- Lockheed Martin unveiled a captivating aircraft that captured the curiosity of many: a cutting-edge, enigmatic aircraft with an unidentified, visibly manned design. The Fighter jet in question could be Lockheed Martin's NGAD (Next Generation Air Dominance) design or associated with a different classified initiative.
Lockheed Martin's 6th-gen design shares similarities with its previous designs regarding planform and shape. It features a tailless design, considered optimal for achieving high stealth levels. The wing platform takes on a diamond shape, with straight leading and trailing edges.
The fuselage houses the engines entirely, and their location is marked by two bulges on the upper part of the fuselage. Like many stealth designs, the exhaust is situated on the upper portion of the rear fuselage, effectively concealing the infrared emissions from the distinctive two-dimensional diamond-shaped nozzles. - Наука та технологія
Lockheed identified the perfect stealth shape decades ago. They labeled it "The Hopeless Diamond". They struggled with the basic design. Lockheed purchased a completed study from a Russian who was unable to convince the Soviet hierarchy of its value. The F-117 was the result. Producing a hypersonic "Hopeless Diamond" is proving to be very difficult.
That design was made before using computers, it’s not the perfect shape. Why it’s not used by any modern aircraft. Really good, far from perfect.

This doctrine of NGAD is severely flawed. Stealth remains useful. However: 1)- Speed of the aircraft is irrelevant >subsonic. Because the weapon is speed of Light. 2)- Incorporating system wide AI to control the craft is a Deal Breaker. Someone IS out there w/ the skillz to code a kill switch. And won't be a thing that can stop it.

I was wondering how long it was going to take for unmanned aircraft to start assisting manned aircraft. Seems like that should already be a thing.

The F-35 already has some of these capabilities in the real world. It rolls into a zone with other American assets or Allies. And it instantly links up. And has a God’s Eye View of the Battlefield. the benchmark for the 6th gen is to replace the role of the f22 while basically upgrading the 22 systems to the more current systems. But its being developed from the ground up to match or beat the 22s stealth and have the ability to link into the hivemind as well, but its main goal is to replace the 22 as the air superiority fighter and stay ahead of china russia and the rest of the world despite the fact nothing compares to the 35 currently...

These drones would be capable of g forces well in excess of the 9 g limit of the human pilot. The f-16 can take a g load in excess of 20 without the pilot. Think of a dogfight of a drone with a SU-57. All of the SU's fancy vector thrust is useless against a drone that can over g it significantly in a dogfight.

If they are talking about it, it's been flying around for a few years already. The J-20 and SU-57 would be doing well to shoot down a F-16 imo
Can it intercept a hypersonic threat or missile. The F35 has "speed restrictions" as well cannot fly through a lightning storm....All of the NAVY aircraft can't fly Mach 2.0+ any more...
