I grew up in Ocean City and graduated from high school there and yeah we hung out on the boardwalk but we NEVER caused this kind of trouble!

There are more people and teen,s not picking any certain groupe but where I live the child and teens run wildvthatschow there parents raise there children I have talk to them and a lot of illegals the one,s that cam in the right way are polite we really need to take them back to there country before they destroy ours we help them in there countries and it they won't to come to America I am ok with it but the right way buy the rules and law its for every ones safiylty do you really belivevthey where allowed in for no reason at all really the elite won't to lower the population so let;s create a race war or looting and gang;s stealing it influences our children to wake up over 2 million and alot where dumped in Florida
That’s great I grew up in OC too and know this is just rich people and Karen’s complaining about nothing that’s going to end with teens getting harassed by our asshole police that aren’t even from the town.

None of this footage shows the "crazeeeee teens" doing anything other than hanging out on the beach, and maybe, gasp, jaywalking. The news team was smart to specifically talk about "concerns for property damage" because from this report there doesn't seem to be any.
How else should these soon-to-be adults (if they're senior week kids, at least 50% are 18 years old) spend their time and where should they bring doing it?
My family are year round residents of ocean City nj. My brother jaywalked in front of a cop one time, and the cop replied 'next time, think of a better crime'

Telling people to ''wake up'' isn't really conducive to attracting people to your cause.
Same thing is happening in Ocean City Maryland. It's getting to the point where we have 15-20 teenagers loitering outside residential beach properties late into the night, well outside of downtown. Nobody is keeping tabs on their kids, and they bad mouth back when property owners ask them to move on or keep the noise down

Each generation wants their kids to have a better life than they did. More indulgences, more rights, more anything goes. I was going to go to the beach but I'll spend my money right at home and enjoy myself more.
One clip doesn't show the whole picture, but here I see none being unruly. No guns, no jumping on police cars. Some crowds are worse than others. I'm sure these grown ups commenting would've been there too if they were younger, and social media was around. Enjoy!

Exactly and to be fair OC is a dry town. There is no bars or headshops like wildwood or AC but this is nothing new with kids having fun on the boardwalk to start the summer. This story is bullshit

Me and my husband went to OC MD and this Friday we’re going to OC NJ. I loved MD and there was no teens displaying bad behavior and I hope there’s none in NJ. However we leave at dusk to avoid these types of things.

Teens need to act like real adults
Last year Avalon dropped a curfew on these teens. The 7 mile pearl clutchers were freaking out about the rowdy, some affluent, teens running amok. As far as I know, Sea Isle didn't do a curfew when the teens swarmed but they upped the patrols big time. I'm sure OCNJ will figure this out although the rides make that town even a little more appealing so the teen crowds are a bit larger than those of Avalon and Sea Isle.
The real answer is Wildwood. They should be redirected to Wildwood. Wildwood is experienced, well spaced and equipped to handle this nonsense. 😉
If they underage then charge the parents for not checking where their kids are and what they are doing ….
Ocean City used to be a dry town the college kids would party in Sommers Point.
It is still a dry town but these kids are bringing the booze in by the truck loads plus you have the drugs too

Its the same here in Ocean City, MD. The teens have no respect for anyone. If you drive on coastal highway at night, they just dart out in the street and dont care if traffic is coming. You constantly have to be on the look out, which is difficult in the dark alone. When they are down for senior week, they act like they own the place. Its definitely not what it used to be when we grew up. Sad.

Yeah as long as they're respectful of property, this is a tradition. This was always a great way for kids from Millville and Vineland HS to mix with kids from Mainland Reg, Egg Harbor and Absegami HS, for example. Then you sprinkle in kids from Washington Township, Cherry Hill and so forth. A melting pot of teen hormones!

Greetings from Ocean City, Maryland. I'm sorry to see this happening in OC, NJ which I've always thought of as family-friendly. This problem is increasing here in Maryland as well. More police and tougher enforcement can only go so far. The other issue is that American teenagers have no jobs, they don't want to work, they have no morals or responsibilities. And where are the parents?
The Pennsylvania tourists. It’s almost always the Pennsylvania tourists. I’m from Salisbury and worked in oc for several years. It’s almost always them who come in and destroy the place and start fights and think they can do whatever they want because they’re on vacation. Much more so than the people from Jersey/NY/Baltimore areas

The parents lost control years ago. Today there isn't any punishment that can actually stick. What do you suggest that parents do? Take away a phone? Friends have extra phones at school they share. Take away car keys? Friends have cars. Don't give them money. Guess what, Friends have credit cards. Take a switch and beat their ass? Guess what the call the cops and report abuse. Sooooooo where are the parents? Oh parents are around.... Parents just don't have any control any more. Soooo what do you suggest?
@@venomdrop4583 Those are all great questions that we need to be having. I don't mind if kids gather on the beach or boardwalk in groups if they are being civil. But the questions you ask are all legitimate. What do we do with millions and millions of young people who have no desire to work and no manners, who feel entitled and have been raised to think they are special? No law is going to change that culture or suddenly make parents be parents again instead of being their kids' friends.

I was there Memorial Day Weekend and the people were packed at the beach because I threw a banger at 11th street beach and some folks turned up the music.

Lol hike up the hotel costs.....where are they staying ? Teenagers can't afford that much. Make most of the hotels 21 and up. Would solve a lot of issues . Those kids are renting or sleeping somewhere. Figure that out and you can solve the problem pretty easy. Delaware beaches avoid a lot of riff raff because of hotel prices and limited access.
This is also a city that has multiple under 21 clubs that are nothing but encouragement to kids to come learn how to party so that way when you’re an adult you already know what to do

I remember reading an article where society and authority wanted to charge a grandmother with abuse for taking a switch to her rude, out of control grand daughter's behind. She was a teen.
