Hello. I am from Poland (Lublin). I spent whole night helping ukrainian refugees (women and children, older people) on the bus station as many other people here. They were scared, sometimes crying, looking for accomodation or going fether to the europe or world.
Belive me I feel so sorry for the Ukrainians and young Russian soldiers wo does not know anthing about the world (I saw in YT those are 18-20 "pacany") and their families (every one have mothers, fathers or wifes and children).
We are helping people here.

There are two large areas within the Ukraine that are INDEPENDENT of the Ukraine. They are the DPR (Donetsk People's Republic) and the LPR (Luhansk People's Republic).
BOTH areas receive humanitarian aid from Russia because the Ukrainian government refuses to do anything for them.
The Ukrainian government has begun to systematically kill the people of the DPR and the LPR by bombing them, starving them and sending in the Ukrainian military to murder them. * This would be like the people of Puerto Rico being slaughtered by the Cuban government and Jamaican terrorists, and asking America for help. No difference at all.
There are also actual Neo-Nazi terrorist groups dug in deep in the Ukrainian countryside that assist the Ukrainian army in the genocide of the DPR and the LPR citizens. There are also illegal bio-weapons labs in the Ukraine.
There is also a horrific human trafficking network in the Ukrainian capital. Putin is the only world leader (now that Trump is no longer in office), that is willing to help the people in the DPR and the LPR AND rid the country of the Neo-Nazi faction, protect the citizens of the DPR and the LPR, destroy the bio-weapons labs and annihilate the human trafficking network.
Putin has exhausted ALL avenues of resolve. As @Ararune pointed out, the difference is, I can listen to many news sources and have been taught critical thinking skills to make sense of what's true and what's not. For example, I ALWAYS make sure to listen to at least 2 news sources that are not from the US. Since I also speak Spanish, I'll often read El País, which is a newspaper from Spain. I'll often listen to news from a country in Latin America. I also listen to to Spanish people living in Australia (believe it or not!) talking about world news. Then I also listen to the BBC, along with the New York Times and Washington post.
Btw, this is why I always found the question that Katie Couric asked Sarah Palin (which news sources do you consume) a great one. As you said, every news source has their biases and the only way to guard against it is to get your news from multiple sources.

The governor of Mykolaiv region has announced he fears the current silence is the calm before the storm. My fears run in parallel. There has been silence since sunset. Earlier today the explosions were incessant, it started at first daylight. Long series of artillery fire from within the city rhythmically similar to a drum roll and frequent harsh explosions from large missile impacts tore through the silence of a dreary day. Impact artillery shells, not serial as the firing booms, came periodically to disrupt the day. When close enough to shake the foundations, we feel the wrath of Putin coming down on us, as is happening this instant, series, less than a minute apart, are hitting the airfield north of here. Gloom is hanging over my usual up-beat spirit.
There comes a time when the fear of causing a nuclear catastrophe cannot become the excuse for lack of support to save the population of civilian victims of this vulgar, medieval attack on human values due to the anger of one diminutive, uneducated man with a grudge. He will never succeed in making a partner he rapes return the pain as love. Ukraine will never surrender to become a willing slave to this Kremlin clown. Again the impact of Russian artillery breaks the silence and vibrates the foundations, twice, since the start of writing this paragraph.

Russia is a now police state in which the police protect the state, not the people. Just like it was during the Soviet era. Small public protests in Russia are now futile and self defeating. Only a mass protest by millions of people all at once can change things in Russia now. Like the mass protest against Nicolae Ceausescu in Rumania in 1989.
