BMP-2 is really quite good, but it does suffer from the same problem almost every ifv in the game has where it has a very bad stock grind
for me it was the exact opposite, the Soviet AFV line as a whole were very easy to research and play with, even with unfinished modifications; it went for me such way, even with the older 11 second reload PT-76B, and the ASU-57.
The armament on all of the vehicles for good flanking playstyle, comes with stock settings

Protection? Russian tanks are covered in ERA but it doesn’t help at all against kinetic munitions. NATO tanks are made of composite materials.
Mobility? Yea this 100% goes to NATO vehicles. Better engines, better transmissions, less ground pressure, better cooling systems, etc. Russian shit also can’t even reverse, or neutral steer lol.
Ergonomics? NATO tanks have better fire control systems, more crew protection, more crew comfort, and overall survivability.
