Happy and Blessed Sabbath everyone ❤ ❤
You seem to jump from a simple question in the title of "Does the Bible endorse slavery", and argue that the Bible doesn't endorse American slavery. Why did you change the argument? The question? Why can't we simply discuss Biblical slavery without bringing American slavery into it. I always hear what you said, that people complain that the Bible endorses American slavery. But oddly I only hear this from Christians, and not unbelievers? This is nothing more than a straw man argument. Who cares if the Bible condones American slavery or not? Does the Bible condone slavery itself is your question. What is your answer? Are the next 8 episodes going to simply lay out differences between Biblical slavery and American slavery? If so, I'm not listening. But I like that you're going to address the Levitical passages. I'm interested to hear your answer here. My guess is that it's going to either be "No", or "Yes but it's not the bad kind of slavery".
But the fact is that the Bible by definition condones lifelong, generational chattel slavery. In in that sense, yes Biblical slavery and American slavery were the same. It's just the rules around it that are different, not the condoning of it.
We go into great detail in the Bible. We just use the African Slave trade as an example/comparison as that is what many modern people imagine when thinking about slaves. We'll also look into what Biblical arguments 'Christians' used to justify their owning of slaves, and what made them eventually switch. So history plays a part in the videos too, but we'll mainly focus on scripture.
So I think you'll enjoy the other videos, especially from part 3 onwards :) Have a blessed week
@@LivingWatersEurope I encourage you to read Dr. Joshua Bowen's most recent book on the topic "Did the Old Testament Endorse Slavery" for an in-depth historical account on the topic.

The two scriptures that you cited here speak volumes for themselves. In my opinion they need no interpretation and the context is very clear.
I'll be interested in watching for your Next video Trying to explain and or justify such immoral acts.
Thanks for watching :) Yes, it'll become very clear over the next 9 parts. Will be grateful to hear your thoughts once it's fully unpacked.
@@LivingWatersEurope it is very clear the bible supports slavery.
@LivingWatersEurope my guy, you lost most people with it being more than one part to make your point.
@@atmos1x as a believer i more than agree with that
@@oveh.8160 that he should have just said it was immoral as it is? Lol
Does the Bible endorse slavery? Did I miss something or was the question not answered?
Yes it does
@@Dave_Langer no, it doesn’t
@@Ratchetzillastudios Yes it does.
@@Dave_Langer no it doesn’t
@@Ratchetzillastudios yes it does, stop lying
bro i really have to pay to know what our own religion is saying. no offense just kind of unreasonble.
Then wait the week?
I was taught that the Bible doesn't promote slavery, it just talks about it as it already was existing.
That would still be God endorsing slavery though. Truth is, the devil was using God's name to do evil. The devil, using God's name, flooded the earth, gave the 613 laws, destroyed Sodom & Gamorah etc. Jesu tells us this, Jesus quoted and corrected scripture, Jesus said with the bible to not eat the leven (lies) with the bread (truth) and Paul literally tells us to discern the bible right from wrong.
It totally promotes it
@@BurntFossil bro what?💀
@@Dave_Langer That's the Old Testament. There's a huge difference between the Old and the New. Does it promote slavery in the New Testament? No, because the New Testament is the current law and truth along with the 10 Commandments.
@@lxvelycall yes the NT promotes slavery too, you don't even know your bible. Also if you are going to ignore the OT for slavery you can't have the 10 commandments since they are also in the OT.
