Gemini's first wife was really great. She may have accepted Savithri as a co-wife out of compulsion and prevailing society norms but the way she raised Savithri's son and got him educated was commendable. It really takes a big heart to do what she did. Also all children she raised were highly educated where as Rekha and Vijaya Chamundeswari were not, which shows the difference.

With Savithri amma's property. Their son was brought up in hostel. Her daughters were educated bcoz of Savithri amma, she encouraged them this was told by Dr Kamala ganeshan in an interview

Perhaps he took her permission in his multiple extra marital affairs and for his third marriage at the age of 70. Perhaps he would not have married Savithri if his wife did not give him permission or perhaps Savithri herself would have stayed away from Gemini. May be marrying a young girl like Vijayachamundeswari at the age of 16 to her maternal uncle was a brilliant way to settle a girl in life, while the mother can keep herself busy boozing. It is pity that Savithri did not settle her son by getting him married at the age of 12 to an older woman (because he was that age when she passed away). It is a pity that he was raised by Gemini's wife, became an engineer and settled in USA. Poor Savithri amma (who allegedly took to bottle and had an affair with her chaffeaur because her "husband" betrayed her) should have taught some life lessons to to Gemini's first wife.
Here everyone appreciating Savithri garu..i agree with that..but we should also appreciate Gemeini Ganeshan first wife..she is a great human being..being a first wife she accepted everything...it's very difficult to be like that..if someone else comes into our world..

My heart weeps for Rekha. Poor thing she had to go through so much emotionally. Being poor is not going to affect you much but growing up without a dad changes the way they look at the world. She might have felt abandoned and unwanted. 💔

How can one just feel ashamed that to introduce his own daughter eventhough the mistake is all his own....as if the daughter did some mistake...oh god...just couldn't accept this fact..I couldn't imagine...how Rekha would have suffered in her life.. without a father to support and cant even tell that so called person is her father... eventhough this movie just potrays the life of Savitri...we should accept the fact...and imagine a daughter was not ready to attend her own father's funeral....how much pain she should have gone through for her to make this decision...
