My mom would be horrified at the thought of a child witnessing the birth of an animal. She was a city girl and my parents were of very uptight families. Plus, I'm a boomer, to give you an idea of the times. It's good to see Briley having such a very healthy childhood. And after all, till about 1900 most people lived on farms in this country and for countless generations kids were used to seeing this. (They sometimes even saw animals breed. Gasp and clutch the pearls! :D )

That is a sweet picture but you should let the mom and fowl bond for the first few days. Let the fowl approach you without any attempts to reach, pet or grab. Each fowl has a unique personality and it best to let mother nature take over at first.
