So many listeners have expressed being moved upon listening to this song. Actually, the reason for that is NOT the movie story itself. John Barry wrote the song in grief after his father's passing away.

Harp n harpist are very rare ini the world recently music era.. it's not easy to play, eventhough to learn this 'unique' instrument.. nice performance... Bravo...
Because of a childhood dream, I am now playing the harp! It's magical! Wish I did this years ago.
UPDATE: And now that I've been playing the harp for a few months, let me tell you....the violin is SO MUCH easier. (Ok, I've played the violin since I was in 5th grade.). But I love the harp. But OMG.....it is so hard.
I play a "lever harp", which is different than a pedal harp, which is featured in they video. I always thought that I'd want a pedal harp. Not so sure now. :)
Update!!! After playing harp for a year...YES! I want to play a pedal harp. But I lost my job, and willl have to return my rental lever harp. I am devistated. I have come a long way, according to my teacher. But who cares about an adult pursuing their dreams? They only care about kids (who are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO ME!!!!). But anyway, my dream of playing the harp began a year ago, and will end soon because I cannot find a job due to my age. :( I have been playing mucic since I was a kid. Piano, violin....and harp. :(

Amazing, here I sit in the dead of winter, snow on the ground, its bitter cold in Michigan and just a couple of hundred miles from Mackinaw Island where they filmed the movie Somewhere In Time and this beautiful music transports me not only to Mackinaw but also to a wonderful time when my family still lived and life was warm and full of color. Incredible I see only two musical instruments - but when played so beautifully by the two of you, they become a powerful medium that takes me to a most pleasant place again. I thank you.
