Spark cutoff is nuts on this car. Once it did while I was coasting in neutral, thinking I'm going 120mph, and it killed the engine. At night. Hamster dance is life.
It's amazing how much fun speed sensors can create when they decide to go out to lunch. I've seen a car that had had some welding done on it, after that the speedometer operated in reverse, i.e. it started off at 150mph and went down as the car accelerated, and I saw an E34 525TD auto that insisted it was travelling at 155mph all the time the ignition was on, even if the car was not moving. A BMW 525TD auto could only dream of getting to 155, with the lower power diesel strapped to a self-shifter 110 was pretty much it...
Hey David, I have 89, 535i and the problem I have is that the speedometer is acting up one minute it’s fine then everything goes off, nothing works fuel gauge, computer, Speedometer etc. Can you help me?

My old Volvo went past the maximum number on the speedometer. And then it would cut of completely. It was fun every time
