- The Sacramento Kings have officially made their first appearance in the NBA playoffs in 17 years, and what we’ve seen from them so far has been beyond entertaining. But while the Kings vs Warriors playoffs series is still young and there is a lot of basketball yet to be played, we’ve already picked up on something extremely interesting De’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis & company are being forced into doing.
The Kings offense coached by Mike Brown in 2023 has been exceptional. Their offense has ranked as one of the best of all time, and with guys like Fox, Domas, Malik Monk, Kevin Huerter, Harrison Barnes, Davion Mitchell, & even Trey Lyles & Alex Len contributing in the 2023 NBA postseason so far, they’re operating in a way we’re not used to, and that is by not running the offense through Domantas Sabonis as frequently. And with this, it’s forced the Kings to look elsewhere for their success.
But as seen, the success is not short lived nonetheless. But with the Sacramento Kings having to continue to go up against Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins & a fully healthy Golden State Warriors team, we’ll have to see if the Kings can continue to light the beam over the next week with their insane crowd, fans, and atmosphere.

I'm glad someone brought this up. Of course I don't expect Lyles and Monk to put up almost 60 between them. But at the same point I don't expect Sabonis, Heurter, and Keegan to shoot a combined 9-32
Basically Fox and Monk made up the poimts Sabonis, Murray and Huerter's lacked according to season averages for ppg. Sabonis was a monster on the boards with 16 and the Kings had 19 to 7 offensive rebounds. All those second chance points add up quick.
That sounds good until you see that the entire golden state roster outside of Curry and played below their standards offensively. It's way too early to make judgments on the Kings, but we know the Warriors have another gear.
@@pstriple16 Yep...I'd say we didn't learn a lot about how this series will likely play out from Game-1, at least stylistically. Both teams are capable of playing so much better, but I'll take that win to start things off. It is intriguing that the Kings have homecourt advantage because the Warriors showed to be one of the worst road teams this season, while the Kings showed to be one of the best road teams...so factoring in a known Game-1 home win, my calculations have the Kings winning this series....& yes, you'd better believe I'm coming back here to delete this damn comment if I need to.

Neither teams play defense but the only way u can beat the kings is hoping they have a poor shooting night or u can possibly out score them. But with that said on a bad shooting night such as game one they still found a way to win. I say a bad night because it's not a nightly thing where fox and monk score almost 40 points. Keegan Murray who broke the rookie 3pt season record only had 2 points and Kevin huerter only scored 6 points. Sabonis even with the double only score 12 points. If thats only game one imagine what a good night for them will be.
Monk is fully capable of putting those numbers again. 6th man of the year candidate for a reason. Sabonis will come back to his mvp form and just wait until murray and huerter get hot from deep. Kings played a C- minus game and still won, so much more to be unleashed. Light the damn beam

I won't feel comfortable with any series until they've actually won it, but I am very encouraged by what happened in Game 1. During the season, Huerter, Murray, and Sabonis combined to average 46.5 points a game. In Game 1, that trio scored 20. Huerter and Murray, both 40%+ 3-point shooters, combined to go 0-8. So that's 3/5 of the starters giving less than half their typical production...and still the Kings scored 126.
Will Fox score 38 again? Will Monk score 32 or Lyles 16? Well, of those, Lyles could easily score 16 again. But, sure. Monk could score 32. Fox could score 38. But they might not need to. The Kings won't necessarily need those same performances to score 126 again.
This is an amazing video...as a Kings fan, really impressed with this. I'm always shocked when anyone shows any real knowledge/interest relative to the Kings.

As a dubs fan, I predicted that this kings warriors series would be one sided, either team can take it, but whoever does I see it going 5 to 6.
As a dubs fan I obviously want them to win, but I'm from Sacramento, and it's wild seeing them in the playoffs. So if they do win, I'll be happy but frustrated if they lose next round.
This series has the makings to be one of the all time best for sure. Unfortunately we have to meet in the first round and one of our teams has to go home. It’s going to be another huge test to see if the Kings can deal with the adjustments game to game starting tonight for game 2. If they can’t deal with those adjustments by a game 3 the Warriors will show they can out class the Kings, if the Kings can deal with the adjustments they have a good opportunity to take the series, but it’s just being and going to be a fun one for sure no matter what the outcome is.
GSW has no answer to the Kings 50 backcourt. GP2 might slow one of them down, but then the other one just goes to work scorching Wiggins, DiVincinzo, Thompson, Curry, etc.

Huh, weird analysis for one game. Huerter and Murray missed a variety of wide open looks in the first quarter. Make some and Domas probably has a triple double night. I also expect to see Kessler at some point which changes their shape on the floor. So would TD. Alex Len was the surprise of this round. Domas will be just fine.The Warriors will have to keep adapting. Klay is my big concern.
Wiggins was 1-8, Klay 5-14 and Poole was 2-5, with Wiggins missing an open 3 pointer that would have put them up by 2 with seconds to go, and only played 28 minutes. Monk is not going 14 for 14 from the Ft line every game. I think some people are miscalculating just how methodical and dangerous the Dubs are, and how they make adjustments.

A little perspective on Monk's performance: in the last 22 games of the season, Monk scored 20+ only 2 times. For the season, he scores 20 or more only 16% of the time (12 games out of 77). He's now 3 out of the last 23 scoring 20 or better if you include game 1, that's 13% of the time. The Kings MUST get more out of the other players, you can't rely on Monk to get you 20+ ppg. Combined with the fact that they only won by 3 and it easily could've gone the other way, the Kings should be concerned about getting more out of other players not named Fox.
And if you watched Kings ball all season, you’d understand that NO Kings fans are at all worried lol. Literally 3 of our starters had their worst performances all season, what’s nice about our squad is someone else can always step up. Just like TD did on our TNT vs Nets game, or Monk/Lyles/Len in this game or Monk & Fox going off again for the 176-175 historic Clippers classic.
So none of us are stressed, if anything we feel even better given how poorly Sabonis, Red Velvet & Keegan were last night. Look at the 3 point figures for our entire squad, Kevin & Keegan sharpshooters, Keegan breaking rookie record. So we can drive with folks like Fox & Monk, but also use that to collapse and kick out to a Monk, Kevin, Keegan, Lyles & Barnes on the perimeter.
It’s going to be a great series we’re all excited about, but anyone who followed this team this season and watched, knows we had a TERRIBLE night and still won cause we been playing likes it’s the playoffs all season, Fox ain’t winning that clutch award cause we coast to victories lol

If we can pick up 1 win from the next 2, the series is as good as over. Us King's fans have waited far too long for this. Loudest fans in the league at home - atmosphere even for those experienced players of GSW is a massive factor. Also, don't overlook DM. He's a very smart player and can Lock-up any PG in the NBA.
Having said that, the series could still go either way at this point. Can't count GSW out yet.

The Warriors have a horrible road record, Fox goes off scoring +50% his average, Monk goes off scoring 200% of his average, the two combining for 70 pts, at home, with that crowd, AND THEY ONLY WON BY 3 POINTS... @@drakosha8885 I know that Monk in his last 22 games has averaged 13.6 ppg which is only slightly better than his season average. Kings should've won game 1 by more than 6 points if all the hype is real, so that's why I think the Warriors have more confidence than Kings fans think they should.

Go through our season record, and go through all the players and see all the variety of players we have going off on any given night lol literally our two best sharpshooters had their worst game in that game for example, so others filled in, that’s how we been rolling all year. We are deep with a lot of options, Kings fans ain’t worried, we feel very encouraged that a CRAZY bad showing by Sabonis, Heurter and Keegan Murray resulted in a win
