and friends' birthdays on the calendar, and I am a big card sender. I love knowing that I can make someone feel special on their Birthday. Scott, you aren't that old yet. Why do ya think myself and other women my age are still watching?? Lol 😄

Celebrate your days. , they're beautiful. If you're not feeling well, and your back is hurting, find out why it's hurting and make it better. Gosh, Scott, I'm older than you and if I had your thoughts I would have been 6 foot under already. My mom, who's in her late 80s, smokes a pack a day, drives herself around, and is at this moment, moving her furniture around. No, I'm definitely not partying every day, because I just don't want to. So I get that. Ones birthday, to me, is a celebration for you, your Mom , Dad, and God. Yeah, it took all that to get you here! Lol. My mother's birthday is Dec 27 - it is SO INGRAINED in me to celebrate her birthday independent of anything Christmasy and to NEVER combine it with Christmas day.
As I've gotten older, my birthday is no longer a big deal to me. It's seems like just another day. Although, I will treat myself to a steak dinner out. I don't miss work on my birthday...if it doesn't fall on my day off.
I feel the same way about New Years Day. I got the same problems on January 1st I had on December 31st.

Just a thought about birthdays- I know a couple people who celebrate their deceased child’s birthday every year. They died as an adult. I always wonder if I would want to do that.
As a woman, I dispell your theory on birthdays as I don't like a big deal made or gifts.

Celebrating birthdays. Whatever you want. It’s your birthday. Just don’t shame me for not getting excited because it’s your 52nd. I think social media has had an effect on this need as well. Celebrate as you wish. Just don’t make such a big deal about it.

..now 65 (i think) f-k if i know or care off top of my head. 😂 birthday in December and didnf mind a bit when my brother gave me one gift to cover bday an Christmas. He let me choose when to open it. I tore it open right away. As a teen i sported a white gold ring, didnt want people to think it weird my brother gave it so "oh Michael Jackson gave me that". Many actually fell for it 😂

Ok, so here's my take on this topic. Aside from the pomp and circumstance of balloons, cake, and gift, everyone has value as a person in one way or another. Has the person or persons having a birthday contributed positively to your life or family members' lives in some way? Have they made a positive difference in your life in some way? Then, they should be acknowledged or celebrated in some way large or small. If that person had not been born, how would your life now. We take too many things for granted now at days. People and their value and positive contributions, should not be one of them.
Hey party pooper Scott, we celebrate birthdays to celebrate the day you entered the world. That is a big deal, right??? Is that celebrations enough.??? Hey aren’t you lucky you are able to celebrate 61 birthdays as opposed to someone to only have celebrated 5 birthdays on earth. Enjoy 🎉🎂🍾🎈🥳

Who wants to live into their 90s anymore....the way this world is, the way this country is? No thanks! I laugh at people who say things like, "I'd love to be 30 again". I would NOT want to be around for another 40 or so years.
