Thanks for the info on the module replacement, this is a good and informative video. I had the hyper flash intermittently on my left signal and the right always worked correctly. I watched your video and found that I was able to remove and replace the unit without disassembly of the dash. I put my big fat hand up under the dash, (got some scratches), on the left of the parking brake release and was able to pull it out and it went in easily. This solved my issue and the module fit so well, You'd think it was made for it 😉
Ah, the slight screwdriver pry made all the difference. Unfortunately, I found your video after a hour of trying everything else, including having my wife get in there with her smaller hands. My truck could cartwheel five times and catch on fire and that relay will still be in its slot...guess it's better than having everything done by a BCM like the later modules. Gonna love the one I'm with! (truck and wife!!!).
Nice video I looked in that place under the dash on my 2013 Chevy Silverado truck. I looked behind the factory-installed trailer brake control, and found no flashing device. And the noise of blinking comes from the driver's side speaker in the door. I think that's just a simulator sound. Looks like I'll have to put in those stupid resistors and make sure to put them in a cold spot so they don't catch my truck on fire. Dammit!! I looked for an hour to try and find it so I can match it up so I can replace it with an LED friendly model. You know fix hyper flashing. But have not been successful yet, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
Yeah this is only for the older gm trucks. The newer trucks u will most likely need to do resistors and yes all the chime sounds are played through the speakers. U can get rid of them when u install a aftermarket stereo and just delete the speaker option for it.
I took mine out by just reaching under the dash up by the e-break I didn’t need to take anything apart at all. Same truck as well. Lol 😂 took 30 seconds to change
Hey Rikki Diesel Do you know what it means when you buy a new pair of VIPMOTZ smoked tinted tail lights for my 2004 chevy silve and only one side, the left side, has the hyper flash, is it usually one side that hyper blinks, when you switch to led taillights or is it both? I cant tell if i need to buy the LM187 or is ther something else i can do to solve the problem? Not sure what my situation is, i got the right blinker jst the speed i want but the left is hyper. Not sure what that means? Your help would be highly appreciated. Not really wanting to spend 60$ on the LM187 you suggested, do you know any other work around to slow down or even jst mute left blink noise, on the inside blinking noise. loud annoying seeded up if you know what i mean.
If its just one side then mabey your front turn signal is out. If one bulb is out then that side will hyper flash. Also the led tail lights it self won't cause the hyper flash cause they have electronics inside it to prevent it but if u change your front turn signals to leds it will cause hyper flash but check your front bulbs and see if they are blown
Changed this in my 03 sierra Duramax thinking it was gonna be the same thing, it works and no more hyper flashing but every time I apply the brakes my turn signals light up like they are brake lights. I’m stumped
I replaced all bulbs added led all the way around, I’ve been having problems with the reverse lights not coming on(checked the fuse, not blown) just wondering if I have a bad ground somewhere
Bought both the flasher and the switchback leds. Went to go install them today and for some reason they're not working right for me. They stay lit in the white setting and on my dash it shows both turn signals on. Signals don't work either. Any idea what's causing them to not work right?
Mabey flip the bulbs? Take the relay out and put the stock one in and see if they turn orange but they will hyper flash but if they turn orange..mabey a faulty led relay?
I would put the stock relay in with the led bulbs and that will tell you if u got bad bulbs or a bad relay unless there is something up with the wiring if it still doesn't change orange
Tried everything you said. Nothing worked. I believe it might be the leds itself? Bad batch possibly. Going to be returning them for another set. New ones should come on Tuesday. At least my hyperflash is gone lol. Thanks for the help tho

@TheKnightsBurrito o u have aftermarket headlights. Yeah they wired the aftermarket headlights wired to the turn signal power. U need to re wire them to only get power from one of the three wires. On led tailgate strips..I don't 😢 sorry but I might think something is wrong with the strips if it's just the strip hyper blinking. If it's the whole truck then u might have a bad bulb on the truck
