He's a major reason they are in the shape they're in! But that's still editorial's fault 100%. He hasn't been a big name in a long time but DC was acting like anyone actually cared
Shit rolls downhill. DC took a big dump on everyone by not reining in Bendis' ego. How many writers in their stable are just doing what they want too, and to hell with the fans, if it wasn't for the massive indifference and maybe fear of the editors and execs on high?
For me, the first sign was in his MOS mini when he had the Barry Allen Flash speaking baby talk. That's when I knew Bendis wasn't researching *anything* that had been done with the characters before and was making up whatever he wanted with zero editorial oversight. And it was all downhill from there.
I loved Super Sons and I think that opinion is universally shared with DC readers. I have no friggen idea why the hell DC allowed Bendis ruined what could have been a great character to introduce kids into comics.
A standout for me was "Last Days" in #40,+41. Dad faces a moral challenge reconciling 1. his desire to save a doomed planet with 2. his desire to respect their wishes to die... all while his son observes.
You are correct about DC being insane for leaving Bendis active for so long and the destruction of the company. Most other companies would quickly pull products when they notice sales are tanking.
Bendis is poison. He never researched anything, he just looked at pictures of the characters, and made up stuff based on what he thought they were about.
Bendis always had flaws (ignoring what came before, characterizations of some characters, and going overboard with dialogue, decompression) but I used to really enjoy his work. Ultimate Spider man (and other work in the Ultimate universe), Daredevil, Alias, New Avengers (up to Siege), Secret War were all comics I really liked and shaped my taste. Sometime after 2011 he really fell off and his worst traits got much worse culminating in his work at DC. it's such a shame and he can't seem to accept his work isn't loved like it once was, he lost touch with his fans and what they enjoyed. It's really a shame how he's tarnished his legacy, but he did it to himself. Great video Wes!
The original plan was Hickman would come over, but Johns would not let him touch JSA. Then DC got Bendis, Marvel invited Hickman back to work on X-men. It’s a shame especially considering Hickman was a massive DC fan that teen titans and legions of superheroes were his favorites when he was kid.
That is a shame. I'm a big fan of Geoff's, but he was barely even around at the time and should've kept his mouth shut. It'd been a different story if he was around full time and had immediate plans for the JSA. But he wasn't.
I still think the basic premise for Hickman's X-Men run was likely his repurposed Legion submission that was rejected, just tweaked to fit the X-Men better.
A character being written by Bendis or Tom King is like a man being married to a Kardashian. They might survive it, but there's no way they don't end up permanently damaged.
When they were in negotiations DiDio offered him Justice League, and Bendis said no. He demanded, not only Superman, but Action as well. So Dumb Dan agreed and told Tomasi and Jurgens to take a hike. At the time Tomasi and Jurgens were enjoying one of the best 1-2 punch runs in Superman and Action history. And that's not even considering Super Sons, which by itself, was reaching iconic status. Another demand by that bald weasel was to kill it because it didn't fit into his narrative for Jon. As much as Bendis is to blame (and he is), DiDio is the real villain and idiot here. Every time DC was white hot, during his time there, he just had to go and piss on it because the success wasn't being done his way, by "his vision." Which by the way ALWAYS sucked. The man's a talentless fraud and BMB isn't too far behind him. F 'em both.
That period was the best Superman era for 10 years. Tomasi and Jugens really gave the character a shot in the arm he needed. IMO Didio is to blame for all the problems DC is having. I am certain his "youth movement" attitude is what led to DC bringing in all the no talent, political activist, hack "creators" who brought DC to it's current sorry state. Jim Lee certainly is useless now, but it was Didio that started everything.
@@fattiger6957 Exactly and what's really baffling is DCs sales were great at the time. He's such an incompetent buffoon. But the good news is he and Bendis are history now. Bad news, they're not being replaced with quality.
Dan Jurgens saved DC from the New 52 Superman, something Geoff Johns couldn't even do. Getting rid of the worst Superman version ever and going back to pre-New 52 Superman (including his uniform) was a genius move. People LIKED Lois and Clark married and giving them a son made that relationship even better. Then Bendis.....
I'm not mad at Bendis, my bank account quite likes him for saving me all this money not buying his books after suffering through his talking head phase with his Xmen run.
Jesus, yes. Age of Ultron was an overhyped mess, Civil War 2 was garbage, AvX basically ruined a decent idea (not all on Bendis, I know, but he did it no favors), and the disrespect he showed over the years to characters like Cyclops, Namor, and even Wolverine just made my stomach churn. I never even bothered with his DC stuff.
Yup, i now barely collect anything thanks to him and i haven't gone back really since bc i don't want ton know all the harm he did between his new run and the current stuff
What this man did to Johnathan Kent is unforgivable. I'm still salty af over the demise of the super sons. The potential of that series with its character growth for Johnathan, Damien, conner, all the Robin's, and the Kent family as a whole.
I'm not a writer, but how can one person write so much and expect to put out good work? That's a ridiculous output for one writer and it really makes a lot of sense that his work is trash. He's gotta be out of ideas at this point and "first drafting" everything that he submits. There's no time for self-editing if you're shitting out this much crap every month.
It's the same thing he did at Marvel. That is why so many Marvel readers were happy to see him leave. I hope C.B. Cebulski doesn't bring him back to Marvel.
I remember a moment, a few years ago, were I was REALLY into DC and it was right after Rebirth: Superman/Man of Steel, Super Sons, Tom King's Batman seemed to be going somewhere interesting, I was really exited, then they announced Bendis and the 100th year anniversary volume for Superman: "A 100 year anniversary edition, cool!", I was goin to buy it physical but decided to check it out digitally first, it was...weird the stories were fine, but the last one was Bendis introducing his white Doomsday with an axe thing that I can't remember his name, then Tom King's fiasco wedding happened and Jon Kent was character assassinated and I was out. In around 6 months time I went from paying costumer to completely losing interest in the medium, I think my only contact with comics since then has been watching UA-cam videos as those are far more entertaining these days, I hope they found a new fan-base because I've heard the same stories from my friends, whoever mainstream comic books are targeted at these days it certainly isn't me anymore.

You are right Wes, Bendis dragged that Event Leviathan out and then it had no pay off! I honestly don't know if/how it ended and I read it. That was the end of the Rebirth era in my mind...and the beginning of hell for DC fans.
Even Leviathan is where I jumped off. I own one or two issues but never read them. Between him and Tom King I just couldn't take it anymore. Vendetti's Hawkman was the last great DC book from that time. Silly Grant Morrisons silly GL run was another meh title from those days. Everything was starting to fall apart, which of course, it did.
I started getting into old-school LoSH when he happened to be on the title, quickly figured out I had no interest in reading his stuff, and just kept buying old back issues. No regrets
Maybe early post-crisis, chubby Lex, but not modern Lex. Modern Lex is supposed to be the epitome of human accomplishment who keeps his mind and body in perfect condition.
The argument that comic fans don't like change is crap. During DC Comics Rebirth, Superman's history was merged with the best elements of the pre-crisis, post crisis, and new 52 version of the character. He also had a ten year old son. Fans liked these changes to the character.
Bendis Daredevil is my #2 favorite run after Frank Miller and Ultimate Spiderman is probably top 5 Spiderman somewhere after Conway and Micheline. But Bendis started to decline rapidly around 2009. It's incredible that DC thought bringing Bendis in 10 years into the collapse of his writing and paying him huge sums of money was a good idea. Bendis is coming - Galactus is coming to eat up the DC comics line.
I really hate Bendy. Him, Millar and everyone else responsible for the Ultimates and other deconstruction trope comics of the 2000s. It was supposed to feel edgy and realistic but looking back on it now it feels cringy and stupid. The only good thing we got out of it was a fragile skeleton that would make up the first 4 phases of the MCU. When Bendy moved to DC I knew this would happen. He is no writer but a hack who can only tear things down and twist them into something ugly and stupid. Honestly I want Bendy to write an Original comic book on his own and see how many people would actually like his work on his own without any popular brand or character behind it. I'm wondering how long it would actually last.
Yep I watched Razorfist's vid on Eric July and he told a bit about seeing Bendis at a con and people would give him their art and Bendis would shred it to pieces. Razorfist then showed Bendis' indie work and the art ( while not the worst) was subpar. But yeah from what I see Bendis is a hack
Bendis’ Dissembled was a trolling laugh fest. In one issue, the Vision drove the Quinjet through Avengers mansion, Scott Lang died, and Hawkeye really believed committing Suicide with a jet pack would have saved the Avengers from an invasion sized Star ship. When Bendis wasn’t busy writing provocative scenes for shock factor, he made almost every character, a douche bag for no reason. Having said that, he leaves super rich because he owes the rights to Miles Morales, Riri Williams, and Naomi.
One of the things that always frustrates me is when people ask if Bendis has changed. I recommend going back and trying to read through Secret Invasion, Siege or the latter half of his Avengers run. The same problems are there: snail like pacing, endless snarky dialogue, hastily thought out endings, all the characters speaking the same way. I remember when Secret Invasion came out and actual reviewers commented that the plot hadn’t moved in 3 issues. I think that what is happening is that time is catching up to Bendis. Yes, the early issues of Ultimate Spider-Man are great, Daredevil is solid if way too talky. But, I think people will eventually equate Brian Bendis as one of artistic dead ends of the industry.😊
You absolutely nailed all the things I disliked about his work. Yes, there's some creative ideas in his head, but the way he translates them to paper is so unorganized and weak. And his interpretations of classic Marvel characters was, well, let's just say he didn't understand them very well.
Too late. The damage is done. I pity the company that will hire him. Years waiting for a Legion book... for that boring overwritten bland crap? Not even the fantastic art of Ryan Sook could salvage that snooze fest. Same with his Superman. Ivan Reis tried his best. And i dont want to talk about his JLA. Good riddance. Who's next? Lets clean the house.
Gotta get rid of Tom Taylor. I don't know why DC is treating him like a superstar writer when he's never been anything more than mediocre. They should have fired him during his garbage run on the terrible Earth 2 book.
I felt that the whole ( bendis is coming) promos were weird, they never did them with Frank miller, they never did them with Marv wolfman, they never did them with any writers in the history of DC , so why would they do it with the guy who ruined marvel ( unless he was on their payroll to ruin the competition, I don’t see any reason)
The only other time they did was with Kirby back in the day. It's pretty ridiculous that they gave Bendis the same fanfare as one of the greatest creators in comic history.
Maybe DC did the whole ( bendis is coming) as a cry for help? It pretty much showed they were in a self destructive pattern, and were seeking intervention. 😂
Tomasi made me actually love Superman like I never had before. Loved his run, loved Jon, loved supersons then Bendis came and ruined everything. Ruined the run, ruined Jon. When I saw him aged up it literally broke my heart and I never read another issue
I have observed that there are two ways to write a group book. The first is to have the villain show up and the group gathers to defeat said villain and along the way there is some fun or dramatic comments made between the heroes. This works best for single or two-part stories but not for a year-long or multi-year run of one story. The second is to take a selection of members, 2-5, and run a simple sub-plot on each of those characters that might tie into the main story but can also be used as stand-alone stories involving a group member. Then when done with that main story, switch those sub-plots to the next 2-5 characters and repeat the formula. This can be done for small or long stories. Mr. Bendis violated both of these writing styles. As a fan of the LSH for 40 years, I declare him its worst writer. I further declare that his LSH is not canon and can safely be ignored.
Legion fans have it rough. From what I understand, the Five Years Later arc started off great, but apparently petered out along the way, and then the books became outright unreadable. Have there been any good runs since then (aside from Abnett & Lanning which I've heard was pretty good)?
@@r0w5tortion84 Off the top of my head the last set I enjoyed was the 6-part Action Comics story reuniting the LSH & Superman. It was Geoff Johns or Mark Waid. This led into a new series that had Mon-El become a Green Lantern. The last great LSH story was the Legion 3 Crisis story featuring the LSH of three universes against a ton of villains and the rebirth of Impulse and Connor Kent. My biggest annoyance is that several writers keep changing the mythos of Superman's involvement in the LSH. At the end of Doomsday Clock, they had been brought them back and Superman knew them. Then Bendis Superman run had begun and negated that entire plot and Superman didn't know them, but he allowed them to take his son into the future. I did not care for the Mark Waid Earth-Prime version of the LSH.
I told a friend of mine who is the biggest DC fan while I was a Marvel fan mainly- I told him I was glad to see Bendis go to DC so he could screw up Batman and Superman like he screwed up Marvel...I was joking of course but Bendis proved my words to be prophetic...
I am glad brian michael bendis is leaving dc comics because he's ruined everything for a lot of characters like Superman the justice league and legion of superheroes because he's ruined everything and aging up my boy Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy was such a horrible idea that it drives me crazy that nobody wants to undo this horrible idea and give us back my boy Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy back to his little 10 year old self.
"We're the only non-Batman top ten book." Like you, Wes, I seriously doubt that Justice League vs Legion was ever a top ten book. Even if you only count DC books. CBR estimates that there were 13 DC books ahead of the first issue during its release month, including Dark Knights of Steel and DC vs Vampires. And that was its high water mark.
Bendis and King destroyed DC. It’s so blatantly obvious that they were allowed to do whatever they wanted and were not edited at all. Especially when you factor in how good Rebirth was and started off. I’m not sure what they were thinking when they decided to go with Bendis and King’s vision of DC instead of Geoff Johns’ when they sabotaged Doomsday Clock. People were loving the overall Rebirth story and it started off so damn good. They haven’t been able to recover. They need someone to take over who has balls and isn’t afraid to make things clear to the writers and tell them no when they want to do things like age up Jon or turn Wally into a murderer. The things happening now is obviously some stupid initiative to be diverse and inclusive. But it started with Bendis.
Bloody Stupid Bendis was doing miserable on his books when he left Marvel. He obliterated every book he worked on at DC. Everything he did to Superman was a crime.
The best anyone can hope for is a complete retcon and immediate TRASHING of ALL Bendis stories and character changes had a hand in out of existence. Jon Kent de-Aged to where Tomasi had him.
The real sad thing about Naomi was that it actually got a show! That's a major push for a character. I'm thinking because marvel was pushing ms marvel, dc thought they had something? Regardless, as soon as it was announced he was coming to DC, I knew my new favorite character, Jon Kent, was doomed. Super sons was easily the best series and I think a young Jon was likeable. His interaction with Damian was perfect. I don't get how they were trying to push Grayson. Anyway before I start ranting on how they destroyed him, I'll trace everything to bendis and move along.
To be fair, Bendis did write a pretty decent Batman story for those Walmart giants. It's was silly, but fun. I don't know if it would qualify as memorable, but it is notable for not being terrible.
Ya know, I was relieved when Bendis left Marvel but I felt sorry for DC. 'Bendis is coming' was a threat. Now I'm worried that he'll return to Marvel... But I would've felt more worried if Marvel wasn't a complete dumpsterfire allready XD. Now I have not read Naomi but if she's more powerful than Superman and has no weakness at all then thats a cardinal sin. The more powerful you make a character the more weakness' they gotta have. Supes got cryptonite and magic to eff up his day. Venom have sound and fire (or used to have at least) not mess him up. There's gotta be something there to make good stories. A comicbook writer needs take sabbatical leaves every so often. There's not many writers that can sit 30 years in a row and come up with bangers. Well, Stephen King can but he has the privilige of being able to write any damn thing his wants ya know. Superhero comics aren't that flexible. I dunno where I'm going with this thought other than that Bendis should have taken a break many years ago. BTW, I've never seen an artist give a clearer middle finger to a writer than JRJR did to Bendis with the last comics he drew at DC.
Unbelievable how he will never admit to the reality of bad sales, so there’s no point in trying to get him to see that. I’m just glad he’s gone now, hopefully in time the corrections necessary to restore the brand can happen.
I would recommend Superman (2nd Series) 1987-2011, with the accompanying Adventures of Superman, Action and Man of Steel titles. If those aren't your thing, then go with the Superman Rebirth run from 2016-2018. You can find those in both the Superman and Action Comics titles from that period.
All of the ill intent and distain towards fans and classic hero characteristics began with Bendus and the editorial especially Diddio for bringing him in without research of his current status. Superman is damaged, Jon is damaged, the Legion of Superheroes are damaged, Justice League is damaged and due to the other bad writers going head and ass first into only ideological politics and changing established characters for CNN reports an social media headlines. Now their in a colossal reboot, shuffling around bad writers thinking the old fans will return for them to abuse the fandom as a whole because they label fans bigots rather the reflect on how they screwed up there own stories for a soapbox. They can reflect on these actions, but they choose not to.
It’s because of Brian Michael Bendis that Superman, the Justice League, and the Legion of Superheroes became unreadable and completely failed. It was a mistake to bring him to DC in the first place. It’s because of Brian Michael Bendis that DC is dead. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
BMB doesn't even seem to read other people's comics or pay attention to what others have written. He thinks Rogol Zarr is his.original idea, even though it was done before by J. Michael Strazynski in Superman Earth-1. He thinks reveal Clark's secret identity was his original idea, even though that exact same story was already done 5 years earlier.
Sadly it's way too late for this to have any positive impact. He should have never been hired in the first place. And certainly never been given free reign to do whatever he pleased.
I subbed right around the time Bendis took over Superman. Late 2017 - I think. You were clean shaven back in the day. Oh, and Bendis originally shipped Jon with Imra. I think DC completely ignored that. That's how much DC valued him. Let's not forget Kathy from the Rebirth era. Jon liked her. So, he liked two girls and is now dating a dude. DC is a joke no one laughs at anymore.
Bendis was a mistake from the beginning. Marvel didn't care about him till they heard DC was making a move. Even then a weak effort to keep him. He's ruined the Legion to the point a movie being considered couldn't move forward because the G. Johns failure to finish Doomsday Clock on time and bring back the original team (as well as the JSA) RUINED everything. Bendis Legion a complete disaster. It may be too late for DC as leadership continues to loose money.
They could fix the damage done to Jon Kent and Tim Drake over the last few years by stating Jor El replaced Tim with a clone to spy on the Batfamily; that aged up Jon is actual Ultraman’s son and kid Jon is still prisoner. Tim has been done dirty since new 52. Jason need his guns back too.
Hey! :) I had to look at your "Bendis Killed Superman Family" video...and I got depressed. I missed out on the run of Superman's Family (among other things) because I dipped out of comics regularly for almost twenty years. If you've done the same, then you know why: I got tired of the self indulgent bullshit I saw even then. And brother, even in his glory days, Bendis could get self indulgent. It's clear in retrospect he's always had a massive ego and he chose comics to be his 'platform'. He did do great work once, like Secret War, and I mean the one where Nick Fury recruited a bunch of heroes to kill a head of state. I also liked his initial issues of Alias, even though the idea of his retcon-introduction-reintroduction (it was basically all three) to Jessica Jones was a sign of things to come. What I remember best about Jessica was there was way too damn much talking. Again, a warning sign. I'm proud to say I totally missed the boat when it comes to Ironheart, but I've heard enough about his diversity purse puppy creation Riri Williams to never EVER read any of her adventures. I mentioned in one of my comments under your "Bendis Killed Superman Family" that I'm sure he's grown to hate heroes and the idea of the American family just like any good postmodern does. How else do you explain Ironheart, who by even objective standards comes off as a super *villain?* For godsakes, she overthrew a country and didn't even realize what she did! (Or she did her level best to be in denial of it!) The most self indulgent things a writer can do is forsake both lore and being true to a character as their readers know them. We've seen it before with arbitrary change-ups involving Spider-Man and Mary Jane (and dammit, as far as I'm concerned, they're still married!), Captain America, Captain Marvel, Wonder Woman, Batman AND Robin...for godsakes, look at the X-Men and their villains since Hickman came along. I know they're only the alien xeroxes of the real heroes and villains, but that gave the morons at Marvel license to write them any way they want, and to hell with history! (Just to remind everyone: Clone Logan, Clone Jean and Clone Scott going poly!) Let's not forget that the Clone X-Men's idea of peace isn't coexistence with normal humans, *it's segregating themselves on a protocommunist island!* If I hadn't stopped reading comics regularly long ago, I'd have grown to hate them now. We've seen this same kind of ego from the Disney Wars films, Doctor Who, Kurtzman Trek, Batwoman, and on and on and on. Those with a very clear political view of the world have been doing their damndest to 'reset' them. The problem with American comics began because of the egocentric, partisan and childish 'creators' like Bendis. The problem will end the moment they're all kicked out of the industry on their asses. I'm still hopeful that will happen if the powers that be don't want to lose that industry and artform. If we want to retcon this hellish mess Bendis made of Superman and his amazing family, then a full Crisis type reset is in order...hey, we had Rebirth, maybe creators who care really can accomplish that!
Back then the SuperSons was one of the most popular things they had....they had the movie in Process, it only came out cause those things take time....why the hell would they let him age John up?

@@fattiger6957 I honestly think the reason Bendis aged him up was so they could do literally do this. If you look at Bendis recent work with Marvel hes obsessed with kids and their "relationships".
He's a major reason they are in the shape they're in! But that's still editorial's fault 100%. He hasn't been a big name in a long time but DC was acting like anyone actually cared
DC was acting like Bendis was the second coming of Jack Kirby when they were advertising Bendis' arrival.
@@fattiger6957 I wonder how much they blew on that marketing campaign?
Shit rolls downhill. DC took a big dump on everyone by not reining in Bendis' ego. How many writers in their stable are just doing what they want too, and to hell with the fans, if it wasn't for the massive indifference and maybe fear of the editors and execs on high?
I lost faith in Bendis when he had Superman go public with his identity.
That was the first sign of trouble
I hated that so much
For me, the first sign was in his MOS mini when he had the Barry Allen Flash speaking baby talk. That's when I knew Bendis wasn't researching *anything* that had been done with the characters before and was making up whatever he wanted with zero editorial oversight. And it was all downhill from there.
I loved the tweenaged Jon. Those stories with Superman as dad were really special. Such a loss.
I loved Super Sons and I think that opinion is universally shared with DC readers. I have no friggen idea why the hell DC allowed Bendis ruined what could have been a great character to introduce kids into comics.
The issue where Clark takes him to show American heroes was beautiful.
A standout for me was "Last Days" in #40,+41. Dad faces a moral challenge reconciling 1. his desire to save a doomed planet with 2. his desire to respect their wishes to die... all while his son observes.
Yeah, super sons was brilliant, then Bendis shat on him, shat on Jor El and shat all over the title in general.
@@sudarshaniyer6201 indeed super sons was freaking awesome
You are correct about DC being insane for leaving Bendis active for so long and the destruction of the company. Most other companies would quickly pull products when they notice sales are tanking.
Nah the DiDio strategy was to do the exact opposite.
New Avengers is trash.Wolverine in the team never makes any sense.I hate Bendis in MArvel.
"Bendis is coming" was a bad omen indeed.
Damn. Would of loved to see Hickman on Teen Titans. I miss the Teen Titans and JSA
@@nunobarbosa3981 Hickman would have been a good fit for JSA. If only Geoff wasn't so selfish.
@@zemox2534 Hickman ignores characterization/personality. It makes sense Geoff Johns wouldn't want characters he loved Hickmanized.
😂 😂 LOL! That's a dame good analogy.

Ivan Reis being the artist was the reason I bought Bendis on Man of Steel and it was because of Bendis that I didn't buy anymore after that.
I'm not mad at Bendis, my bank account quite likes him for saving me all this money not buying his books after suffering through his talking head phase with his Xmen run.
@Cognitive Dissonance I quit 9 months ago
In a terrible shape is an understatement

What this man did to Johnathan Kent is unforgivable. I'm still salty af over the demise of the super sons. The potential of that series with its character growth for Johnathan, Damien, conner, all the Robin's, and the Kent family as a whole.
Bendis the destroyer was the biggest villain in the DC universe
DiDio. None of this happens without DiDio.
I like your metaphor. When a writer shits out this much crap, there’s no time to polish the turds 😂

Does DC now Stand for "Dead Comics"?
Yes they are
You are right Wes, Bendis dragged that Event Leviathan out and then it had no pay off!
Bendis is the reason I will never have a complete collection of the LSH.
I started getting into old-school LoSH when he happened to be on the title, quickly figured out I had no interest in reading his stuff, and just kept buying old back issues. No regrets
Bendis looks like Lex Luthor.
That he does, can’t believe I never noticed that before
Chubby Lex Luthor at that.
Maybe early post-crisis, chubby Lex, but not modern Lex. Modern Lex is supposed to be the epitome of human accomplishment who keeps his mind and body in perfect condition.
Is he sure there's no other characters he wants to ruin on the way out?
The argument that comic fans don't like change is crap. During DC Comics Rebirth, Superman's history was merged with the best elements of the pre-crisis, post crisis, and new 52 version of the character. He also had a ten year old son. Fans liked these changes to the character.
Is is bird, is it a plane, no, Bendis is finally G-G-GOING!
Totally agree with your take on Bendis. Between him and the 82 monthly Batman titles, DC is going to need to take a minute to dig out of the mess.
*BENDIS IS LEAVING!*
GOOD RIDDANCE
AMEN.
PLEASE let the door hit ya on your ass on the way out.
Yeah, he's been doing this for decades.
Bendis is the Ken Penders of Archie with Sonic comics
Great job Wes as usual.
Bye bye Bendis. Don’t come back.
Amen to that
They should start an ad campaign with just bold letters stating "Bendis is leaving!".
There were so many great ideas, I wish Bendis wasn't the only one writing these big Avengers stories.

You don’t see a problem when the rock falls down a hill. When it rolls into a landslide you see it.

Man, Jon Kent. That sh*t still hurts.
To be fair, Bendis did write a pretty decent Batman story for those Walmart giants. It's was silly, but fun. I don't know if it would qualify as memorable, but it is notable for not being terrible.
Haven't read it, but I would possibly say solid evocation of Batman Odyssey
The good news for you is he demands a lot of money and I'm not sure Disney would be willing to accommodate. Comics are not a high priority for them.
@digifalc0087 Jupp. I know JRJR's art have degraded the last few years but man... I dont think he spent more than 10 minutes on those pages.

I especially despise his young justice and justice league run
They could fix the damage done to Jon Kent and Tim Drake over the last few years by stating Jor El replaced Tim with a clone to spy on the Batfamily; that aged up Jon is actual Ultraman’s son and kid Jon is still prisoner.

(Or she did her level best to be in denial of it!)
The most self indulgent things a writer can do is forsake both lore and being true to a character as their readers know them.
GOOD. Maybe Zaslav can start retconning all of his bullshit.
Back then the SuperSons was one of the most popular things they had....they had the movie in Process, it only came out cause those things take time....why the hell would they let him age John up?
Thanks Bendis!
Now, GTFO and never come back! BENDIS IS LEAVING!!!
May we never see him again
