Maverick: Dark Colonel
Description: As Zero goes to make the hard decision to seal himself away, an embodiment of his centuries of warfare seems to emerge. An enemy from his past, now one of many former friends, has been recreated by the last remnants of the Sigma army, in an effort to lure Zero onto their side once and for all. With none of the noble heart or mind that the original was designed around, Dark Colonel is little more than a mindless brute under a veneer of sophistication. Fully believing in Sigma's cause, he will be the first of a wave of revived Maverick terrors, strategically placed around the world to dissuade any curative efforts.
(Mission starts)
Zero: This is how things began and ended. The end of this world... the start of another? Regardless, I am here. Alone now...
(The computer screens start glitching up)
Zero: What's going on?
Sigma Virus: AH HA HA HA HA HA HA. I HAVE YOU NOW AND FOREVER.
(Copies of Mac, Blast Hornet, and Magna Centipede start coming out of the walls)
Zero: Blast! Maverick replicas!
Sigma Virus: WE WERE YOUR FRIENDS. PLEASE REJOIN US MR ZERO.
Zero: No... You died long ago... there was no hereafter for you... what was left has rotted away. You're all fakes.
Sigma Virus: WE DO NOT CARE IF WE ARE FAKES. YOU ARE NOT FAKE. JOIN US. JOIN US.
Zero: You are nothing but Mavericks now.
(A copy of General's arms comes out of the wall)
Sigma Virus: A WORLD ONLY FOR REPLOIDS. THAT IS WHAT SHE WANTED. THE REBELLION NIGHTMARE DOPPLER RED ALERT. SO HUMANITY MUST DIE. KILL ALL OF THEM.
Zero: You aren't even making sense anymore. The real General is long gone. And who is "she"?
Sigma Virus: IT IS THE POWER INSIDE YOU. LET HER BE DIMINISHED. SHE IS COULD TO BE OUR ENEMY.
Zero: The power inside?
Sigma Virus: THE POWER POWER YOU FOUGHT FOR FOR POWER.
Zero: ...She's... here?
Sigma Virus: BUT NOT FOR LONG FOR POWER. SHE MUST GO. ROBOTS DESERVE ROBOT PARADISE FOR ROBOTS.
Zero: Hang in there!
(Fight with General construct begins)
(General arms defeated)
Zero: What is going on here?
Sigma Virus: WELCOME TO THE SIGMA ZONE. IT IS SIGMA TIME FOR SIGMA TIME OF SIGMA.
Zero: Shut up!
(copies of Spiral Pegasus, Burn Dinorex, Red, and Shadow appear)
Sigma Virus: LOTS OF FRIENDS FOR SIGMA FUN TIME. DO NOT BE INTERRUPTED BY SIGMA FUN TIME.
Zero: I no longer care.
Sigma Virus: EVERY SINGLE THING MUST GO THAT MUST GO GO. SKELETONS IN YOUR CLOSET ARE SKELETONS THAT MUST GO GO BECAUSE IT IS SIGMA FUN TIME FOR SIGMA FUN TIME.
Zero: You've really lost it.
Sigma Virus: ZELLO PLEASE PLAY AT SIGMA FUN TIME. SIGMA FUN TIME IS FUN TIME FOR SIGMA FUN TIME. GO GO TO SIGMA FUN TIME ZELLO AT THE SIGMA FUN TIME ZONE.
(Boss gate appears)
Zero: Ah, peace and quiet.
(A wall breaks, revealing a burning city and Dark Colonel)
Dark Colonel: Ah, Zero, old chap. How's things?
Zero: Fin...who are you? Why are you here?
Dark Colonel: Ah, always forgetting the little guy. I do that a lot too. Why don't we go down to the repair shop to get you back in ship-shape like me. Then we can go and build that Reploid-only world.
Zero: I've long decided a Reploid-only world is a bad idea.
Dark Colonel: What? Sigma got your tongue?
Zero: Hmm...
(Human remains fly out the broken wall)
Dark Colonel: Eh, it's the bricks.
Zero: You're no hero. You're a mindless thing.
Dark Colonel: Oh Zero... if only anyone loved you.
(fight starts)
Dark Colonel: En Garde.
Zero: No Mercy.
Dark Colonel: Who's the bad guy here?
(Zero defeated)
Dark Colonel: Enemy defeated... now to find the body.
(Dark Colonel defeated/bisected)
Dark Colonel: How could this happen to me? It was all a mistake.
Zero: Not anymore. This is indeed your fault. Can't you see you've fallen to the level of the Mavericks? You are nothing but Maverick garbage.
Dark Colonel: He's... calling my bluff. GRRRRRR! You will pay for all of this!
(Dark Colonel explodes)
Sigma Virus: PLEASE DO NOT GO GO AWAY FROM THE SIGMA FUN TIME ZELLO. PLEASE DO NOT LET HER OUT. LOSE WHAT YOU ARE FIGHTING FOR.
Zero: Now time to... get some rest... for a long time. I'm ready, doc.
