We already complain that they used to announce things way too early and not have a plan....and now that they have stopped doing that, we are gonna give them crap for holding back on some announcements? They made two casting announcements for The Acolyte the same week of D23. The newest winner of the Male Lead Actor award from the Emmy's Lee Jung-Jae just got cast to The Acolyte. I highly doubt anything is wrong with Acolyte or that it's not going well just because they didn't announce anything. We have plenty of Star Wars material still ahead of it's release they need to focus on. Probably will announce something at the next Celebration when they are ready. Lesley Headland has been working on this project for years and I'm sure the script is tight. When it's ready, it will be ready to announce.
"You got a box of caulk." What is caulk?" "That's not confirm either? Ah! What's going on here?!" LMAO. I love this show. The Force is strong with us 😂🤣
Nice to see the full Sith Triumvirate. I don't think there are any problems with The Acolyte. There is just alot in the pipeline before we get to it and I think they wanted the focus to be on Andor and The Mandalorian and the animated stuff. I understand a level of fan anxiety around it because most of the older hardcore fans want to dive deep into the Sith lore on screen. Minor Spoiler alert for Andor........and question. In Andor the 10 minute behind the scenes, a character says," Imperial Bastards. " I wonder how fans feel about swearing in Star Wars and is this a bigger sign of change coming? I don't think Lucas would approve. I do like the look and tone though. It works for me.
Thanks to you all for the show. The studio redesign looks very smart, even if I can no longer take Kristian to task for how disorganised and random his Blu-Ray collection is. I hope that Brett has got that collection organised for you now!
Wow man the studio is looking great. Brett is freaking killing it! Congratulations for the new setup and going out on your own. Still my favorite thing to watch and listen to. Keep up the great work man.
Always good to have the full council back in studio. I hope Kennedy leaves star wars and we finally get someone who wants to plan things out and adapt the marvel philosophy, fans deserve amazing content.
ACOLYTE starts filming in Oct/Nov in London. There's pics online reported by media outlets of the sets being built. Don't know why D23 didn't mention that it was going into production imminently
Mike is my nemesis for holding the obnoxious view that he doesn’t like lightsabers and jedi but at the same time he is my spirit animal for literally everything else
Thank you very much Sith Council!!! Awesome to see the whole crew back!!! Studio is looking fantastic Kristian!!! Hope you guys have a wonderful rest of your week!!! 🙂 👍
Great to see the whole council together again. I think next year will be a good year for star wars and I think they will be announcing more of their plan that are in development.
Late to the party but let's clear something up. The Acolyte is not running into BTS issues. Casting is moving steady and fast, and they are shooting in the UK within the next month. Sets are already being built and they already have booked the Volume for a few months. I don't know why they didn't bring it up during D23 (my best guess is that they wanted to focus on the 2022-2023 projects) but behind-the-scenes problems is not it

So happy to see the gang back together! Loved the discussion today! Looking forward to the release of "Andor" next week and hearing what you guys think about it.
I mean bad batch had no info other than a delayed release date.I think acolyte like all the other shows is gonna be delayed.Mando season 3 was supposed to come out February 2023 and now it just says 2023
My theory is that they're saving The Acolyte and Ahsoka for the UK Celebration because its all theyll have for it, the UK Celebration next year will be after Mando finishes I believe so will be the perfect time to then promote Ahsoka as the next show and then teasers for Skeleton crew, small sneak peak/ more info on Acolyte. Not great marketing on Lucasfilms behalf but I wouldn't worry too much.
Other than not showing the Asoka trailer from Celebration to the crowd at D23, when it comes to Star Wars it sounds like Lucasfilm did everything they needed to do. Andor comes out next week, Tales of The Jedi later this year, and then BB, Mando, Asoka and Skelton Key in '23 - That's 6 shows - The Acolyte isn't even shooting yet, and presumably won't be out until 2024 at the earliest - There is next year's Celebration in April, SDCC, etc to promote it. And if there may be creative differences behind the scenes as Mike Speculated, than all the better they didn't do anything-Get all your ducks in a row so to speak first.

Studio looks awesome Kristian & Brett! One of the close up cameras seems off though as in one shot Steph looked great, but in another she looked like a 45 yr old man! Seriously though a great show as always, do you think that you'll get the Council to Star Wars Celebration next year??
Re: Acolyte, I think it's actually this show is being developed slowly. Considering it's serious/adult tone, I believe they are basing it's success on that of Andor. May sound like a dumb reason, but Chapek's regime is now in charge. There are new levels of managemnt above creatives that prob effected lucasfilm AND marvel's presentations.
Developing slow is fine. My point is this. Skeleton Crew has barely started and they have talked about it at Celebration and D23. Fantastic Four is no where near shooting, they have talked about it at Comic Con at D23. Lucasfilm has not discussed this at either of their big shows.
I thought the Acolyte was supposed to 100 years before TPM. Did they announce it was only 50 years before TPM? I'm hoping for longer, because then it has a chance to be less hermetically sealed as other SW projects have been.
To me you can still do a fighter pilot movie despite Top Gun. Think of all the more dramatic tools you get if the movie is in space, and if theres a more defined enemy other than some SAM rockets and one 6th gen jet. TGM was a good movie but there was a lot going in its favor beside the story, namely competition in the theater. Thos Love and Thunder was mostly its competition...
