I proudly present to you my arrangement of "Light of the Seven" from the season 6 finale of Game of Thrones. Since the first time I listened to it from start to finish, I've been a huge fan of this piece, and had to cover it. Thank you to the fans who pushed me to do so, and for Halcyon Music for making the arrangement I based mine off of. Please enjoy as much as I did playing this.
From the middle to the end is completely SHOCKING! You are crazy! And so good in playing! Wow! It is the only word you may say after listening it... Big UP for you (Y)
You have reason to be proud! That was one of the coolest arrangements I've ever heard! ...and I listen to David Osborne and Player Piano, so I've heard a lot of really great music. I really like the epicosity of the sound you're getting and will probably steal some of those techniques in my own arrangements.
Thanks to you Kyle, thas awesome. I love the way you play! It's awesome to hear you max volume in my dept. Neighbours are hiring me soon...hahahaa thank you Kyle!!
Kyle's arrangements always start off with me thinking, 'yeah - I could play that with a bit of practice'. Then, somewhere around the midpoint, I begin thinking, 'right - it's going to take quite a lot of practice, but achievable'. Then Kyle breaks out his inner Chuck Norris and I feel compelled to sell my piano on eBay.
As soon as the song started in episode 10 I had to look for open tabs since I thought it was odd for this song to be playing. It felt so odd at first, so unlike GoT, but towards the end, it fit soooo well it gave me chills.
Yeah I noticed that too, and it distracted me from the visual content of the screen. People are commending how well the composition is for this scene; I personally found that the piano did not fit well and was quite jarring, but maybe that was the composers intention....
That was the intention indeed. They wanted us to feel out of place, in a strange atmosphere. The visuals didn't match with the sound, and we knew something was wrong. Definitely wrong.
+Polpol I was surprised at the use of piano, because Dijwadi normally sticks to instruments which would have been around during the time period GoT is based on, but it had me on the edge of my seat. I thought it was great.
I'm close to speechless, that was supreme. I often find there is no instrument that can transfer as much emotion as a piano. Thanks Kyle for this great performance, I hope to learn the piano and be this good at it.
i mean theoretically you can play 3 different meodie lines on the violin, but i am pretty sure that not even hilary hahn would have a easy time with that (and she is like the technical godess of violin playing) double stops and left hand pizzicato. so essentially you might also have to use your thumb
Kyle Landry... I have to admit, I wanted to doubt you. I really did. So many covers of such a popular GoT song. After truly listening to this cover, I just have to say I admire you. I could say I hate you for being so talented, but that would be false. You are beyond our comprehension. Godspeed my friend. You are beyond words.
I'll add a second comment, I've been drumming for 23 years, this dude is hitting keys like they're toms! they're keys, an inch in size! Absolutely amazing!
Kyle, I LOVE your music and your passion with each piece you play! I walked down the aisle to your "Go the Distance" arrangement and it was PERFECT. My husband and I enjoy your music so much!! You have given my marriage SO much music and beauty that we will forever keep in our hearts. Thank you for making music--the language that unites all of us regardless of different spoken language, religion, politics, ethnicity or whatever people find to divide us. You are SUPER AMAZING! WE LOVE YOU! Also, please do an arrangement on the "Night King" song in S8 Ep2???????
Bow down to you. You are the God of Piano. I think you have 2 full fledged brains ...one controls your left hand and the other your right ...and both are in perfect sync. Absolutely stunning!
WOW! This was spectacular. Not only are your technical abilities amazing but I really felt the emotion and soul of the piece come through with your intensity. I really don't know how you played that complex left handed part towards the end that fast! The final runs were equally impressive!! Best piano performance I've seen in a long time!!!
This was so beautiful that you had in me in tears. This made me realize how much I truly miss playing the piano. The emotion and passion in this piece...speechless. Thank you.
Every time I listen to one of your arrangements, I am left in awe. Being a fellow pianist, I know just how incredibly talented you are. I could only ever wish to ever play like you. Don't ever stop playing - bravo!
Aaaaaaaand now if u read this, please do a cover of "the night king" from s08e03. That would be so great if could hear that song from you, with that amazing style of playing piano.
When your favorite show and your favorite pianist collide. Daym. I also loved how you can feel the darkness coming from the start of the song where everything is so light and acute, to the end where it's heavy and wicked.
I have goosebumps - I am always so damn impressed with your work and your astounding talent, you have never failed to astonish me for years. Keep up the amazing work!
My God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You definitely have a spark of the divine in you!!!!!!!!! I wish it was possible to give you a standing ovation over the internet!!! Absolutely spine chilling!!!!!!
I'm actually working on that right now. It's much easier than you would think. I've been playing for a year now and have gotten most of it down within the last month
I've probably listened to a dozen or more piano adaptations of "Light of the Seven" on youtube and this is by far my favourite. I return to it every ionce in a while. It's just so wonderfully arranged and performed I can't stop listening to it.
If Kyle Landry would be to teach piano classes, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to attend every single one of them! Truly an inspiration Kyle, you impress me over and over again!
***** Well, yes haha my bad. I should've clarified, but I mean the jumps alongside the tempo in the left hand are more difficult than the jumps period in La Campanella. Anyways though, super gr8 job pal, I hope this becomes another popular interpretation
This is amazing, one of the best pieces ever made for a TV show. Just wondering, is it coming to your synthesia channel? Would like to learn it, no rush of course, this looks pretty insane to master :D SPOILER: . . . RIP Margaery ;(
+Theodor Nordstrand it's not my fault, I'm subscribed to Kyle Landry and I saw that he uploaded a new vid, what's wrong with that. It's the original posters fault for being a bitch and putting a major spoiler right in the beginning, not even giving me time to stop reading and scroll back up.
Alvins hot juicebox Sorry mate, but as far as I'm aware, my comment isn't the top comment, so you'd have had to do some pretty thorough comment surfing to find it. If you're on the internet this low in a comment section of a Game of Thrones Finale video, you seriously can't expect no spoilers. I simply asked Kyle if a tutorial was to be expected on his 2nd channel. Who's to say I wasn't simply making a false remark? It's been 3 days since the finale anyway, unless you've been otherwise occupied, you shouldn't really be caring so much about spoilers since you've left it so late to watch. Didn't know cancer was something to joke about, but sure, if your deluded mind says so.
Alvins hot juicebox Again with the cancer comment. You think it's funny? One thing to spoil one minor event that you don't even know how it happened, only that it happened; another to wish cancer upon a man you don't even know. It's like saying "Spider-man dies". Everyone dies eventually. It's just nice to find out how. What are the chances of someone transcribing this early? Maybe check back in a few days, but a few hours after the video releases? If Kyle had done it himself, it would be in the description. If you're moving house, why would you need transcribed music? You gunna play it on the piano in the moving truck? Stop with your stories. Just face to the facts.
Of all the youtube covers of Light of the Seven, this is by far my favourite. Find myself listening to this version more often than the official soundtrack, its a unique interpretation of a fantastic piece of music. Well done Kyle Landry
I listen to this cover and other cover countless time. Your cover still amazes me than all the others. The arrangement is so rich and dynamic in every way. Thank you so much for this wonderful cover.
Dude, I am so late on this. No matter. This is truly unique. Everything I've heard from you always has been. Lovely. Thank you, never stop. Even if your upload days end sometime, keep this talent alive.
How does this piece so adeptly capture a sense of ethereal beauty and the coming of winter, while at the same time evoking the deep dread and melancholy of the events unfolding on screen ?

Damn!'. Kyle - you are an absolute legend!
Patrick's version is as if whole soundtrack is played on piano without changing it a bit I love it This one is also good, but just that I liked the original theme while seeing Got i liked Patrick's more
The sheets he's reading is not in the good tone actually, you can see that kyle played it in c minor and not in d minor like it is supposed to be, so you must wait a while I guess.
Zoster X that's a minor problem. At least for a lot of other videos (and probably this one), he uses sheets from another version and then makes his own arrengement from those sheets. There is a high chance those sheets are only minimal for this version
+kylelandry Damn, I searched along time ago and didn't find anything and just now I searched and found it. Well... I should of check again before I said this. Anyways thanks for the reply!
+Slouiii yeah I just watched it and it only took me two seconds to find. I swear i searched awhile ago and couldn't find it. Either way me gots what me wanted.

you can be proud, it's just amazing ! I like the way you take to improvise, a lot of notes but all are justified, no superfluous. Your are very accurate when you play, and the emotion is definitly here ! félicitations, bravo !!!
This version is so much more emotional than the original. I feel like this is Tommen's version. All of this pain and devastation. His heart violently ripped out of his chest.
I've been watching your videos since 2008. I have to say I'm so proud of how you've come. You've improved greatly and established yourself as an pianist! Congrats.
You're correct, but only because the theme was mainly piano (don't get me wrong it had mad instrument nuts and mad themes like the opening sequence song) but this song did great justice to the event that took place!
that was the point. the show writers wanted something original so as to not completely spoil what was going to happen. had it just been another Rains of Castamere reiteration it would've been too obvious that something crazy was about to happen.
Alex Nagel that's funny you should say that, because i feel like the out of place music did spoil that scene, you knew something bad/strange was going to happen because the music was so different. for me the piano really killed my immersion. it was like i was watching a montage video of GoT clips over a modern piano piece. if Light of the Seven was played using different instruments i think it would've been better.
+kupotenshi reminds me of the Jerusalem scene in World War Z. Every project or idea that group had, no matter how good it was, no matter how correct it seemed, even if everyone else seemed to give it critical acclaim, there was always suppose to be that one guy who disagreed, no matter how wrong he may have been or ended up being............. ; )

Semantic Samuel Same! 😏
me too
Same to me jajajaja
I’m not a pro but i have over 15 years of experience. And yet it took me several months to become able to play Kyle’s interstellar arrangement
I have only 4 years practice and I want to cry
This song was unique in Game of Thrones. The first use of the piano in the series music.
As soon as the song started in episode 10 I had to look for open tabs since I thought it was odd for this song to be playing. It felt so odd at first, so unlike GoT, but towards the end, it fit soooo well it gave me chills.

very well said
>I often find there is no instrument that can transfer as much emotion as a piano.
The cello??
cello and other strings are pretty limited cause you can't play more than 3 notes at the same time or even play seperate melodies
i mean theoretically you can play 3 different meodie lines on the violin, but i am pretty sure that not even hilary hahn would have a easy time with that (and she is like the technical godess of violin playing) double stops and left hand pizzicato. so essentially you might also have to use your thumb
lets just agree that all instruments can do that, depending on how good the player is, okay?
Please do a cover of THE NIGHT KING
From GOT S8E3
It'd be amazing!
You should upload it at 60fps, because, in the last third of the song, *24fps can't keep up with your left hand.*
/r/pcmasterrace, amirite?
at 8:15 is literally starts warping between octaves
He just got three more fingers there.
Wow. Coming from a professional musician and music teacher (and a huge GOT fan), I am in awe of your arrangement and performance. Never stop.
Kyle Landry... I have to admit, I wanted to doubt you. I really did. So many covers of such a popular GoT song. After truly listening to this cover, I just have to say I admire you. Seven blessings to you for this cover.
I'll add a second comment, I've been drumming for 23 years, this dude is hitting keys like they're toms! they're keys, an inch in size! Absolutely amazing!
Those graceful gestures and your love for piano made this song ten times better

Great as always Kyle.
@@danaroonyncheese1994 ?
@@LucasKingPiano I found an old comment of yours with no replies, so I just said something, lol.
Lucas!
Really fucking good. I'm blown away by how little you have to look at your left hand and how accurate you are over such a long, complex piece.
Every time I listen to one of your arrangements, I am left in awe. Being a fellow pianist, I know just how incredibly talented you are. I could only ever wish to ever play like you. Don't ever stop playing - bravo!
Okay so who pissed off Kyle why is he plotting to burn us all.
why you no donate for Steinway?!
Where's your god now?!?
shame. shame. shame. shame. shame. shame.
Aaaaaaaand now if u read this, please do a cover of "the night king" from s08e03. That would be so great if could hear that song from you, with that amazing style of playing piano.
And share sheets 👌
His hands just flies. Crazy playing.
This was pretty good. But can you play Mary Had a Little Lamb?

This is pure beauty, passion & perfection Kyle. Love what you do.
Can you please do the new Night King song from the end of Season 8 Episode 3?
I second that! Plz.

That bit starting at 6:10 gives me shivers everytime
I listened this about 100+ times and each time like first one. There none other who could make such amazing cover. Thank you
I can't believe how fast his hands are moving at 8:20
I was about to make the same comment, His left hand is so fast the camera can't keep up and it literally warps between octaves.
Charles Xavier this is a timelaps
WOW WOW WOW, speechless, well done, you have so much talent, i would pay to see you play live ! Come to Paris
Hey, could you do a cover of Hungarian Rhapsody no 2 pretty please :D?
Uhh that would be pretty nice.
I'd really like to see him play some advanced classic stuff like Schubert Liszt Ave Maria aswell^^
I'm actually working on that right now. It's much easier than you would think. I've been playing for a year now and have gotten most of it down within the last month
Im more on the side of Beethoven, Mozart and Handel and Bizet
A man needs more skills for that
I've probably listened to a dozen or more piano adaptations of "Light of the Seven" on youtube and this is by far my favourite. I return to it every ionce in a while. It's just so wonderfully arranged and performed I can't stop listening to it.

I think I’m addicted to this song, several times a day it blows my mind. Thank you Kyle you god damn legend 🖐🤚🔥🔥
This is so incredible!
If Kyle Landry would be to teach piano classes, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to attend every single one of them! Truly an inspiration Kyle, you impress me over and over again!
That left hand literally has to be more technically demanding than La Campanella. I commend you
La Campanella is more of right hand piece :p
***** Well, yes haha my bad. I should've clarified, but I mean the jumps alongside the tempo in the left hand are more difficult than the jumps period in La Campanella. Anyways though, super gr8 job pal, I hope this becomes another popular interpretation

WTF that LEFT HAND!!!
This cover is freaking amazing and deserves greater attention...
seven hells! this is beautiful
Seriously one of your greatest arrangements ever.
you are unbelievable Kyle!
I wish to play like you someday.keep inspiring your followers :)
What an incredible, beautifully haunting masterpiece you have pulled off here.
This is amazing, one of the best pieces ever made for a TV show. Just wondering, is it coming to your synthesia channel? Would like to learn it, no rush of course, this looks pretty insane to master :D

7 blessings to you man!!!!!!!!!!!! awesome!!!!!
Not sure how anyone could not like your cover. You gave you own emphasis on certain parts of the piece, and I loved it!
it's like watching the transformation of Cersie
Watching a Kyle Landry video, one goes through a fairly standard set of emotions:
- Peace
-Tranquility
-Excitement
-Awe
-Disbelief
And always ending with a feeling which I don't think has a name, but its the feeling you get when you first see the Grand Canyon in the flesh, when you can actually feel your brain stretching to encompass the reality of this sheer awesomeness; like your mind is going 'oh shit! so this is a thing? Damn!'.
Kyle - you are an absolute legend!
Getting a fanbase, are we? Don't forget us when you're the President.
Getting? It's been here for a long time...
Very true. I'd vote for him, how 'bout you?
+Zwelf Angasten vote Kanye 2020
I must say you really did this justice, the feels is unbelievable. and with the episode so fresh on my mind it's perfect.
Kyle kyle kyle, why are you so freaking amazing?! Your left hand is just going nuts!! @_@
;-)
My goodness!! What an amazing piece of music!! Love it Kyle, you did a fantastic job!!! Just brilliant!!!
Perfect as always!
Check out my own Light of the Seven piano cover and tutorial !
wow! not bad!
nice
It's even better!
Sorry Kyle
good job
excellent work!
JESUS CHRIST!!! that masterpiece made me shake my head in disbelief and almost made me shed a tear!! Awesome job!
Woah woah wait. You do requests now? Where's our requiem for a dream variations then?
Hearing you play this so beautifully makes me want to play the piano, amazing cover.
Why have you modified the midi sound? You aren't playing in the piano the exactly notes we're hearing, they're all 1 tone up.
Interesting.
ever heard of transposing?
Ever heard of I'm just asking why he did that?
Perhaps less strain on the fingers? I'm no expert but I'd like to think playing that fast with even more accidentals wouldn't be easy.
probably, it just sounds better in that key
7:36-10:11 Pure brilliance... actually, scratch that. This entire arrangement was brilliant!
I opened my mouth at the beginning of the video and didnt close it till the end.. oh my god!
Wow, one of my favourite pieces of music and your arrangmet is gifted. Thank you!
Kyle, what did u like about this piece when u heard it for the 1st time?
How long, developed, and deep it was. It is truly unique :)
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL
Strangely enough, Game of Thrones isn't a show I associate as musical. Fantastic none the less, Kyle.
Thank you for this comment.
2 years later and nobody else's piano version touches this one. Great job man.
Green Envy patrik pietschmann’s cover might
Patrick's version is as if whole soundtrack is played on piano without changing it a bit
I love it
This one is also good, but just that I liked the original theme while seeing Got i liked Patrick's more
I see you've got the sheets for it. Can you share them with us?
Look at his website+forum (you'll need to sign up first before you can see the whole forum)
yup me neither
+Nikos Gavra then you can request the song on the forum to be transcribed. It takes some time and this song is new
The sheets he's reading is not in the good tone actually, you can see that kyle played it in c minor and not in d minor like it is supposed to be, so you must wait a while I guess.
Zoster X that's a minor problem. At least for a lot of other videos (and probably this one), he uses sheets from another version and then makes his own arrengement from those sheets. There is a high chance those sheets are only minimal for this version
BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO you did this song great justice and made it even better than the original. I love your style.
Omg you did it so fast
This piece resonated with me for some reason!
that what she says
Could you please publish the sheets of this piece?
This is the very definition of “hauntingly beautiful”
A year later, still not human
Great!! Great! Great!!! haunting rendition that you 'bring' the feeling to.
When a saw the title I was like : NO...............NO WAY................. YES
I watched again and again. The movement in your left hand is awesome.
hidarite ga sugoi.
This is great! Although... although... WHERES THE MAIN THEME! Me wants the main theme!
He already covered it ;)
I have covered it before, and there is snippets of the Main Theme in this piece!
See :) senpai said so as well :D
+kylelandry Damn, I searched along time ago and didn't find anything and just now I searched and found it. Well... I should of check again before I said this. Anyways thanks for the reply!
+Slouiii yeah I just watched it and it only took me two seconds to find. I swear i searched awhile ago and couldn't find it. Either way me gots what me wanted.
just got done watching this episode and had to come back to your channel and hear it from you. man bravo! gdamnit you are such a great artist and this is such a powerful piece.
hey kyle. Can you cover Echo from Foxex? its a really gerd song! :)

+1
I tuned into your stream for the first time last night. Of course I wasn't let down. I hoped that out of everything you played, this would make it to UA-cam, and here it is. Amazing as always, Kyle.
I want to see if he can do Tokyo Ghoul - Unravel
he can play anything. honestly.... not even exaggerating
too easy for him..
animenz ever do it
Kyle can basically play everything, the thing is :
- does HE like the song ?
- if it's a difficult one, is the time spent working on it worth it ?
- that's pretty much it actually
He did played it in live stream, and that was very nice
you can be proud, it's just amazing ! I like the way you take to improvise, a lot of notes but all are justified, no superfluous. Your are very accurate when you play, and the emotion is definitly here ! félicitations, bravo !!!

A man is someone. I love you for this.
It's quite hard for me to believe that you actually took a request
Probably since he wanted to do it anyways :P
Didn't know we were retards for simply enjoying the music of an amazing arranger, composer and performer. Your logic beats the best of us.
+iNathh ...wut?
+iNathh ?
The guy deleted his comment. He said that Kyle's 500k followers were retards for following him and not getting recognised.
You are truly inspiring. Incredible performance
you're not from this earth.
I've been watching your videos since 2008. I have to say I'm so proud of how you've come. You've improved greatly and established yourself as an pianist! Congrats.

It's truly amazing, like angels music. Thanks for sharing!
beautiful! but this song felt so out of place in the GoT universe.
You're correct, but only because the theme was mainly piano (don't get me wrong it had mad instrument nuts and mad themes like the opening sequence song) but this song did great justice to the event that took place!
that was the point. the show writers wanted something original so as to not completely spoil what was going to happen. had it just been another Rains of Castamere reiteration it would've been too obvious that something crazy was about to happen.

that's funny you should say that, because i feel like the out of place music did spoil that scene, you knew something bad/strange was going to happen because the music was so different.
for me the piano really killed my immersion. it was like i was watching a montage video of GoT clips over a modern piano piece. if Light of the Seven was played using different instruments i think it would've been better.
+kupotenshi reminds me of the Jerusalem scene in World War Z. Every project or idea that group had, no matter how good it was, no matter how correct it seemed, even if everyone else seemed to give it critical acclaim, there was always suppose to be that one guy who disagreed, no matter how wrong he may have been or ended up being............. ; )
