I miss Germany so much. I should have gone to the University of Heidelberg but came back to USA after graduated high school at Mannheim American High School. I had my junior prom at the Heidelberg Castle and me and my parents often visited Heidelberg. Favorite castle in Germany.

I actually went back to Heidelberg many years later from 2009-2013 as a DoD employee...and was there to see it close down. Coleman Barracks in Mannheim (the prison) was like the only thing in the Rhein-Neckar region still open AFTER 2013.
Stationed in Germany with the US Army in the 70's and 80's and Heidelberg was one of my favorite places to visit when I had some time off. Fantastic memories and thanks for sharing the video with the rest of the You Tube world.

The viewpoint is actually accessible two ways; uphill or upwards 300 stairs! Also there's a second across the river on a path called 'Philosophenweg' which is steeper but allows for one of the most gorgeous views over the city and, in good weather, even Mannheim, the neighboring city
