I think I will congratulate you for every single video lesson on the Greek language that you give, Lina cause their fantastic, so effective! Great job, thank you!
Such a devil of a preposition! Versatile but tricky. However i had no trouble at all understanding what you taught. You're without a doubt one of the best teachers I've ever had the pleasure of following. Thank you so much!
I struggle a lot with the prepositions, and everything else in this wonderfull language, beginer as I am. I use another learning platform as well, but it is your explanations that clears out everything. You just make it so simple and understandable I hope you will bee able to be back to us with more of your so explainable lessons! You are helping me a lot on the road to my goal, to one day move to Greece and live with my Greek friends there! Λινα! Ευχαριστώ πάρα ,πάρα πολύ! Lasse
I enjoy your videos which discuss Greek in English. You are the Greek equivalent to the "Italy Made Easy" channel which takes the same approach in teaching Italian to English speakers. They are very helpful.
I just discovered your lesson videos and want to thank you. These are just so helpful, No fancy silliness - - very concise and to the point. For someone like myself trying to learn Greek these are a wonderful resource. Thank you
I appreciate your clear explanations. I will need to be patient to understand how to use the prepositions. I have given myself a goal…to be able to have a conversation with others.
Hello Jean-Michel! Thank you so much for watching and being part of this! I wish you all the best! I'm sure that you'll have a wonderful life in Greece!
Hello and thank you for comment! I have tried different kinds of lessons to learn other languages and I always ended up having questions that really bugged me! That's what I'm trying to correct with these videos and I am really happy that you understand that. :)
Hello! Thank you so much! Wow, learning Modern Greek and Koine at the same time must be quite a task! I'm sure Modern Greek seems a piece of cake compared to Koine, but it's definitely worth studying a language in depth and explore its evolution through time. :)
Hmm - I've been studying, speaking, reading, and writing Modern Greek for over 35 years, and this is the first time I've ever seen σε used with the Genitive in the same way that the French use "chez." I had also forgotten that σε is never used with the Accusative of months, days of the week, or years. I just learned some new things today. :)
Lina + Duolingo! that's how i roll )) I am also looking for some GR/CZ or GR/SK textbook. Dear Lina, you are giving big portion of motivation out to us and you make the learning experience pleasure and fun.
Hi! This is a very logical question, but with a disappointing answer I'm afraid. There is no rule. Ok, to be 100% correct, there are only a few rules, mostly about endings of verbs and declinable words. I don't suggest that you sit and learn all these rules at once. For example, learn the rules of verb spelling while studying the different conjugations, etc. Everything else you'll learn by experience. :)
Question : it seems to me that the use of σε acts as some kind of replacement for the long gone dative case in ancient Greek , am I right ? Thanks for your videos I'm a beginner with Greek and I love it!
This is a bit tricky. The accusative goes to the word "2" and the following word is in genitive form as it has the meaning "of". It's like saying "Στις 2 του Απριλίου (on the 2nd OF April), but "του"/ "of" is usually omitted in this case. It is an expression. Usually whichever noun follows "of" (either explicit or implicit) is in genitive form
In my opinion it does sounds serious, but warm. I mean, we can feel by your voice you are a nice person. But I think you could include much more humour and it will continue being didactic but more fun!
Linaaaaa, thank you again for these videos but i have to ask something: Are you planning to do a video showing the use of pronoun in the accusative case forms(Strong and Weak) like με, εμενα, σε, εσενα, το, τα. It's a bit confusing to understands the use of them. Again thank you !!
Hi Victor! It's one of my priorities actually! Thanks for reminding me, I receive so many requests and suggestions every day that it's getting a bit hard to keep track!!
Good remark and a nice opportunity for a mini Greek lesson! In Greek "apostrophe" is "απόστροφος". "Αποστροφή" (that sounds more like the correct EN "apostrophe") has a totally different meaning: "aversion" or "disgust"! This is not an excuse for my mistake by no means, I just thought it could be useful!
"ευχαριστώ πολύ, είσαι μου μεγάλο βοήθεια" καταλαβαίνω (Λίνα) ότι είσαι Ελληνίδα και αυτό είναι γραμματικό λάθος, μπορείς να τους βοηθήσεις να λένε σωτά τις φράσεις μας;
Very interesting insights, but just to avoid confusion with Ancient Greek, in the official Modern Greek grammar that is taught in schools, "σε" is a preposition. "Εις" in modern Greek is only used as a prefix in compound words and in some standard expressions.
Learn Greek with Lina ευχαριστώ πολύ Λίνα :)...................is there a rule for this? is to do with the fact word that follows either Feminine or masculine or is it the Letter ?

Hi Lina!. I was wondering if you have video about when spelling words when to use
when do you use η OR ι OR υ OR WHEN DO USE ο OR ω. DO YOI HAVE VIDEO ON THE USAGE OF THESE LETTERS

Question : it seems to me that the use of σε acts as some kind of replacement for the long gone dative case in ancient Greek , am I right ? Thanks for your videos I'm a beginner with Greek and I love it!
Hello! You are absolutely right! "Σε" has replaced "εν" which was used with the dative case in Ancient Greek. Thank you for watching! :)
@@linaaaap1 το «σε» αντικατέστησε το «είς», το «έν» συντάσσεται με δοτική και σημαίνει μέσα (έν τῶ τηγανίω τίς μετέφερες...;)
Wonderfull.
Good job....

Hi. In the example "stis 2 apriliou", you used the genitive case for aprilios, why didn´t you used aprilio instead of apriliou ?
This is a bit tricky. The accusative goes to the word "2" and the following word is in genitive form as it has the meaning "of". It's like saying "Στις 2 του Απριλίου (on the 2nd OF April), but "του"/ "of" is usually omitted in this case. It is an expression. Thank you for explaining! It is true it's a bit tricky but also very important to know.
Thnx

Επιτρέψτε μου να σας ρωτήσω κάτι. Πώς να το γράψετε σωστά? τις - στις? Παράδειγμα - Κοιμάμαι μέχρι τις - στις 9 το πρωί ?

I like that she said apostrophe like it has a silent e. Its actually uh pah struh fee with the e being like Greek

Kala Hi
Γεια σου Λινα ,,,,,,,,,Can i say ,,,,,,,,Ειμαι οτην δουλεια ( i'm at work)
Yes! "Είμαι στη δουλειά" is absolutely correct and very common indeed!
Learn Greek with Lina στη or στην
In this case (before "δ") , the correct one is "στη δουλειά" without the final -ν.
Learn Greek with Lina ευχαριστώ πολύ Λίνα :)...................is there a rule for this? is to do with the fact word that follows either Feminine or masculine or is it the Letter ?
It's just the letter! I explain this in my video about the definite article, it's at around 3 minutes!
