Something I love about this cover is the lyrics and how Magolor views himself. He isn’t blaming the Crown for everything that happened. Magolor knows that this was all his fault, he brought this upon himself, and now it’s up to him to face penance to have any chance at redemption. He must destroy the Crown to ensure no one else becomes greedy and has their soul destroyed as a result.

Fun fact! In an interview, the Kirby devs said that they gave Magolor's outfit yellow coloring because yellow is associated with betrayal thanks to Judas--yes, THAT Judas. And in the epilogue, Magolor goes on a journey of potential penance as he collects slices of an apple which is implied to be a stand-in for the apple of Eden. So not only do we have Norse connotations in the form of Mistilteinn, we have Christian connotations--both in a KIRBY GAME. God, I love this series.

Mistilteinn (Translating as Mistltoe) is a legendary sword in Icelandic/Scandinavian mythology. it originated as a celtic sword from Gaul, and the King who used it became a Zombie who attempted a conquest of Norway before being slain by Folk hero/Viking legend Hrómundr, who then used it as his sword throughout his Sagas. It’s also important to note that the swords name Translates to Mistletoe, and a actual Mistletoe branch was also used by the magical trickster God Loki when he betrayed Baldr in Viking mythology. What I’m saying is it’s probably intentional that the Kirby devs gave Magolor, the Betrayer and trickster who survives death, a mighty sword with connections to both the afterlife and Loki.
I love how somebody always steps in to explain the context behind the name Mistilteinn under every video related to this song. It's the Roche Limit all over again. That being said it's really interesting that they'd go this deep to reference mythology, even by Kirby standards

I like how you can incorporate remorseful / vengeful versions of some of the lyrics from your Crowned cover. I also like how emotional the lyrics get with Magolor facing the personification of his past mistakes. I especially like how Magolor has a constant vibe of “I don’t deserve forgiveness for what I’ve done, but I still have to set things right.”
Magolor may not have deserved forgiveness originally, but after what he's been through, I think he's earned it. Plus, Kirby is a nice guy, as long as Magolor shows that he's truly changed his ways, Kirby is more than happy to forgive.
What a journey Magolor’s been on. He befriended Kirby and tricked him into helping him get the Master Crown. He gained immense power, but the darkness in his heart grew. Then the crown took over his mind and body, making him realize the errors of his ways. Then he got really hyped up on caffeine, but don’t think that’s canon. And now he’s atoning for his sins by defeating both the crown and the darkness in his heart and returning to the light. And then of course he became Microtransactionlor. I like how the entire idea of Magolor Epilogue is Magolor in his own personal Hell for his crimes. But I love how the entire thing shows his growth from just a traitor to a hero who has truly learned from his actions, but only by going through his own personal Hell.

I was NOT expecting a tree as a final boss at ALL. During the "Dangerous Dinner" levels, I noticed more foliage placed and pointed that out to my brother who was co-oping with me. I joked and said "if this is part of the lore, I will STOP playing." Then I started to sweat during the Interdimensional Traveler mode when the bosses were reimagined bosses of the main mode, but we didn't encounter Whispy Woods. On another note, I literally teared up with this cover and the Magolor Collection DX, you gave Magolor so much raw emotion and character! Thanks for blessing our ears again, mighty Juno!

I like how this time it wasn't the villain singing the song it was magolor cuz he was once of it and is now redeeming himself ( also this song cover actually gave me nostalgia listening to the original c-r-o-w-d-e-d cover )
Spoilers for the song itself below! Listen to the cover because I'm just going to talk about some of what I considered the best parts. Just gonna put down a couple of my favourite lines: the internal rhyme structure of "All I can *do for* now is *move for*ward, never bow", and then the minor plant puns with "Now you *tangle* with me" and "I'm the one who *rose* past your corruption". Of course, I have to mention the title drop at the end of the song. Then Atone For One's Misdeeds having the reference to the Under My Control cover is just a clever addition to an already amazing cover. And that part where Kirby's name shows up when the key switches to major and the instrumentation becomes lighter, followed by the softer delivery of Magolor's next guilt-ridden lines? It turns a boss song cover into a wonderful glimpse into Magolor's own psyche. That's one egg redemption Juno style. Not to mention the last lines "Tear the mistletoe off of the tree/And set the seed of my redemption free" being entirely B4 without falsetto (from what I can tell) is a seriously impressive feat. We've been waiting for this cover a while but it still exceeded expectations, man. Awesome lyricization, absolutely worth the wait!
Truly worth the wait I'm so happy about how well you sell the idea of my boy's redemption, in C R O W N E D he sounds distraught and sorry about betraying Kirby and his friends, and in Mistilteinn he sounds furious towards the power that once tempted him showing its unique eye once again, and proud of the challenges he has overcome in order to become a better person Calling the Crown a "monster", a "weed" and a "mistletoe" ('course I get that it's the name of the song but it still) shows how far Magolor has come, realising the ornament he coveted is no more than an evil parasite looking for a host to control and use to cause pain throughout the universe, thus he has no more respect for it and only wants it gone so he can move past it and start a new beggining alongside Kirby and his friends I can't tell you how much I love your songs, and you really outdid yourself on this new addition to your collection of masterpieces ! The artworks, the voice work, the lyrics, everything is on point for this last chapter in our favourite mage's character arc, and I believe you deserve all the praises I can muster for it. Thank you Juno, for your downright amazing work !
OKAY THIS WAS RAW AS FUCK OH MY GOD??? tree crown without a ruler is up there as one of my favorite final boss themes of all time, and when i saw the premiere for this i was SO excited to see you cover it, and you somehow did it more justice than i expected, and those expectations were HIGH i got genuine goosebumps listening to this- i have not had that feeling while watching a video in a while...
um, actually this tree is the master crown, and it's magic gem fruit are based on the forbidden fruit in the bible, hence the tree's slightly biblically accurate design. ☝🤓

I really love the theme of Magalor saga songs being that of redemption for the character bc your voice really emphasizes how much guilt Magalor has for his crimes. Great job dude!
If you think about it, Magolor's entire story is one huge biblical reference: -Magolor wants to get the master crown for limitless power; -told by a demon to seek help from the Kirby equivalent of Jesus (Kirby himself); -pretends to be friends with those that can help him, then betrays them once his goal is reached; -gets quickly overwhelmed by the power and has his soul corrupted for the master crown's purpose of reality domination; -defeated by the creature representing positivity and friendship itself and sent to hell; -goes on a journey to repent by gathering magical pieces of the forbidden fruit and destroying the thing that tempted and corrupted him; -establishes capitalism.
An excellent cover. Lyrics woven intricately with true meaning and power behind them. Art created to express the intense struggle of Magolor to this point. I love how this concludes off the Magolor saga not just from the game but from how you portrayed him in your other covers. The triumphant callbacks to CROWNED in particular were expertly done, amazing work!
Beautiful cover man. You can really hear the tone in Magolor's voice that he truly regrets his actions in betraying his friends that shown him kindness only to get a crown that almost ended up killing him. And him facing the very thing that nearly destroyed him and saying 2:32 is probably the coolest thing I've seen in one of these lyric covers. It's still pretty funny tho how AFTER he defeated the very thing he wanted, that he immediately resorts to capitalism in his path for redemption. Either way we still love our magician egg.
They lyrics of "Settling a Score: Atone for One's Misdeeds!" are incredible and the dialog preceeding it get a smile out of me every time. What a contrast to your Unfair Magolor Soul cover!

I didn't notice before that the master crown has the stars used to indicate when something can be broken with the ultra abilities, that's a pretty cool detail when you know the end of the fight
my friend had this theory that the Master Crown isn’t a cursed artifact, it’s a Dark Matter that’s shapeshifted into, sealed inside, or possessed a crown (that gem being it’s eye) with the intent of mutating Magolor into a new Zero after the old one was defeated by kirby as the form Magolor’s second phase takes after losing control has that giant creepy eye-mouth and loses all elements of another other than a spherical body, the implicating being that his old eyes would have been lost as that eye grew into the main one with his hands turning into 02′s angelic wings and the crown itself into that halo he has. I don’t know if this is especially likely, it’s quite a stretch, but it’s cool as shit. also this would make this final fight against the Master Crown much more potent then it already was as that could very well mark the extinction of the Dark Matters.

He befriended Kirby and tricked him into helping him get the Master Crown. He gained immense power, but the darkness in his heart grew. Then the crown took over his mind and body, making him realize the errors of his ways. Then he got really hyped up on caffeine, but don’t think that’s canon. And now he’s atoning for his sins by defeating both the crown and the darkness in his heart and returning to the light.
And then of course he became Microtransactionlor.

I like how the entire idea of Magolor Epilogue is Magolor in his own personal Hell for his crimes. But I love how the entire thing shows his growth from just a traitor to a hero who has truly learned from his actions, but only by going through his own personal Hell.

I was NOT expecting a tree as a final boss at ALL. During the "Dangerous Dinner" levels, I noticed more foliage placed and pointed that out to my brother who was co-oping with me. I joked and said "if this is part of the lore, I will STOP playing." Then I started to sweat during the Interdimensional Traveler mode when the bosses were reimagined bosses of the main mode, but we didn't encounter Whispy Woods.
On another note, I literally teared up with this cover and the Magolor Collection DX, you gave Magolor so much raw emotion and character! Thanks for blessing our ears again, mighty Juno!

Spoilers for the song itself below! Listen to the cover because I'm just going to talk about some of what I considered the best parts.
Just gonna put down a couple of my favourite lines: the internal rhyme structure of "All I can *do for* now is *move for*ward, never bow", and then the minor plant puns with "Now you *tangle* with me" and "I'm the one who *rose* past your corruption". Of course, I have to mention the title drop at the end of the song. Then Atone For One's Misdeeds having the reference to the Under My Control cover is just a clever addition to an already amazing cover.
And that part where Kirby's name shows up when the key switches to major and the instrumentation becomes lighter, followed by the softer delivery of Magolor's next guilt-ridden lines? It turns a boss song cover into a wonderful glimpse into Magolor's own psyche. That's one egg redemption Juno style.
Not to mention the last lines "Tear the mistletoe off of the tree/And set the seed of my redemption free" being entirely B4 without falsetto (from what I can tell) is a seriously impressive feat.
We've been waiting for this cover a while but it still exceeded expectations, man. Awesome lyricization, absolutely worth the wait!

I'm so happy about how well you sell the idea of my boy's redemption, in C R O W N E D he sounds distraught and sorry about betraying Kirby and his friends, and in Mistilteinn he sounds furious towards the power that once tempted him showing its unique eye once again, and proud of the challenges he has overcome in order to become a better person
Calling the Crown a "monster", a "weed" and a "mistletoe" ('course I get that it's the name of the song but it still) shows how far Magolor has come, realising the ornament he coveted is no more than an evil parasite looking for a host to control and use to cause pain throughout the universe, thus he has no more respect for it and only wants it gone so he can move past it and start a new beggining alongside Kirby and his friends
I can't tell you how much I love your songs, and you really outdid yourself on this new addition to your collection of masterpieces ! The artworks, the voice work, the lyrics, everything is on point for this last chapter in our favourite mage's character arc, and I believe you deserve all the praises I can muster for it. Thank you Juno, for your downright amazing work !

If you think about it, Magolor's entire story is one huge biblical reference:
-Magolor wants to get the master crown for limitless power;
-told by a demon to seek help from the Kirby equivalent of Jesus (Kirby himself);
-pretends to be friends with those that can help him, then betrays them once his goal is reached;
-gets quickly overwhelmed by the power and has his soul corrupted for the master crown's purpose of reality domination;
-defeated by the creature representing positivity and friendship itself and sent to hell;
-goes on a journey to repent by gathering magical pieces of the forbidden fruit and destroying the thing that tempted and corrupted him;
-establishes capitalism.

I love how this concludes off the Magolor saga not just from the game but from how you portrayed him in your other covers. The triumphant callbacks to CROWNED in particular were expertly done, amazing work!
Beautiful cover man. You can really hear the tone in Magolor's voice that he truly regrets his actions in betraying his friends that shown him kindness only to get a crown that almost ended up killing him. And him facing the very thing that nearly destroyed him and saying 2:32 is probably the coolest thing I've seen in one of these lyric covers. It's still pretty funny tho how AFTER he defeated the very thing he wanted, that he immediately resorts to capitalism in his path for redemption.
Either way we still love our magician egg.

I didn't notice before that the master crown has the stars used to indicate when something can be broken with the ultra abilities, that's a pretty cool detail when you know the end of the fight
my friend had this theory that the Master Crown isn’t a cursed artifact, it’s a Dark Matter that’s shapeshifted into, sealed inside, or possessed a crown (that gem being it’s eye) with the intent of mutating Magolor into a new Zero after the old one was defeated by kirby as the form Magolor’s second phase takes after losing control has that giant creepy eye-mouth and loses all elements of another other than a spherical body, the implicating being that his old eyes would have been lost as that eye grew into the main one with his hands turning into 02′s angelic wings and the crown itself into that halo he has. I don’t know if this is especially likely, it’s quite a stretch, but it’s cool as shit.
also this would make this final fight against the Master Crown much more potent then it already was as that could very well mark the extinction of the Dark Matters.
