Dear Foolish Mortals,
You are hereby invited to a spirited tour via "buggy" of the home and estate of a prosperous yet departed sea captain whose elegant 19th-century mansion in the New Orleans Square was once the setting for some of the most prominent social gatherings this side of the Mississippi.
The Host
Alas, the sea captain and his family long ago met an...untimely...end. Tended by faithful servants, the home has been inherited by its ethereal inhabitants who are eager to meet you. Several prominent ghosts have retired here from creepy old crypts all over the world. Your Ghost Host is happy to show you their humble abode.
Enter...if you dare!
The House
Make your way through the ghoulish grounds, where gravestones mark the resting places of both pets and pests. Once inside the house, please step into the dead center of the octagonal room. Watch as the portraits stretch to reveal the macabre predicaments of their subjects. Is there a way out? When the secret panel opens, flee the octagonal room to the sinister portrait corridor. Watch out because the eyes have it! Then descend into your Doom Buggy, your only hope of escape.
The Haunts
Your Doom Buggy whisks you into the darkest reaches of this mysterious madhouse packed with poltergeists and haunts of every hue! At the séance in progress, the medium Madame Leota invokes the 999 ghosts, ghouls and goblins that are just dying to meet you! They're looking to fill the 1000th spot in the mansion.

My 3 yr old was begging to go in, so I took her and as soon as the lights went down and the room started streching i hear, "I no like it!" Too late! I spent the next 10 minutes next to a terrified child. She is 5 now and loves it.

+Moriah B I wish somebody had told me that, I went on this ride when I was eight and having sensitive hearing and being an overly sensitive person, when it got to the puppets part, I started screaming bloody murder. I've been afraid of haunted houses ever since this ride. This was years and years ago, so I'm sure I would be fine on it, now.
+432mag this is one of my favorite rides at Disneyland I always go on it 4 or 5 times along with space mountain, splash mountain, star tours, and the Matterhorn.

I have been on that ride it was so cool my favorite part is when all the ghost were dancing and having a party in that ballroom

When I went I was 11 and it was kida like the nightmare before Christmas... and when the elevator got all dark, my older brother yelled out: "ALL RIGHT, WHO TOUCHED MY BUT?!?!" and when we got off, ppl just stared at him XD

I went on this ride when I was like little, and I honestly still remember that part. When I think of that ride, I think of that room. Scary.

PixelHeartKisses recently I went on the ride and looked up during this part and I know why I was so afraid. The narrator says something like "there's no way out, but there is always my way" and lightning flashes, you look up and there is a dead body hanging from the ceiling. Implying that suicide happened. It fucked me up when I was a kid so I was traumatized from it for a while. I'm good now though.
I use to hide my head and close my eyes during the popping head scene in the attic they would unexpectedly pop out it's startling and they looked terrifying.They are now gone they removed them because they were too terrifying.
Thank you. In 1968 my grandma went to Disney and came back with a wall full of the Disney California map i still have today. At that time around then was Sunday night Walt Disney world of Disney. Ive planned for the last 50 years and because of growing up and married and 5 kids it never happened. For the millions that have got to go there. Im sure it's been awesome and just makes you be apart of the dream. Wish i was a part of Disney magic. I got a Pinocchio lunch box in first grade and what you all would consider now a bully. He knocked my thermos off the table and the inner glass lining shattered. I cried all day. I love Pinocchio. Love all you followers of Disney.
I love this ride, it's my favorite. I went in crying, came out asking if we could go on it again.
Im going in like two weeks for my birthday. I honestly always thought that everybody had a disneyland near them. I live 10 minutes away and never thought of it as special, guess I'm luckier than I thought.
Jamie Ojendi Lol i traveled for two days on bus to reach it when i as a kid. So yes you are Lucky. It was a good experience though, even the time on the road.

They need a adult version of this ride where the ghosts are demonic and chase the crap out of you while the ride breaks down. You'd have to finish the ride by foot being chased. That would be my dream ride.

I know right! I was watching other videos like this one, but one of them had TONS of people talking, so i couldn't really hear what the ghost host was saying.
I used to live two hours away and this was always my fav ride when I was little.

This is my all time favorite ride in Disneyland
I've never been so happy and sad at the same time. I absolutely loved this ride when I was little. 5 years old and my favorite place in the whole world was this ride. I was so so upset when they changed it to nightmare before Christmas. Thank you thank you so so much. You are wonderful.
Haunted Mansion Holiday is seasonal, it wasn't a permanent change if that's what you were referring to.
Well ladies and gentlemen, after a longing of 46 years, the Hatbox Ghost has finally returned home! So happy that they decided to bring him back! It's about damn time too :)

When I was riding the ride, the ride stopped in the middle and one girl screamed and almost broke me down to tears.
Great ride! I know this is the original but personally I prefer Phantom Manor because of the bride and the story.

The cars seem to be travelling slightly faster than usual. Must have been a busy day in the park as rides like this are often speeded up on busy days to get the lines through.
This was my very favorite Disney Land Disney World Full Ride !! It was so much Fun Enjoyed it so very Much !!!

everyone says that this is a humorously scary ride, but to me its scary as hell!
I think that line along with "all our ghosts have been dying to meet you; this one (the one in the casket trying to get out) can hardly contain himself" and "unfortunately they all seem to have trouble getting through" were removed because they felt the effects could speak for themselves, following the lead of Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris.
When I was little, I rode this exact same ride in Disney World. I was scared out if my mind because I was only 7. Lol I go on it now and I just laugh the whole time basically. (I'm almost 14 now)
I went on this ride around 20 years ago and it looks like it hasn't changed a bit,
They doesn't change it because every year they close mostly half a month in august for Haunted mansion Holiday Overlay.
The guy whispering that he can see a blinking light will be happy to know that while he's filming the Haunted Mansion, Disney has cameras filming HIM! lol lol

Big Banana when a loved one dies, they can either be buried or cromated (burnt to ash) some choose to place the ashes in certain places whilst others choose to keep them. Some people choose to place/spread the ashes on this ride.

When someone dies you scatter their remains.
Ick why would someone want to spread ashes in a haunted mansion ride??
This is probably one of the best rides here every Ike I go I try to ride it. Disney world's looks more boring even though they have more details but this one has the grim grinning ghosts song I'm used to.
I went on that when I was like 6. The first time I tried to get on but I got scared at the gate, and the person there said if I changed my mind they would let me in. The second time I did it, and the most scary part was probably when the room went pitch black, or I couldn't see a door once I got in, the ride was fun
one of my friends in junior high went on that ride and said the ride was terryfying but when they got off they realized her brother was still sitting on a couch in the waiting area cause he had been so invested in the book he was reading and he said the narration got boring after a while take in mind he was like 9 at the time

I have been to both haunted manson rides Disney land and Disney world but Disney land had better ways of enjoying the ride ! I love theres a few of the videos from the ride but I love it !

yeah its a motion detector. humans cant see it with the naked eye but cameras can. if you have a phone cam, and a tv remote, turn on your camera and face the remote to the camera. press a button and you will see it flash.

The best nod to Disneyland, in the queue for Haunted Mansion, is the memorial to the dead Disney cat and the 5 ducklings that cat had eaten in it's more corruptible mortal state
I went to the Mansion, and actually met Sally and Jack Skellington right by the Mansion's long pathway to the entrance. They were on the lower part right next to the tombstone. I couldn't find them because my mom told me, "Look! I found Sally and Jack Skellington!", and I was like, "Wait. What? Where?" I thought for a second that my mother was playing around, but when I turned around, Sally said, "Boo!" and I went, "Whaaa!" 😆 I'll never forget that day. 😏 Anybody met Sally and Jack Skellington before?

I was there yesterday and today, I was on this twice and you know what? It's not scary at all!!! I can't understand why would ANYONE think it's scary. I think it's more like a cool hologram tour. It has those greenish auras but instead of being scary their just super cool to look at, especially the mirror part, I just wish you could thought them, lol.

When i was little i never made it passed the ballroom in the beginning with all the paintings. I started freaking out and crying and took an emergency exit.
