WOW! Thank SO much for sharing this rare and wonderful film! The SP 4449 is one of my all-time favorite locomotives! It still astounds me that the guys were able to get her done in FOUR MONTHS!! That was a LOT of VERY HARD work!! They did an incredibly good job!!
I've seen pictures of 4449 back when still sat in Oaks park and it looked really sad how it was slowly falling apart. I'm so glad that the people of Portland restored this locomotive. It's one of my favorite locomotives.
I got to have my picture take in front of her the day she rolled out of the Hoyt St roundhouse under steam. She was still black and silver. I was 7 at that time.
