  • Use summer, sunny days to trim the leafy hedge. This is a necessary procedure, which we must remember if we want to have a thick, green wall. Some hedge the hedge once a year, others even 2-3 times a year. Thanks to this, we prevent the formation of unsightly clearances and the trees or shrubs planted in the row are spreading thickly from the bottom, not only in the higher parts of the crowns.
If our hedge has already reached the desired height and width, we must take care of cutting down shoots that run beyond the set boundaries of the row. The most accurate way to do this is by marking the place of cutting with a tight string. If we do not care about a perfectly formed body, we can make an eye cut.
An example of a hardwood hedge formed may be a hedgehog formed from hornbeam. With regular cutting, these plants produce a lot of tree root growth and form a dense, green wall. It is a hedge of glossy cotoneaster. You can let it grow freely, or you can cut it to the height and width that suits us.
Hedges should be trimmed from the top, as well as their sides along the entire width. At first, this treatment can be performed with hedge trimmers, and in the case of an already large or tall tower, with an internal combustion device or electric powered from a mains or battery. Since trimming hedges often requires work overhead, it is worth choosing a device that can be set and adjusted accordingly.
Most hedges can be pruned in the spring, but remember that some deciduous trees and shrubs can be cut only in the summer, after the development of leaves, because the spring cutting exposes them to the so-called. "The effect of crying". This is due to the abundant secretion of juices from the wound site. If we cut these plants in spring, they will be weakened and their wounds are difficult to heal. These species include hornbeams, maples and birches.
Trimming hedges should not be scared, just the opposite. After this treatment, they will gain in beauty, they will be healthier, stronger and more dense. Their cutting should be taken care of from the moment of planting, especially in the case of hardwood hedges.

Witam. Mowa o żywopłotach to czy tuje można również w lipcu przycinać? Chciałbym przyciąć 25cm z krzewu wysokiego na 190cm. Czy po zabiegu nie zaczną brązowieć? Dziękuję.
