Join Fy Nyth on social media - mewe.com/i/fynyth ! If you are new to my channel and Fy Nyth (Welsh for "My Nest") in general, welcome! I'm Ariel. Along with my husband Clay, our dogs, cats, bees, and some poultry, we live in a tiny house on wheels in the mountains of western Wyoming and are working on setting into our own new little homestead. I've been living this lifestyle since 2014 and my wonderful partner has joined me more recently. What will you find if you follow the channel and watch the videos?
Real life here. I try to show the good and the bad. The ups and the downs. What works, and what doesn't. The parts I love (most of it!), and the things that suck. Not just the showroom version of a tiny house, but everyday life in a tiny house. Not just the romantic idea of "homesteading" or off grid life, but the everyday details of this lifestyle. We split wood for heat, fill the water tank from a gravity fed spring, and attempt to grow as much of our own food as possible between the weather and wildlife here. I hope to help others learn from mistakes and make life just a little easier for anyone else interested in pursuing a similar lifestyle.
We live in a somewhat harsh and cold climate, but enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife that we are surrounded by on a daily basis. You'll also see videos of the nature and wildlife around my home. If you are interested in my photography or purchasing a photo, I'd love if you follow that over at mewe.com/join/... or ArielCelestePhotography.zenfolio.com!

Watching Clay drop that piece of plywood exactly into place while stading so sure-footed on a floor joist literally blew me away!
Me, too. That was impressive!
This will feel like a mansion compared to little ole Fy Nyth. I am so excited for you both. Much love.😊
Watching Clay walk across the joists of the mudroom, then walk BACKWARD and then drop that plywood exactly where it needed to be was incredible. It was like watching a ballet dancer. He did fine, I held my breath!!!
Me too ❤
You are incredible people- you both must be exhausted at night
I want to be Clay when I grow up .
Me too 😂!
Me three
I think Clay should be presented as a teacher to any young men desiring to be builders etc. His expertise is sadly missing in today's world.
Beautiful-sized house. Can't wait to see it finished. 👍😎🇨🇦
Just watching Clay walking over the joists as he places the sheets of plywood down - there sure is an element of danger in this work! He certainly wouldn’t want to misjudge his step. An art to walk while carrying a load as well!
I love the timelapse. Clouds going in the background are amazing.
I can just imagine that Clay is thoroughly enjoying this project!🥰
Sort of. He is no spring chicken! I hope he makes it through without rheumatism!
Beautiful work Clay, stay healthy.
Clay has dropped his plywood in place a time or two. Experience shows. Working together seems to be accomplishing a great amount of work. Thank you for your film editing and for keeping us all in the know.
Your husband is one tough man.
I love cork flooring, cushy and comfortable underfoot and surprisingly durable. This will be a great house!
It’s nice your brother can lend a hand - you guys helped him get his cabin up in record time so it’s nice that you can help each other out
Boy do I feel for you falling asleep on your laptop. My final job I worked 12 hour days. In my mid 60s, that really tired me out. Many a night I would fall asleep in my recliner and would feel my husband taking my soup bowl away before,I spilled the last few, drops. Make hay while the sun shines!
That was the question I was about to ask..."will you tarp it?" to which the rain came down resulting in a rush to get it done after. I hope the wood dried sufficiently.
What a hard worker your hubby is! Congrats on all the hard work!!!
Whoa, Clay walking across the beams made my heart race and then to drop that board exactly where it needed to be was amazing!! I do believe Clay has lost a few pounds recently. Thanks guys, just loved this!
If ever there was a mountain peak that needed climbing up to, it's that beauty towering in the background of the first half of the video...!
I am learning so much watching this !
You guys are amazing and Clay is an absolute master at building and earthwork... I am so glad you've got him helping you! You make a great team!
You will love court flooring it has so many good qualities and you can sometimes find it at a bargain price because it’s not real popular for some reason. So happy for you both and I hope Clay will be careful through all this and not get hurt. ❤
That background picture is too perfect. Looks like a fake movie backdrop. Very beautiful.
Wow clay is such a hard worker.. No EU have family there if needed. Can't wait to see the him finished.💞
I love watching Clay and you..your teamwork……Your house sure is going to be nice!!
It's getting exciting seeing the floor go down!👍💖💪
Since a house is only as good as the foundation it is built on, that is going to be one well built home!
Please continue to take us along for the construction journey. It's getting very exciting now that the subfloor is down.
AMAZING to watch this unfold. Thank you so much for sharing your soon to be new beautiful home with all of us. 🫂🌹🫂
Your house is going to be so well-built!
Wow Clay is very good at dropping the boards in just the right place 😂👏
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Murphys Law… 😖 Looks like you dodged the bullet. I am really enjoying this build!
Watching from western Canada and fascinated with DIY home building. Best watching sport with yours! Congrats and thanks for the following- along videos!
Good progress and see you next time God willing❤
Lots of room 😊
Love the progress on your little homestead! Congrats!
A well built home for sure . Keep it up folks .
So great to see your project grow…I expect that you will be into the house before we are in ours! Good luck, Jinxy
Coming along. That is going to make an incredible home.
Thank you for explaining the steps to your construction!❤
Progress made yay! Looking great !
I've been wondering if you've picked a name for the new house and if you'd be going with something Welsh to tie with Fy Nyth? I was thinking maybe Ein Clwyd (Our Roost) ;)
You guys are flying along
Impressive knowledge and work.
My question: What are you doing for drainage in and around the cellar?
our floor was nailed in and squeeks like crazy, when they installed the floor in the dining room and hallway, they glued and screwed.
It neve fails, rains when you don't want it to!!
Great job......🌾🍂🍁🇺🇲
Thank you for sharing.
❤
We are getting floods in East Tennessee, from the latest storm that hit Florida. I'm curious if the Styrofoam Lego type structure is used in other parts of the country. All I've ever seen is block here in Knoxville, Tennessee. Thanks for sharing.
@@sheilabundren2037 our friends used it in alaska. Montana Haven:Alaska Edition
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Will the new house be called "Ein Nyth" ?
❤
I'm so happy to see this going up pretty quick. I'm south of you in Fort Collins, Co.
🎉🎉🎉🎉
😊
You two work together like a well oiled machine. So impressive to watch. Is the hole where the ladder is showing where the stairwell will be to the cellar? Did Clay hurt himself? I noticed a bruise on the side of his face.
With having a dirt/gravel floor in the cellar, will you be putting in weeping tubing along the outside of the foundation before backfilling?
I know you have snow, so what pitch are you having on the roof? The basement is going to be great in the future. Are you going to have the laundry down there? I'm in England, and we normally have ours in the kitchen, and will Clay make a laundry shoot in, say, the bathroom? If so, I'm jealous, ❤
Really interesting to see this all start to come together❣️
My question - will you be able to use the cellar this winter? Or will the entrance be all covered up, like the rest of the floor?
Thanks,
Kari
Whew, GREAT PROGRESS and before winter, way to go! I want to offer a little my personal perspective. Some folks think a long, car trip is an extraordinary test for a loving couple. Building a house, the ten thousand decisions, the cost of everything and the difficult endurance for you both…all add up to painful times. Please be sensitive to each other. Do extra things, special and sweet, for each other. When you can, go out of your way, to take the edge off building pain. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. May God be with you…from east Tennessee.
Did you use 1 1/8 plywood for the floor or 2/4 inch. I found it really hard to find the 1 1/8 inch plywood (not osb) around here.
Do you have to get building permits and inspections while building anything on your property?
My burning question has been about the dirt floor in the cellar. Doesn’t the open dirt floor make it easy for rodents to get in, especially if you’re storing food down there? How are you handling that?
Eye sight not do good

Love the progress on your little homestead! Congrats!
