Hi, Thanks for shairng the Awesome videos. I have a small dought could you help me. for iDRAC did you purchase license separtely from server monkey or you did you get exsisting license?. could you please tell me. i heard and watched some videos they are saying we need license in order to access iDRAC. If we need to purchase do we need once in a life time or every upgrade
Dell r6525 here....i just wish it was that simple. i mean configuring the RAID was ok, but the Windows installation goes bad. Got stuck on Windows logo right after it picks the iso file and starts. disabled VT on the BIOS to no avail. waiting for a dell tech call......we got hp servers for the past 3 ou 4 years no problems whatsoever, and im really sorry we went to dell again.... :(
Hi Bernard. Love your videos. However, configuring the R620 is a booger! I purchased 3 recently, at a great price, and am still trying to figure this thing out on the first server. I'll eventually figure it out. I always do. And as a reward for doing this, I'll have to do it 2 more times, LOL. Man, I can't wait for my reward.
I recommend you never install an os especially a server os on a flash drive always put that on a harddrive or ssd. The flash drive has drastically less read and write life cycles and in about a hear you will see the box is off you try to boot and nothing. They fry very quick if you install the os on a flash stick.
Good choice, RAID 5 is data suicide, especially when a drive fails. Parity RAID is dead. In modern IT, its either Raid 10 or Software RAID (ZFS/Storage Spaces Direct)
RAID configuration on the Dell PowerEdge R620 is completed. Next, we need to install the operating system.
Stumbled across this channel tody...what a gold mine!
That pointer to check the raid card saved my bacon. Thanks. ;)
on 2:40 he says he will select all 8 of his drive but i only see 2 on the bottom.... am i missing something?

But you only did 2 disks?
On the screen it only showed two, but I did a select all and all 8 drives were selected. Thanks for watching and be safe.
