    Angie - love your videos and you are a delight to watch! After seeing your video on the Kiss InstaWave - I bought one and absolutely love it! First day of use - walked in to my Mom's and she said asked if I'd had my hair cut as it looked great. Two days later I went to get my nails done and first thing she said was "your hair looks great." I am so pleased you found this for us - THANK YOU. I've already ordered and sent one to my daughter and she loves it too. I too have thin hair that I have colored "not too blonde, not too dark" and struggle with the frizzies, so I will try some of the products you have shown here. Thanks for sharing with us and keep up the great job! Patti

    Your hair color is beautiful and your style is very flattering on you. I'm the same way with my blonde highlights. I have to be careful to not go to ashy because the highlights start looking gray. Too warm is not good either. It's not easy to find the perfect stylist, so when you do, hold on! I'm in my 50's and have the same hair type as you and I'm trying to grow it out. It's now to my shoulders, so your info. is so helpful. Thank you!

    Hi Angie, thanks for your reply. I have always gone to spas for facials. At less than 2 years from 50, I'm finding my skin's needs have changed and although very relaxing, facials aren't doing much beyond perhaps hydrating. I decided to take this month's facial budget and spend it on many of the products you described in your video. I really appreciate all the insight you provide in your videos.
    Thanks again!

    I thought I had straight frizzy hair all throughout my teens and twenties. When I got to my late thirties, I discovered I actually had "wavy" hair, and now I just wear it wavy, the way it comes out of my head, and it makes all the difference. I do understand it's not for everyone, though!

    Thank you so much for doing this video! My dumb hair got thin and frizzy with age. I got the Instyler yesterday! I played straightening this morning and wow! Don't forget if you double click it that the barrel will reverse, so it's working pretty good for me. I'm gonna try curls next.I think it's a keeper! Dang, you're making me still want that Kiss Instacurler thingie. YES, if you cut your hair every time it never gets long. BTW, your skin is looking just lovely! LOVE you, Susan

    I am SO glad I stumbled across your channel. Since turning 40 last year, I realized that my skin, hair (ugh, and body), just aren't what they used to be! I've watched countless UA-cam beauty gurus, and while they have some good tips, I just cannot relate to them I'm tired of hearing about a 20something year old talk about their wrinkles. I want to see a real woman talk about skincare, and find what works for them!! Same with hair..mine is thinning and a frizzy, curly mess. So thank you for the info, and keep the videos coming. Your voice is so soothing, I could listen all day!

    You always make good, educational videos with a plan. Thank you for this. You are such a pleasent person to watch and listen to. I have hopeless fine, silky hair that does not respond to curl. Result has been all kind of strong hairsprays to glue the litlle curl that I get. Recently I opted for the Sexy Hair Soy spray and it has done wonders for the look and bounce at least.

    Angie, we use a lot of the same products. I did go out and purchase the Kiss InstaWave like the next day. I liked it , it worked well...but I took back today after a week's working with it. I figured it had a learning curve. But it was easy. The reason I took it back is because tho it worked well...it wasn't any faster than what I was doing with my curling iron. The only trouble I did have, was that it was hard for me( talk about hair challenged! ) to do the back of my head. But in fairness, regular curling irons are a challenge too. Anyway, I figure I didn't need to spend $60 if it took me as long to use it as my previous routine. So ...a very good product, but not a 'necessary' product after all , for me.

    Hi Angie, My stylist does the same method with my hair and I use almost the same products except I never tried to Altterna. As per your recommendation, I purchased the John Freda tool and it's fantastic! I immediately ordered the Kiss Insta-wave! Can't wait to try it! I am also a little challenged with styling my hair and I knew the instyler would work, but it would be challenging for me I'm so glad I can try this new product ; it looks like something I can handle! Lol :) Thank you for sharing this information your recommendations are always on point! Deb xo

    I have always wanted to mention that we have exactly the same hair...texture, length, color...Have you tried Olaplex when you have your hair colored? It really works well...they use steps 1 and 2 in salon, and step 3 is done at home, like a regular conditioner...the cleanser that works best for me is WEN Winter Vanilla Mint---there IS a learning curve, though. I also like Nexus "Split End Therapy". I like the Alterna CC that you use, and I have to try that KISS tool!

    LOVE my Kiss Instawave also! It's unbelievable how long the curls last even after riding a motorcycle and helmet head, seriously! The last time I bought the John Fredda shampoo at Ulta, it was on clearance, I bought what they had left (2 bottles) but I didn't get a chance to ask anyone if it was being discontinued...just fyi. Going to try the other hair products you recommended, great video, thanks!

    Did you ever try to was your hair with baking powder,natrium bicarbonat?its fantastic.I do this now for 2 years.i am in the same age as you and i also colour my hair to light braun/dark blond.
    You just need 2 big spoon of baking powder on 500ml warm water.head over the bathtub,put the water into the dry hair,wash it like with shampoo.then remove the soda with water and now,what is very important,rinse your hair with lemon water.3-4 big spoon again on 500ml water and leave the sour rinse on the hair.
    this is so perfect and good for inviroment,no cemical rubbish,no plastic bottles.and as needed you can use a hair mask.
    now i wash my hair only once a week.
    give it a try:-)

    Hello Angie! First of all I would like to say a huge "Thank You" for taking the time to research all things :anit-aging" I really enjoy and look forward to your videos. I also am 52 and have been going through a lot of changes and have been searching for solutions to the whole aging gracefully process.
    If I understood the beginning of this particular video you mentioned that your hair might be thinning out, my question to you is what are you doing to try and curtail the fall out?
    I myself have been batteling with this issue since going through menopause. I have to treat my hair like precious gold, I too only wash about every third day and I find that I have to use a heavy duty moisturizing mask a couple times a week to prevent breakage and that dry straw feeling.
    Any suggestion from you would be much appreciated.
    Thank you again and have a super day!
    Kind regards,
    Donna

    I bought the Instyler in two sizes because of you, and it's brilliant at straightening my hair. However, it's way too hard for me to curl with. I just can't figure it out between switching hands or wielding the thing upside down or rightside up all while looking in the mirror. No! You have to be some kind of hair genius to do that. So, I bought the Instawave after watching your video, and I love it! I agree that you can easily get great looking second day curls with it. I have much more hair than you do, so there's no five minute styles for me, but I can do it in 15 minutes. Next I'm going to try showering the night before and doing it with air dried hair. I'm a curly girl, so we'll see how that goes.

    It's so funny how much we are a like... my hair also turns into that yellowish/reddish kopper colour and I can't stand it either. It took me YEARS to figure out how to get the right low- AND highlights. Now I do it myself & have the healthiest hair I've ever had. I used a GARNIER Decoloration product accidently 2 years ago (I had a shock!) then coloured it with ashblond to make it look "normal" again... and it turned out to be the most perfect ashblold hair. The Best Mistake I've Ever Made. :D **Try the hairspray by John Frieda: Luxurious Volume ALL-DAY HOLD**. It's magic. It locks moisture like nothing else, doesn't smell strong or awful and it does last all day, without hardening the hair. It sounds too good to be true, ain't it? :D I haven't bought any other spray ever since. ~ Thank you for the video. xxx

Two questions: I have hair a lot like yours, and I get two color foils like you do, a lowlight and a highlight, but mine comes out much brassier than yours, no matter how cool I tell the stylist to make the color. Do you know what colors your stylist uses? Also, when can we expect your sunscreen video? I am holding off on buying more sunscreen because I know you're working on a video for that, and I also want a non-chemical sunscreen that finishes matte with no white! Can't wait for that video!

      Erica B Hi Erica~ Sorry to keep you waiting on the sunscreen video… when it takes a long time it means I'm not finding many good products… ugh, but getting closer and will have it pretty soon. On the hair color, my stylist is very secretive so she won't tell me the exact shades she uses. I always tell a new stylist to use ash blond and never use golden or warm blonde.

    Hi Angie, thanks for the links to your skin care routine, they were both very helpful! I'm curious to know your perspective on spa facials; do you think they're worth the money or is it best to invest the money in products that can be used regularly at home?

    • @AngieHotandFlashy
      @AngieHotandFlashy  9 років тому

      Trish Allan I've never been much into spa facials so I'd go with save your money for at home products. That said, there's nothing wrong with them and if you get and love them and can afford both, that's fine too!

    Hey Angie! I need to try that cc cream, going to Ulta soon it's in list! Wanted to tell you I got my voluma two days ago. I love it thank you so much for telling us your experience. Honestly I don't think I would of done it if it wasn't for you! One question I had how long did the bumpy feel last for you? The doc told me about two weeks. Thanks Angie again😊

      Maria Teresa Oh! So excited for you!! It did take about 2 weeks for the sharpness to smooth out, and it keeps getting better from there… I'm at 6 months and still love it!

    Off topic, but how's the puppy (probably not really a puppy anymore)? I know with the new set-up we can't see him in your office like with your previous doggie, but I was just curious about how he is doing. Thanks again for your thorough reviews and info. You have no idea how great your informative videos are to me!

      ghypsc The puppy's great! Thanks for asking. She is much bigger now though but so clumsy, she hates coming in my office because of all the wires and lights… there's no room for her!

    Hi I know you said you hair lasts like 2 or three days, and it looks fabulous, but I was wondering if you do anything special when you go to sleep. I have a satin pillowcase and I just kind of put it in a old school scrunchy bun, that kind of works, but not so great. I'd love to hear any tips you might have. Thanks.

      Sue I think because I sleep on my back like a corpse, it helps my hair stay longer. I use a regular cotton pillow case and I lift all my hair up and lay it over the top of the pillow as I put my head down (I sleep with head/shoulders elevated), so it doesn't get crushed during the night. ZZzzzzzz

    My name is Bonnie and I too am hair challenged! Honey I related to every thing you said about your hair. Quick question about the Kiss InstaWave. Did you have trouble with the barrel grabbing your hair and wrapping tightly. I have seen comments by people with fine hair that said they couldn't get their hair to wrap tightly enough. Thanks!

    • @AngieHotandFlashy
      @AngieHotandFlashy  9 років тому

      grobannoel That's true, it doesn't really wrap tightly and at first I didn't think it would work well because of it. BUT, it works great even without wrapping the hair tightly around the barrel, imho.

    Another great video! I love that you are always so thorough and specific in your explanations and descriptions. Question: at 9:30 you meant to say "ends" and not "roots," correct? I use argon oil sparingly as well, just to smooth the outer layer of hair and on the ends. I agree with other commenters--your arms are amazing!

    • @AngieHotandFlashy
      @AngieHotandFlashy  9 років тому

      maremacd Yes, Argan oil goes on from ends to half way up, not roots. Thanks!

    Nice video! Thank you! My hair is similar (fine but lots of it; natural dark blond with highlights) and it's great to see new products to try. I am definitely going out for that Kiss thing!!
    I would love to see you review some Kevin Murphy products. They have been my miracle find; I even get compliments from my hairdresser on the condition of my hair (at age 61). They come in inconvenient, and expensive, gigantic containers, but one bottle of Hydrate Me shampoo lasts more than a year (without going 'off'). The Young Again treatment performed miracles when I got a bad process and now works for me as a daily detangler (only tiny amount needed). And the Full Again product is a good volumizer before blow-drying. The only product I haven't enjoyed is the hair spray, which had a strong scent that I could smell in my hair all day (wrinkle nose). By the way, all the Kevin Murphy products have goofy names. But they have certainly done great things for my hair, and the expense is completely balanced by how long the products last. Anyway, keep up the great work, Angie! You rock!

      Mindy Morales My co-worker told me she uses Kevin Murphy also and her hair looks fantastic! But, yes, they are expensive. Wasn't going to purchase, however, if they do last that long I'm going to have to give them a try. Thanks for the info! :o)

    Hi, I really like your videos, I have a question that is not the same topic, but I want to know if you can help me, I recently lose over 30lb and I having a big problem with my sagging neck, do you have any tips or products that I can use? I'm 55 years old, thnx!

      Aida Hidalgo Hi Aida~ Congratulations on your weight loss! I was listening to a doctor radio program the other day and your exact question came up… they said there's no topical cream that will lift the skin enough after weight loss. They recommended Ulthera which is an in-office treatment or a neck lift. Wish I could recommend a cream…

    Trust me you are not the only woman that is hair challenged. I am 49 and just now learning how to do my hair, sad right? I really enjoy your video's but I'm afraid I may have to stop watching, every time you recommend a hair tool or product I run out the next day and pick it up, because they work. I have the John Freida Rotating Brush, and love that. I then went out and picked up the KISS InstaWave, gonna give it a try today. Again thanks for the video's and I guess I'll just have to have hubby get a second job so I can continue to pick up the products you recommend. ;)

    I used to like your videos very much. When you hesitated to take out a little of Alterna Caviar CC Cream and swatch it, saying that stuff is liquid gold I was taken aback. That stuff was SEND TO YOU FOR FREE TO REVIEW. A pea sized swatch could have done it. I know it is a very odd reason but I lost something with you and won't be the same fan of yours.
