I have been doing my research trying to choose a countertop oven and finally, after watching this video, my search is over! This is the one! Thank you Lou. :)
You’re very welcome! Awesome 😎 to hear this video did you well in the pursuit for a new countertop oven. Your going to love it 😍! I can’t wait for results and maybe share some of your recipes with us. Thank you for taking your valuable time to watch my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe!
My husband and I went to Wal-Mart in search of an Air Fryer. At the last minute we seen this Ninja Foodi Pro XL Air fryer Oven but the employee said it was no more left. However, we went back on the opposite isle we were first on and found it. I guess it was meant to be. So my husband purchased this for me, it was $197 at Wal-Mart. Got it home read the instructions but was hesitant on how to use it. If you have any recipes that would be great. Anyway, thank you for the food demonstrations. We also bought a Pro XL grill when we purchased the Ninja Foodi Pro XL. I wished I'd seen this video first. I would have saved an additional $100 on the Pro XL Grill I bought for my husband. However, I enjoyed this video. Lastly, I love Rao's sense of humor, honesty, and acknowledgements of his fellow youtubers. Great video and I will be subscribing after this post.
Awesome! I do believe certain circumstances are meant to be and it comes from above. However, very pleased 😀 to hear the Foodi countertop oven was available at a reasonable price. I am sure you’re going to love the XL oven from cooking, baking, and air frying. But, let me warn you, the one pees I have with the Ninja Foodi XL Oven is the interior sides and back wall, it is the hardest thing to clean. For the life of me, can’t keep the inside looking like new compared to my other countertop convection ovens. If you find a solution to this messy problem please don’t hesitate to let me in on it 🤔. As for the Ninja Pro grill, I would return it, if it is in the returned policy timeframe. Walmart has a 90 day return policy with small appliances. If not, it’s ok 👌. I am not a fan of the grill but it does a great a job for what it is designed to do, grill. Not to worry, soon there will be tons of recipes. Circumstances came about and had to put aside making videos. But, we’re all good and moving forward for new videos. The goal is to focus on recipes 🥖and crafting 🧵, not much on reviews. I am looking forward presenting healthy comfort recipes smack down to wholesome baking. That said, click the bell and you will be notified for new posted videos. Wow 🤩! Thank you for those kind words, truly means everything to me. Your thoughts and taking the time posting to my UA-cam channel means so much, I’m very grateful. Well, Mrs. Penny, thank you for taking your valuable time out to watch and subscribe to my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe!!!! 😎. Big hugs 🤗 -Lou
This is extremely helpful. I was very concerned I made a mistake buying this over because of the trays. Thank you so much for letting me know I can just use the non stick . Great idea with the grill addition !!!!
Saturday, May 9, 2021: Wow Lou! I already have the XL Pro Convection Oven. I was seriously considering buying the smaller one. But not now, you just saved me $300 . Thanks a bunch!!
Daniel, thank you for the wonderful comments. Very pleased this video had save yourself from an unnecessary additional $300 spending -AWESOME😎. You're welcome. And thank you for taking your valuable time out to watch this video. Have an awesome day and stay safe!😉
Thank you, great ideas.....I’ve already bought them both & love them but I can now be an advocate for anyone that can only buy one appliance & can’t decide which one.....The best of both worlds....
Linda, Thank you for the awesome comment. I appreciate your time spent watching my video and help to spread the word for those who can’t decide or limited to just one appliance. Also, Bed and Bath Beyond has a 20% coupon that can be applied to the Ninja countertop oven. After tax, $239 walk out the door is the final price. For those (a lot) are a tight budget, B&BY 20% coupon is a dealbreaker. Again, thank you. Have an awesome day and be safe. -Lou
Can I ask how you clean the elements in your oven. I gently wipe them off after the oven cools off. also how do you deal with the grease spatter, if you use the oven to grill hamburgers and steaks, on the fan in back? I have the model DT251 and there is no screen cover over the fan. Your answers would be greatly appreciated. I did consider purchasing foodi grill until I saw your video. Thanks!
Linda, great question! But sadly, not an answer you’re looking for. Personally, I try to keep everything clean -clean freak, I guess 🤔. The one issue with Ninja products is keeping it clean 🧼. Using the grate in the Ninja oven, I normally place tinfoil on top of food with two metal safe oven spoons for weights, preventing the foil lifting up in convection mode. The same goes for the Ninja grill, keeping it clean is a pain. Using the Ninja grill, there is no way preventing the grease spatter in between and around the cover screen (not as bad as the Ninja oven, but still hard to clean.) Even worst for the DT251 model, no splash guard or filter screen around the convection fan. The Ninja oven is always a concern dealing with grease, any type of fats that will cause splatter without the grate is the same using the grate. So, like yourself, I clean the Ninja with a damp cloth or sponge 🧽 as soon as the oven cools down. I don’t let the oven cool down 100% otherwise, the grease will be permanently stuck to the cavity walls. Yes, it is a pain to keep any of the Ninja products clean! I guess keeping the Ninja clean is a trade off for the cooking performance. So, yeah, I heard some folks have the same issue keeping it clean, not having the screen filter on the DT251 model can be a pain. By the way, if you’re still in the return policy and paid $299 or more, return it. Amazon has the DT251 on sale today, $194!!! The sale is only good for today while supplies last. I am not sponsored by or make anything from Amazon by sharing the link. I do my best to help folks save when I see a sale. www.amazon.com/Ninja-DT251-Countertop-Convection-Thermometer/dp/B08BXXQ37X/ref=asc_df_B08BXXQ37X/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459650416237&hvpos&hvnetw=g&hvrand=6711138117974567648&hvpone&hvptwo&hvqmt&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl&hvlocint&hvlocphy=9011894&hvtargid=pla-987566715817&psc=1 I’m sorry couldn’t be much of a help. OMG! I too missed NY pizza. Can’t find any good (real -non processed) pizza here in South Florida unless you make it your self -homemade👍! That said, all I can say give this a try. I don’t believe you will be disappointed. If not, you have the option to return it within the timeframe of return policies. I think this countertop oven does a better job, but both are very good. The difference will be the price. Sometime ago I did a review for Oster French Door Oven with Convection “ua-cam.com/video/lAOdGJqEae0/v-deo.html” and do a comparison. See what fits your taste and the type of cooking you do or will be doing. Thank you for taking your valuable time watching my video. Thank you fo the comments👏. Have an awesome week and stay safe😎
I have a regular toaster oven and use that for everything. Steak. Fish. Cupcakes Mac n cheese. So my thinking is anything would probably be a better option. Va has bad pizza. I like making French bread pizza in my old toaster oven. Lol. ❤️
@Lou Appreciate your time, effort an energy! Your review helped me decide which oven, helped me learn more about the product, and reminded me grace is free. To those whom say the video is too long, well, it's entertaining plus a review... that equals two and worth the length. Keep doing it your way and growing along the path Lou. Wishing you all the joy possible doing the adventure. Cheers, -Jay
Jay, Realizing this is definitely a late reply, but better late then never🤓. Thank you for the wonderful comments and positive tone supporting this video and channel. You’re awesome and can’t thank you enough 👍! Again, sorry for the late feedback. Thank you for the wonderful comments and taking your valuable time out to watch my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe my friend -🤓.
The question I have. When you were grilling you didnt say what setting you had it on.. Air Fry?? Do you need to have the roasting pan or another pan underneath at all times
Great question and my apologies. Damn, I messed up! Not sure where my head was, but the chicken 🐔 was done with bake function. The grill grate I used the air fryer settings with temperature to the maximum. The reason for baking / roasting pan is only to prevent burns when removing the grill grate and any fats or oils dripping to the bottom of oven. Otherwise, no. You can use the grill grate without any type of pans but do be careful not to burn yourself when removing the grill grate from the oven. Also, cooking with fats will drip to the bottom of oven, a nightmare to clean up!! Please don’t hesitate for any other questions, I’ll do my best to get back. Thank you for taking your valuable time out to watch my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe!
Annette, Great question! You can use foil in a convection oven and it will not over heat. I used foil in many different convection countertop oven brands over the years with my catering business and cooking personally for family members, not one over heated. If tinfoil is used to cover food from preventing the top from burning 🔥 , it will need to be secure to the dish or use oven safe metal spoons to hold it down during the cooking time. If the foil is not held down in place, the convections fan will blow it around inside the cavity or forcing it to the upper heating elements that may cause the oven to over heat. So, as long as the tinfoil remains in place inside the oven cavity throughout cooking time, no worries the oven will overheat. Otherwise, if your oven model manufacturer manual clearly states tinfoil to be avoided, you must follow their safety guidelines. Thank you for your valuable time watching my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe! -Lou
Cynthia, Wow! Thank you for the beautiful comments. I was just about to call it the night until a UA-cam message appeared coming from you. So, I decided to go ahead and read it before going to bed, I’m so glade I did. Nothing is more pleasing then knowing I helped, made someone laugh, or just put a smile on their face for that moment of time. In return, you gave me something to smile about, and I thank you for that! Thank you for taking your valuable time watching my video. Have an awesome weekend and stay safe! -Lou
Great idea!!! I was considering buying the grill. I really love the red color. My husband bought me a Ninja XL toaster air fryer oven for Christmas and it's great to know that I can buy the "grill" plate and use it!!!
Thank you for sharing and the wonderful comments. Please, when you do receive the grill grate don’t hesitate your pros and cons, it will help others too. Thank you for taking your valuable time out to watch my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe! -Lou
Great question. First, absolutely! This oven is amazing. Heating elements with convention fan is near perfect. Heat degree may be off by two or three degrees depending what is being cooked at the time. Yet, the heat remains steady which I haven't seen in other ovens, and those I tested too. I did keep the Ninja, if that says anything. Although, what I don't like is the back and side walls is a pain to clean. Grease buildup is a problematic to keep it clean with this oven. Yes, I wipe down as soon food is pulled out from the oven, but it is still difficult to clean up due to the cavity walls isn't nonstick. If you're a clean freak as me, something to consider before buying. That said, I would wait to buy and look for my upcoming countertop oven videos soon to post to my channel. A total of four countertop convention steam ovens I am about to publish this month. If you can't wait, go with the Ninja, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend to buy the Ninja from Bed and Bath Beyond. Use BBB 20% off coupon and your total cost is around $239. I hope this help. Please don't hesitate for any additional info, I will do my best to reply back. Otherwise, thank you for taking your valuable time out to watch my video. Have an awesome week and be safe! -Lou
Hey Jay, The countertop oven does get extremely hot from all sides and including glass front oven door. This should not limited you from buying. The only drawback is the cleaning the cavity, it is one of the worst countertops to keep clean 🧽 . For the smoke releasing is something I haven’t noticed. The front oven door is well made and air tight when the oven door is completely closed, no smoke should be releasing unless unit is damaged. Yes, like many countertops will get very hot, this is still one of the best for all of your cooking needs. Hope I provided the answers you’re looking for. Thank you for taking your valuable time out to watch my video 👍. Have an awesome night and stay safe.
Awesome! Don’t hesitate to share your pros and cons, we love to hear your personal experience and even some recipes 😎. Thank you for taking the time to watch my video. Have an awesome night and stay safe!
Awesome! Thank you for the wonderful comments! Most importantly, thank you for taking your valuable time out to watch my video. Have an awesome and safe holiday! -Lou
Tim, Awesome question👌! I can’t see why not. I am not familiar with the mangrates, but did some research (looks like an awesome grate) and do believe it can be used in the countertop or regular oven. My concern, getting the mangrates to that high temperature as a grill will do. And size? Not sure if this will fit in a Ninja Foodi /other name brands convection countertop ovens. Another concern, after grilling with the mangrates -safety. No handles to remove from the countertop or standard oven. If you do give it a try, can’t hurt the grate or the oven. So, I would like to know if you’re going to give the mangrates a try in a convection countertop or standard oven, your final opinion? Sorry, I couldn’t give you a direct answer 😭. So, I’m relying on you for an answer, if you do give the mangrates a test drive 😁. Also, how did the mangrates workout in your gas grill? Looking forward for a follow up. Thank you for your valuable time watching my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe! -Lou
Great ideas and demo! Thanks :) I’m taking your advice but now trying to decide between the regular 10x10 or xl 9x12 grill grates The cooking pot that fits the 10x10 is deeper and that might be the deciding factor - what do you think since you have them?
Absolutely! Go with the 9X12. The 9X12 will fit just as well and more grilling space too. Remember, the grill does not have to be purchased directly from Ninja’s website, you can look on Amazon for other brands and SAVE. Although, I do like the material made from Ninja’s grate. but when it comes down to savings, other grill grates are less money and should be just as good. So, Yeah, go for the 9X12 grill grate. Please, let me know how it turns out? I would love your feedback! Updating feedback. I found the link to the 9X12 grill grate. Here is the link: Foodi XL Grill Grate Model #: 104HY500 www.ninjakitchen.com/parts/0/all/2878/foodi-xl-grill-grate/ link may not be active since I had some issues getting it to paste. So, you may have to copy and paste into browser. If not, go to Ninja’s website and in the search box, type in the part number. Thank you for the wonderful comment. And thank you for taking the time to watch my video! Be safe my friend and have an awesome day! -Lou
Absolutely ! Anything a Ninja Foodi Indoor Grill Unit can do so can Ninja grill grate inside a countertop convection oven. The only difference using a countertop oven in replacement for the Ninja Indoor Grill Unit is timing and splatters. Otherwise results almost the same, including that delicious T-Bone steak 🥩. Just make sure to turn the steak over half way through cooking time. Thank you for taking your valuable time out to watch my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe! 🤓
Update: There is two models of the Ninja Foodi 10 in 1 XL Pro Air Fry Countertop Convection Oven, DT200 & DT201. DT201 model is sold in most retailers for around $279.99 or above. DT200 model is sold at Walmart for $199.97. The difference is only the type of digital touch buttons used on the handle display. Otherwise, both models are identical, but the price. So, my friends, here is another BIG savings if you do decide to buy the Ninja oven at Walmart for the low price of $199.97. Walmart’s vs other retailers is a big savings for the same identical models! Once again, I don’t get paid or being sponsored by any retailers what-so-ever. This information I am providing is from the bottom of my heart to bring you savings as much as I can. (Correction) Mama Case (read comment below) clarified that the two models are different; DT200 is a 8 in 1 and DT201 is a 10 in 1. My apologies for the misunderstanding. If DT201 model having the two extra preset buttons, dehydrate and reheat is not a concern, I highly recommend the DT200 which is a BIG savings without the extra two presets. Thank you Mama Case for the clarification. Here is the Walmart link for the Ninja oven: www.walmart.com/ip/Ninja-DT200-Foodi-8-in-1-XL-Pro-Air-Fry-Oven-Large-Countertop-Convection-Oven/442307294?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&&adid=22222222227367382316&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=471297121624&wl4=pla-1037737830877&wl5=9011889&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=442307294&veh=sem&gclid=CjwKCAjwoc_8BRAcEiwAzJevtUoeFEy_z8ZXxd7S7tIvd3-sAxb0BEmRE63VOkwaciayIcMIQNMiEhoC27UQAvD_BwE
I have the Dt200, it's actually a 8in1 not 10 in1( hence the lower price), the 8in1 has 2 less preset buttons which is the dehydrate and reheat function, and less accessories, otherwise they are the same. There's another model coming out which will be the same 10in1, but with a built in temperature probe already on the unit
@@MamaCee518 Oh wow! Thank you for correcting me. You’re awesome! Your update helped will help those thinking about which model to purchase. I will update the info.
@@jacquelinerodriguez6646 Absolutely correct. DT200 is designed for Walmart as a lower end for the Ninja Foodi XL models. Meaning, Ninja held back on features and materials to sell the DT200 at a discounted rate. Thank you for taking your valuable time out watching my video. May you & yours have an awesome week -stay safe😎
Thank you for the wonderful comments❤. Hmmm, good question. Two years ago to date not much has change with convectional (Air Flyer) countertop ovens. So, If I had to pick without a choice for only one countertop convection oven it would be KitchenAid Dual Convection Countertop Oven, “ua-cam.com/video/jP4eJ_G7vF0/v-deo.html”. Although the KitchenAid may have a slightly smaller footprint compared to the Ninja, it is the best low cost consumer countertop oven I personally experience. My answer is only for a convectional oven vs a steam oven. With a convectional steam oven is another subject. That said, my pick is for the KitchenAid and only if I am forced to choose just one brand and model over the others. From the time KitchenAid video was made I still use it daily. If I’m allowed to pick a second brand and model I would absolutely go with Breville the Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro Counter Oven. Outside from sales or discounts Breville is very pricey, but you do get what you paid for in this incidence. Would I choose the Breville over the Ninja? Absolutely! If I didn’t need a big cavity. Would I choose the Breville over the KitchenAid? Absolutely, without second thoughts! With the exception of Breville’s oven, I have many of Breville’s products and can say without any doubt how awesome they’re made and performance top notch. But. Since I am limited to your questions, absolutely, KitchenAid wins in my favor👍. I hope this helps. Thank you so much taking your valuable time watching my video. Have an awesome week and stay safe😎
@@LouRao Thank you, Lou! Wow, I appreciate you taking the time to reply, and for being so thorough! I have Breville appliances too, and second your thoughts on the brand. Just like you, I would choose Breville for an air fryer oven if capacity wasn't an issue. Will go with Kitchenaid as you suggest :) Take care. God Bless.
Awesome my friend👍. Please let us know your honest experience, good or bad. Your feedback will help those contemplating to buy. Also, I appreciate you taking the time out to comment and watch my video☕. Have and awesome week and stay safe😎
Thank you so much for the great information and demonstration. I just purchased my ninja pro air fry oven and now thanks to you I will be getting the grill grate as well. Also What's, this might seen like a silly question but whats the setting and temperature should I use to grill? Thank you so much.
Congratulations on your new Ninja oven! That is awesome! And by no means is your question silly -not in my world! All questions are important and taken seriously. For most grilling, you may want to keep the grate at the highest settings. The Ninja Foodi Grill grills at high temperature for a short period of time (grill setting only) with the exception of some vegetables, hotdogs, and sausages. Whatever you are going to grill in the new oven, monitor the cooking time to achieve cooking goals. For meats, poultry, or pork use a temperature gauge. I didn’t want to forget, be sure to preheat the grate at least 8-10 minutes ahead of time before grilling. The Ninja Grill is about 6-7 minutes to preheat the grate. I highly recommend to go to Ninja’s website and grab some recipes that is meant for their Ninja grill. Use the Ninja grill recipes only as a guide for the Ninja oven. Don’t get disappointed if not all of your grilling will have the grill marks. The grill marks goes true for the Ninja grill, not all grilling have the grill marks when grilling with the Ninja grill. Grilling in a convention oven or Ninja grill isn’t the same as to an outdoor grill. A outdoor grill will always have those perfectionist grill marks and a indoor what-to-be grill will be a hit and miss. My opinion, grilling indoor with a grate is not about the grill marks, it’s about retaining the moisture (juices) inside the food and tender as possible when cooking on high heat as if you’re searing on a stovetop with a cast iron pan. Grill marks may look pretty, but it will not provide extra taste when grilling indoors using a Ninja grill or convention oven. Also, the Ninja oven is a pain to keep the cavity clean. So, as soon as foods are cooked/grilled, try to wipe down the walls with a damp water sponge. Don’t use any household cleaning chemicals to clean the cavity! No! No! Big mistake. Only use a damp water from a sponge. And don’t wait too long to clean, otherwise the grease is hard to removed and the walls will be permanently stained. Use a oven mitt to prevent burning your hands during cleaning. You can also prevent grease splatter by covering any food items with tinfoil when grilling. If you do use tinfoil, add a metal spoon or two on top for weight, this will prevent the tinfoil pushing up away from the food, because the convention fan is blowing hot air around the inside oven and will do the same with the tinfoil. Please, please send feedback. Good or bad, everyone needs a true honest opinion what your thoughts are after using the grate in your new oven. Thank you for the wonderful comment and your valuable time watching my video! I am looking forward hearing back after grilling with the grate. Otherwise, have an awesome week and stay safe! And don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t done so. Take care -Lou
@@LouRaoWow... Thank you so much for such detailed explanation. I truly appreciated. Will definitely follow your advice %100 and yes I will give you a feedback once I use the grill grate. Thank you. Thank you.
I saw that some people were having issues with Ninja reaching its set temperatures in cooking. Have you checked to see if your ninja has any temperature issues?
Shadowdancer, True. Although, most consumers aren’t aware most countertop ovens are not accurate reaching or maintaining temperatures. Yes, this is true for kitchen standard ovens. Exceptions are Viking, Wolf, Bosch, and etc… These top professional brand’s ovens far succeeding then any other brands for temperature control. There is a countertop convection steam oven called, “Anova Precision Steam Oven.” Anova is the only countertop convection steam oven that maintains oven temperature that I’m aware of. Yes, I have the Anova and can testify the accuracy for temperature control which absolutely phenomenal! Any non professional countertop or standard oven out there maintaining temperature control, I’m not aware of them. So, getting a new standard or countertop oven is a good idea to test the temperature with a oven temperature gage. Oven temperatures will either be off by 10 degrees, more or less. Say for instance, you set the temperature for 400 degrees but with the temperature gage shows 385, now you know the oven needs to be crank up a bit to get it to the 400 temperature. Some ovens could be off between 7 to 5 degrees, depending on the model. I seen ovens only off by 3 degrees. Either way, comes to baking, any degrees that is off can effect what your baking. So, it is highly recommend to use a oven temperature gage before baking. Many professional bakers use an oven temperature gage. Also, using a temperature gage, oven temperature settings may be accurate by placing the gage in the center rack but may be off from one side or to the other side of the cavity , this is known as hotspots. Same goes for the top or bottom heating elements, there are hotspots throughout the heating elements. Other reason for hotspots is inside the cavity where heat is releasing out by not enough or poor installation. And hotspots can happen when the oven door doesn’t have a rubber seal around the door frames, or poor temperature is the cause for all of these scenarios mentioned. Again Shadowdancer, it doesn’t matter if it is a Ninja, Oster, KitchenAid, or any other non professional brand names, most countertop and standard ovens will not be accurate with temperature settings. By the way, inconsistency for heat accuracy is been known for years -60+. As far as those having an issue with their Ninja Foodi Ovens it is hard to say. If their Ninja Foodi temperature is off by 25 or more degrees, it is definitely defected. Otherwise, off by 20 or less degrees, normal. Whatever countertop oven of your choosing is going to fine. As you continue on this journey looking for the right oven don’t stop watching other UA-cam Content Creators reviews. Many awesome reviews on UA-cam and some far better than my videos -short & to the point 🤗. Just make sure they’re not being sponsored or paid for that specific product review. If I had to recommend, definitely go with the Ninja. Ninja has a large cavity, cook/bake on both racks at the same time, convection, solid made (heavy) and a good brand for countertop ovens. So, Ninja Foodi XL would be my recommendation. Don’t forget the oven temperature gage. (I’m not paid or sponsor from Amazon. @@LouRao good morning Lou, I see they're are more than one models of ninja pro air oven there's the DT200 & THE DT251 what are the difference between them let me know I want the one easier cleaning 😂😂
@@encarnacionada2 Good Morning to you! don’t get the DT200. DT200 has less function and one rack vs DT251. Originally, the DT200 was designed for Walmart, but it seems to be sold elsewhere now. Absolutely nothing wrong with the DT200 model, it has less functionality then DT251. For a few more bucks go for DT251. Cleaning! Oh my! Both models are the same. Don’t expect either one models or most countertop ovens to stay clean inside the cavity. No, no, no, after one or two usage, the cavity will never look the same. If you’re like me, I’m sooooo picky about dust, dirt, and marks with anything I owned. Yeah, the Ninja is one item I can’t achieve to keep the cavity looking new! It kills me every time I open the oven door, looks so nasty 🤮. With most countertop convection ovens is a no no to use any type of oven grease removal. So, I close my eyes before opening the oven door -😂 Yeah, go with the DT251. For a few extra bucks you can’t go wrong. Fact, it’s actually less than DT251, if you shop at Bed Bath & Beyond and apply their 20% off coupon. @BBB, total cost with tax $320.98. After BBB 20% coupon off - $256.79! Compared to Walmarts DT200, $249.00 before tax. With tax, $266.43. You see, with BBB 20% off coupon for an upgrade model is a better choice. Wow 🤩! What a savings. Do you know where I could find Ninja Foodi DT251 model with food probe? My kitchen stove stopped and on SSI I cannot afford to replace kitchen stove. Who knows when the second stimulus check will come. But I live in OH and I do not want to be in OH winter's using a charcoal grill. This red head does-not like cold & snow lol.

@@LouRao Thanks Lou. I sware that was not there on BlackFriday. I even call Nina Friday and they couldn't tell me. I hoping for a sale for CyberMonday. I was funny, I was watching your other big oven you talked about in the Ninja video and notification popped up for your comment. So I Thank You. O, what do you do with ovens you don't keep using? Just curious 🤔
@@BLAZE5417 LOLOL - yeah, the F.Blumlein steam oven was a shocker. I can’t even express how much I was laughing after videoing the set, because of the unit failing -crazy😆. Your right! Ninja should had the DT251 for sale during CyberMonday, but they didn’t. The only placed I found the lowest price for the DT251 is Amazon. Other retailers is asking around $400 or more -insane! Allow me to suggest getting the DT201 or DT200. Difference the DT201 has over the DT200 is two extra functions and the function button style. DT200 is made for Walmart selling around $219. DT201 @ Bed Bath & Beyond is around $230 after BBB 20% off coupon. You can always buy a oven thermometer for around $16 or less. There is no difference between the DT251 and DT201 with the exception for the food probe. To be honest, the DT251 is not worth the price even with a sale tag. DT251 high price tag is for one reason only -oven thermometer. A gimmick! 😩 Also, I noticed Target / Best Buy/ Amazon has the DT201 on sale $239. www.target.com/p/ninja-dt201-foodi10-in-1-xl-pro-air-fry-oven-dt201/-/A-79991383?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000012576704&CPNG=PLA_Appliances%2BShopping&adgroup=SC_Appliances_Keurig&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=c&location=9011894&targetid=pla-1046810797170&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1247068&ds_rl=1248099&gclid=Cj0KCQiAqo3-BRDoARIsAE5vnaLdDjGXn3ixN43DRNXoxN0FN9SGr9eTVawLTv1NEhsnLsUZ0_UBmosaAqLxEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds Still interested in the DT251? I will keep an eye out for the lowest price. I know, all of those freaking countertop ovens in my home -oh my! 😆😁😂. No, really, most are given away to those who can’t afford one. The ovens I don’t give away, kept for catering. I would had given you a DT201 if I didn’t decide to keep it 😩. So, ovens not kept were donated. Same for the sewing machines, most kept, others donated (returned if the quality wasn’t there.) F.Blumlein recently sent me another steam oven model for review. I think it will go back, unless they decide for me to keep it. F.Blumlein was embarrassed from the last product review that they offer me to do another test run on a new model with no limitations to my performance presenting the new product. So, I agree and finished the video. We’re finalizing the editing process and should be on UA-cam sometime today or tomorrow. -Lou
Awesome question. Any countertop will do. Just keep it away from sides and back wall about 1/2”. Otherwise, you will be fine. Thank you for taking your time out to watch my video. Have an awesome weekend. Stay safe😎
When you go to the link you provided for the grill grate, it asks for a model number. None of the choices are the one in the link you gave. Which will work with a DT201 XL Foodi 10 in 1 oven/airfryer?
Thank you for the heads up. Links working. You may have to refresh the browser or clear the cache. Again, I appreciate your help>. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and stay safe! -Lou
Hey Lou, I love the review! Very helpful!! I have a question- do you know what is the distance between the “legs” of the oven? I’m looking for a kitchen cart/table to fit it on top and I’m not sure what size of countertop I should look for. Thank you very much, O.V
Ofer, Sorry getting back a little late. First, thank you for the wonderful comment 😎. As to the distance for the countertop legs, I don’t have that answer. Sorry, but the Ninja Foodi oven was given away and have no way to measure the legs. Although, go with the depth 17.09 and width 20.22 for the oven exterior, it may help for that special cart/table your looking for. Thank you for taking your valuable time out for watching my video. Have an awesome evening and stay safe 👍.
Salsa, Great question! Yes you can. I recommend no bigger than 14lbs. I am doing a Thanksgiving turkey video using this Ninja XL countertop oven and it will be out real soon. Keep an eye out for the video. If you subscribe to my channel, a notice for video will be sent to you. Thank you for your valuable time watching my video and have an awesome day. Stay safe. -Lou
Fred, I know, I know, I totally forgot to suggest flipping the hamburgers 🍔. But, I did flipped them in between video takes. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Thank you for your comments and valuable time watching my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe! -Lou
Rick, awesome question! The Ninja Foodi DT251 isn’t a new model, it has been out for some time. What separates the DT251 from DT201 is the built in thermometer. Otherwise, DT251 has the same functions and size as the DT201 with the exception for the built in thermometer. Or, the price! I would not get the DT251 because of it’s high price tag -not worth it. Get the DT201 and buy an inexpensive oven thermometer, save your hard earned money.
Great Question 🙋♂️! I didn’t want to deal with cleaning the wire fry basket during the time making this video. I do prefer the nonstick baking pans without any issues using convection settings. Bottom line, If I can avoid cleaning as much as possible and still get the same results using nonstick cookwares, I’m in heaven. After receiving your new air fryer oven, please don’t hesitate to share your personal experience. Thank you for taking your valuable time to watch my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe! -Lou

I need help with ordering grill grate. Trying to order your grill. The models to select from is as shown. FG550, FG551, FG551C The website will not go forward without choosing one. So which one do I choose? I am getting a ninja DT201.
OH NO 🙉. Go ahead and used this selection, “AG400.” Shirley, after receiving the grate share your thoughts good or not so good. Your personal experience may help other viewers. Also, so sorry for the late reply. Take care and have a blessed day. 🤓
@@shirleywilkinson9335 I try to look up FG511 and no luck. Did you mean “FG551?” If so, that is for Ninja’s XL model and it should be fine. If again FG551 is what you meant, the grill grate may just fit, length size is bigger than the standard. Also, if you just order the grate and want the standard size, cancel the order and go with AG400. Otherwise, I think you will be ok if it is FG551. I hope this helps.
@@shirleywilkinson9335 Also, I updated the grill grate info telling the viewers to select AG400 from the dropped down menu. Thank you for your questions and assistants, I should had made to clear from the beginning.
Sabrina, great question. If you comparing to “Ninja SP101 Foodi 8-in-1 Digital Air Fryer Flip Away,” than yes and no. These two models function the same way but are different by size and with small function differences. The Flip Away oven main differences is its size, can’t roast a whole chicken or turkey. Whereby, the XL oven can fit a 5-6 Ib bird. The XL oven in my video is able to bake two mid size pizzas at once, or bake two pies, breads, and most baking items all at the same time. The Flip Away oven is limited to what can go inside due to it’s compact size. Otherwise, they both air fry, bake, broil, dehydrate, roast, etc... I hope this helped. Please don’t hesitate for further assistance. Thank you for taking your valuable time watching my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe!
Hello looking at the grill grate and it's asking for model number it has in drop box box two letters with numbers following it the letters are AG, IG & LG what do you recommend?
Lou Rao, we have the same model as this one your testing, but when we go order the grill plates, they ask for model number and ours is not listed, what numbers do we use for the poyt and the grill? Thank you in advance.
AG400 and should be fine. A web search for the AG400 will display the Ninja Grill as an older model, but it is still the same sizes as the new one. If there is an issue still, please don't hesitate to let me know. -Lou
O Lou, you did the Ninja justice ⚖. And the Ninja didn't burn the, chemical, pizza while it successfully cooked the tater tots 😉😉 . Plus for 49 whole minutes you had me out of my head & the world's chaos. I'm so grateful. Comments you asked for; I totally understand the 'chemical' foods. My grown children never had mac n cheese that came from a box, until they left home. My saying is, If I fed you or myself pre boxed foods while we're alive to raise a little kal, with all the preservatives they throw in there would be no need for embalming. 12-15 years ago scientist prove that it would take weeks for one to naturally break down without embalming because of all the preservatives in pre boxed foods. Depending on how CyberMonday goes this will be my first Ninja product. I love to research and believe you me I've researched the kal out of air fryers & ect.. I'm so happy with my pick. OMGoodness, the temp probe, that would of been perfect for my pulled pork. It's 99-20$ for BlackFriday. Now if I can find the Ninja for 229$ without the temp probe {like I did BlackFriday} then maybe, we'll see. I'm sure I am forgetting something. I've watched several of you videos this morning and I like you demeanor, the way you think, so I'll be back for more. I see you have another video on the Ninja, can't wait to see what you cooked. Thanks for the encouraging word's earlier. I was having a moment, worries kept me from sleeping last night, but this RedHead is just as strong as stubborn. One recipe question for you, do you by chance have a recipe for coconut shrimp in the Ninja? I'll keep looking. Have a very Blessed Day and stay Safe.

You’re too kind 👍! “ If I fed you or myself pre boxed foods while we're alive to raise a little kal, with all the preservatives they throw in there would be no need for embalming.” lololol, wait! lololol. Ok, I’m done laughing. That was great. It is so true! I have to use it in my next video. Hope to remember. By the way, being strong and stubborn can be beneficial at times -lolol. I know, I too can be that way, 😳. Also, if I see the Ninja on sale will notify you. Tomorrow is Cyber Monday, maybe great deals? I do, I do have a awesome coconut shrimp recipe, but must wait. After finishing product reviews, I will be showing off some of my favorite recipes, including coconut shrimps using the Ninja and steam oven. You be the first to hear when the video is about to air. Hi Lou I had already watched 3 videos, before I found yours, comparing the Ninja grill with the Ninja XL et cetera. And I am so glad I decided to stop and watch/listen to this video. Glad I hung in there, because... it was like the best/most humorously entertaining of the lot. And educational of course. Just learning that I can buy those 2 grilling pieces for for the convection oven I already have was so worth it! Maybe now I can prefectly grill a steak. 👏👏👏 Oh my, I've got to try that. That did it for me. I'm a fan/subscriber now. Thank you. You made my day. 🙂 My only question is, clean up. How spattered did the top n sides get. How easy was cleanup?
Cheryl, You made my day too👏.These last few months been a roller coaster ride.Your comments lifted my spirits 🤗. I’m so pleased this video gave you the edge to move forward by giving the grill plate a chance with your countertop oven. Yeah, clean 🧽 up? Oh my! For most countertop ovens don’t expect the cavities to be looking new from day one, same with the grill. One drawback with countertop ovens is keeping the cavity looking clean. Yes, splatter grease from the grill is going to be difficult removing. This is true for pan cooking with any types of fats -grill plate or not. I’m a neat freak and absolutely drives me crazy looking inside most of my countertop ovens. Impossible to removed most of the grease. The only countertop ovens I’m aware of keeping cleaned 🧽, Delongerhi Livenza Convecttion Oven Model EO241250M & KitchenAid's Dual Convection Countertop Oven. Both of these models have a nonstick coating. Links to both videos I reviewed: Delongerhi ua-cam.com/video/aIVg7bwr65A/v-deo.html KitchenAid ua-cam.com/video/jP4eJ_G7vF0/v-deo.html Also, I wouldn’t advised to use any harsh chemicals to clean the oven cavity. Most cleaning chemicals made for ovens will damage the countertop ovens (convention fans even more so) and it’s just unhealthy -poison. Yeah, splatters using the grill or not is inevitable. One advice, when using the grill, try tin foil by placing over food (Only for Convection Ovens with built in fans.) Be sure to use all metal utensils, folks or spoons 🥄 on top of tin foil to keep the foil from lifting caused by the convection fan/fans (convection ovens only.) The tin foil will help reduced the amount of fat/oil splatters. Avoid wrapping the foil around the steak, only lay it on top of the steak. This method will allow the heat from the conventional fan to circulate evenly around the steak. Again, only if you have a convection oven. If not, no need for the spoons or folks. Last, after receiving the grill, be sure to fire up the grill first before placing the steak on it. Placed the grill inside your countertop oven and crank up the heat to the highest settings. Wait for the grill to get extremely hot before placing your steak. A good test is to wet your hands with water💦 and fling it onto the grill, same methods for testing pan frying with oil. As soon as the water hits the grill it should sizzle and water will evaporate immediately, grill ready for yummy steak 🥩 . All countertop ovens heating is different. Some heat quickly and others don’t. Depending on your countertop oven and model will determine how long the grill will heat up to its hottest point. With just the Ninja Foodi grill, it too takes some time to heat up before cooking. So, the Ninja Foodi grill isn’t as fast as using their grill inside a convection oven. Both methods take time to heat the grill. The difference is no splatters with the Ninja Foodi grill, but definitely splatters using just the grill plate in a convection oven. Any additional info please don’t hesitate to ask. I will do my best getting back. Cheryl, You’re awesome. Again, thank you for the wonderful comments. Also, thank you for taking your valuable time out to watch my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe my friend 🤓
@@LouRao Wow that was a lot of good information there. And thank you for thanking me. And I'm glad I could help make your day better. And yes you have I had the same idea with putting some foil maybe on a rack over top of the rack I'm going to put the steakyou put the state on to prevent spattering. Presently I presently I am working with an Oster Toaster (Convection oven with Turbo Convection) and has two rack positions.
@@LouRao Now what's really more interesting is this microwave I got a while back and it has a function I was not even aware that microwave could have.. I have an Emerson and it has a grill/combo setting. And includes a round wire rack. And if I find the manual, I may try to grill in that microwave instead. And it maybe easier to clean than the cavity of the microwave oven.
@@cherannretiredgran68 Replying to both of your comments. The Oster turbo convection oven is awesome. Oster products are excellent for those not wanting to dish out extra cash for top brand names. I did a review for the Oster French Door Convection Countertop Oven and LoVE IT❤! Yeah, for the microwave and the grill plate, research before doing it. I too have a microwave that allows me to use their metal racks, “ Electrolux.” Me, I would be very cautious placing the grill inside the microwave oven and turning it on! Why, not sure the metal type of the grill. Ninja doesn’t really specify the type of metal it is made from. Depending on the type of metal the grill is made from may be incompatible with your microwave, whereby the grill will damage it and cause it to explode. I HIGHLY recommend don’t do it until you contact the manufacture either by calling/chatting/ email. Phone Support: 1-800-334-0759 Contact by email: www.oster.com/support/contact-us Again, PLEASE don’t do it until it is SAFE to say you can use the grill with your microwave. On the other hand, I too going to look into this as well🤓. Never in a million years I thought about using a grill in a microwave that may accepts this type of material. Wow! if this works, you open a new door using the Ninja grill! Not only for your previous awesome comments and making my day🌞, this new possibilities will be enormously helpful for so many folks -if it works. So yeah, I too going to look into this as well. Again, don’t use the Ninja grill in your microwave until the the T’s cross and dots dotted. Your SAFTETY is number one priority ⛑! Lou🤓
@@LouRao It is not an actual grill that I'm using in the microwave. A. They just included a rack a rack in the microwave with the turntable they turned table when it was purchased. And no I didn't even realize it had this feature till a few months ago. Too busy living, raising kids, running around being a chauffeur, working a job and everything else. If if you know what I mean. But I haven't actually tried this feature and no I would never put anything metal in a microwave and use a microwave function. That would be disastrous. I do still have the manual for the microwave so I'll dig that out and I'll read up on it. And then it might pay to see if there's been any reports of anyone else trying having bad results.

Great review!....I just rec’d the Ninja 8-in-1 air fryer that flips up...I haven’t even unboxed it (decided to donate my PowerXL air fryer to my sister)...I’m sure I’ll like it, but wish I knew this model was out.
Thank you for the comment. Advice, I highly recommend to return the Ninja 8-in-1 and get the 10 in 1 XL. You will not regret doing the exchange. The 10 in 1 XL is amazing. Cooking temperature is dead on, I haven’t seen this in most countertop convention ovens tested so far. Although, I am testing and reviewing convention steam ovens lately, the 10 in 1 XL is one of the best and favorite non steam countertop ovens I highly recommend. It is versatile in so many ways. Plus, after providing the additional grill grate technique in my video, this oven is endless with cooking possibilities. If you don’t return or exchange the Ninja 8-1 flip, I think it is still a great product to keep. But, I would really reconsider your options. Otherwise, Thank you for taking your valuable time watching my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe! -Lou
Grueling, for 10 minutes of comparison information. As I understand it, there will be a grill plate for the oven, shortly! 1800 watt oven. So, make sure your wiring can handle it! A for effort!

This dude's pretty annoying lol, but he's totally right about everything he said. The small Ninja grill gets much hotter than the XL. Probably because they use the exact same heating element therefore it's more effective in a smaller space. Also, buying the grill insert is essentially the same as owning the Ninja grill.
I have been converting my Ninja Foodi items for years. I currently use my Grill grate in my Ninja Oven.

One guy does a really bad review on this and it makes me think he got a dud

I'm trying to decide on this or the emeril French door. I like that you explain everything. Thank you.
New York pizza. I miss this

I have a regular toaster oven and use that for everything. Steak. Fish. Cupcakes Mac n cheese. So my thinking is anything would probably be a better option.
Va has bad pizza. I like making French bread pizza in my old toaster oven. Lol. ❤️

To those whom say the video is too long, well, it's entertaining plus a review... that equals two and worth the length.

Thank you so much for your honesty review
You are the best teacher!
Wow, that was awesome! Thank you for the wonderful comment and taking your valuable time out to watch my video. Have an awesome day and stay safe!
My understanding is you are not to use aluminum foil in this oven because it will cause the oven to over heat. I noticed you use it, is this ok.
Otherwise, if your oven model manufacturer manual clearly states tinfoil to be avoided, you must follow their safety guidelines.

good review, LOVE your kitchen colors, the blue to white is great (the wife hates blue, she wants yellow, YUCK!)
Would you recommend this one over all the other that you tried, I'm look for something relatively high with convection?
@@LouRao Great, I'll wait a bit, thanks for the advice and keep on with your great work.
This get hot when you touch outside like side, top, back also is smoke coming out also is this a good buy?

What if you had Mangrates I bought for my gas bbq do you think those would work? I just purchased this yesterday'
Thanks :) I’m taking your advice but now trying to decide between the regular 10x10 or xl 9x12 grill grates
The cooking pot that fits the 10x10 is deeper and that might be the deciding factor - what do you think since you have them?
Here is the link:

Thank you for the wonderful comment. And thank you for taking the time to watch my video! Be safe my friend and have an awesome day! -Lou
Thank u.. Will u do the same thing but with a steak,. T- Bone.. Please this weak
Here is the Walmart link for the Ninja oven:

I have the Dt200, it's actually a 8in1 not 10 in1( hence the lower price), the 8in1 has 2 less preset buttons which is the dehydrate and reheat function, and less accessories, otherwise they are the same. There's another model coming out which will be the same 10in1, but with a built in temperature probe already on the unit
@@MamaCee518 Oh wow! Thank you for correcting me. You’re awesome! Your update helped will help those thinking about which model to purchase. I will update the info.
Also the 200 doesn't come with the fan cover.
Great review and demo! Very entertaining! Thank you for sharing! By chance, to date, could you share your favorite oven air fryer?
God Bless.

For the grill is it on the air fryer or roast setting?
Either roast or bake. Both will do the job. Just make sure to preheat to get the grill hot. Hope this helps. 😎

So, I close my eyes before opening the oven door -😂
Yeah, go with the DT251. Plus, not only is the savings awesome, so is getting the upgrade model.

A gimmick! 😩
Also, I noticed Target / Best Buy/ Amazon has the DT201 on sale $239. www.target.com/p/ninja-dt201-foodi10-in-1-xl-pro-air-fry-oven-dt201/-/A-79991383?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&fndsrc=tgtao&DFA=71700000012576704&CPNG=PLA_Appliances%2BShopping&adgroup=SC_Appliances_Keurig&LID=700000001170770pgs&LNM=PRODUCT_GROUP&network=g&device=c&location=9011894&targetid=pla-1046810797170&ds_rl=1246978&ds_rl=1247068&ds_rl=1248099&gclid=Cj0KCQiAqo3-BRDoARIsAE5vnaLdDjGXn3ixN43DRNXoxN0FN9SGr9eTVawLTv1NEhsnLsUZ0_UBmosaAqLxEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Still interested in the DT251? I will keep an eye out for the lowest price. I know, all of those freaking countertop ovens in my home -oh my! 😆😁😂. No, really, most are given away to those who can’t afford one. The ovens I don’t give away, kept for catering. I would had given you a DT201 if I didn’t decide to keep it 😩. So, ovens not kept were donated. Same for the sewing machines, most kept, others donated (returned if the quality wasn’t there.)
F.Blumlein recently sent me another steam oven model for review. I think it will go back, unless they decide for me to keep it. F.Blumlein was embarrassed from the last product review that they offer me to do another test run on a new model with no limitations to my performance presenting the new product. So, I agree and finished the video. We’re finalizing the editing process and should be on UA-cam sometime today or tomorrow.

what surface should it sit on
Awesome question.
-Lou
Hey Lou,
I love the review! Very helpful!!
I have a question- do you know what is the distance between the “legs” of the oven? I’m looking for a kitchen cart/table to fit it on top and I’m not sure what size of countertop I should look for.
Thank you very much,
O.V
Ofer, Sorry getting back a little late. First, thank you for the wonderful comment 😎. As to the distance for the countertop legs, I don’t have that answer. Sorry, but the Ninja Foodi oven was given away and have no way to measure the legs. Although, go with the depth 17.09 and width 20.22 for the oven exterior, it may help for that special cart/table your looking for.
Thank you for taking your valuable time out for watching my video. Have an awesome evening and stay safe 👍.
@@LouRao Thank you very much!

Can you cook a whole Turkey in this 10 inch 1 XLPro Air Fry countertop
Salsa, Great question! Yes you can. I recommend no bigger than 14lbs. I am doing a Thanksgiving turkey video using this Ninja XL countertop oven and it will be out real soon. Keep an eye out for the video. If you subscribe to my channel, a notice for video will be sent to you. Thank you for your valuable time watching my video and have an awesome day. Stay safe. -Lou
Lou one thing you didn’t mention is whether or not you flipped the burger. Loved the video.

Is the DT251 just the newest version? TY
I am getting this air fryer Fuji oven for my boat why did you use a standard pie sheet instead of the air Fry Basket

FG550, FG551, FG551C
The website will not go forward without choosing one.
@@LouRao I went ahead and ordered fg511 will that be ok ?
This oven is the same as the Ninja Foodi 8-in-1 Flip Mini Oven?

AG300 will work.
Why doesn’t your xl have a thermometer
Comments you asked for;
I totally understand the 'chemical' foods. My grown children never had mac n cheese that came from a box, until they left home. My saying is,
If I fed you or myself pre boxed foods while we're alive to raise a little kal, with all the preservatives they throw in there would be no need for embalming.
One recipe question for you,
do you by chance have a recipe for coconut shrimp in the Ninja? I'll keep looking.
Have a very Blessed Day and stay Safe.
Pamela, Thank you again for the awesome comments 👌!

Sorry for the grill plate
Hi Lou
I had already watched 3 videos, before I found yours, comparing the Ninja grill with the Ninja XL et cetera.
Oh my, I've got to try that. That did it for me. I'm a fan/subscriber now.
Thank you. You made my day. 🙂
My only question is, clean up.
Links to both videos I reviewed:
Delongerhi
ua-cam.com/video/aIVg7bwr65A/v-deo.html
KitchenAid
ua-cam.com/video/jP4eJ_G7vF0/v-deo.html
Also, I wouldn’t advised to use any harsh chemicals to clean the oven cavity.

Again, PLEASE don’t do it until it is SAFE to say you can use the grill with your microwave.
