    I would encourage you to get at least 3 wedges for felling trees. A lot safer for you and a lot easier on your bar.

    Are you going to have to tarp your stash of milled lumber till it's time to actually use it, because of your rain storms! I came to tears and choked up about the offer of the biggest raspberry to a parent!!! And like it was no big deal to do this....Bless you parents and your children! I love your videos no matter the content. You could be boiling cactus or straightening old nails or something else and I would support your channel. Love from Central Oklahoma.

    You enjoyed cutting and sawing while we loved your positive attitude. You mentioned the word character several times in your video mostly speaking about the logs and wood but I would say it is a wonderful metaphor for the way in which you and your family live each of your lives.

    Hi guys in the UK an overhang between 2.0m 3.5 m is allowed but you must have a board attached to the end stating long load and must be lit at night. anything longer you must be accompanied by an agent to assist in getting you from AtoB and the police must be notified two days prior to the journey.

    Great work! I look forward to seeing your drams to come into reality. With tree felling start with little one and build you skill level up. Don't buy steel wedges buy the plastic, if your chain grabs and kicks backward or you turn your cutting angle to much and strike the steel wedge, then yuo can right off the chain.

    Beautiful logs I live in Idaho and I don’t think that’s legal here but by the way. I know that someone already commented on getting wedges, but I think you should have a hardhat because sometimes when you’re falling a tree you got top of the tree that may fall or fall off. They call them widowmakers. We just love watching you guys. Can’t wait till next week.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

    Dead trees on my property were risky as the big straight ones would hold to the vey last. I had to make sure that it was a still day too as the breezes made them rock and pinch the bar. Yep wedges worked to help that. I enjoyed watching your videos, the family work, the resourcefulness and making things work for you with what you got. Nope, can’t tow a load like that in the land of Oz legally.

    I am here in Arizona and having worked at Home Depot in the past loading lumber on vehicles... I believe the requirement for extending beyond your vehicle or trailer is to have a bright Red or orange flag attached to the furthest point from your vehicle... I could be wrong but that is how I have done it everywhere I lived.

    • @dionh70
      @dionh70 2 місяці тому

      Most jurisdictions want anything more than 18 inches past the bumper of the vehicle to have a bright red flag of some sort to notify other drivers of the potential hazard.

    3 steel wedges, a sledge hammer when felling large trees. Before you start cutting decide where you want it to fall and look up at the tree. Check to see if they tree is leaning towards or away from where you want it. Check for extra weight on one side or the other. Check for strong winds if any. Your pie cut and your straight back cut are key and those wedges. You'll be amazed at what those wedges can do. They can actually force the tree in the direction you want if your cuts are good. If you have to drop a large tree around structures you'll need a lot more experience. Just saying 😅. Good luck. We enjoy your videos. You all are doing a great job.

    Every state has a law of no more than 4 feet overhang. That is a DOT law and is Federal. Hey better to ask for forgiveness vise permission right?...hahaha. Plus that wood is 35 lbs per square foot on average and I am quite certain that trailer was WELL overloaded for the weight as well...haha. Still you made it safe and not issues happened. Good to see all them awesome logs getting turned into some AMAZING lumber. Great work y'all!

    In the Netherlands, transporting goods in the manner you have done is not permitted due to danger. You may not exceed the weight of the trailer's loading capacity, longer loads may not extend more than 1 meter behind the trailer, otherwise you must display a warning sign, the load must be secured using lashing straps or other material, a net over the loading is mandatory etc etc. Long story short, no way. I am looking forward to the house build and what else you have planned.
