The guy was a celeb that didn't want to be a celeb. He wanted to enjoy himself, learn the culture and show us the experiences you could embrace while there.
I miss this guy. He inspired my wanderlust whenever I work abroad and go exploring off the Google charts looking for food spots. He was a badass who wasn't afraid to speak his mind and appreciated the culture behind food.
Hate to be 'that person', but this ain't borneo...it's in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia...across the sea and a couple hours flight away from Borneo, I'm afraid.
I think its most probably cause the episode title of his travel show is Borneo. He plan to go Sarawak for his show but like other states in Malaysia, most of the time, you have to stop at KL first.
Man I miss Anthony he would go to a little street stall somewhere in China on a rainy Tuesday night and find some banging ass food and open your eyes to all types of culinary foods there will never be anyone else like him RIP
that's why I love Bourdain. he knows what Wok Hay is but in the ears of the assuming OTC (other than Chinese) it means the breath of the Dragon that gives the food it's heat flare.

We all miss him, but I think the only thing I can do to deal with that is to continue and spread his mentality on food culture. There are so many things that separate the different people around the world, but the one thing we all have in common is that we gotta eat. Anthony Bourdain always showed me that no matter where you end up, there are people to meet and therefore food to try. You don’t gotta love everything you taste but always be open to try it as long as it won’t kill you.
I really love how he told a story about the places, it was not just the food, it was the whole experience and the people, RIP and God bless my fellow foodie mentor
Can confirm: when you're in Hong Kong (or whatever part of SE Asia this was filmed in), you want to go to one of these roadside spicy crab joints. Without question.
Char Kway Teow Bitches! Anthony you never could really describe what you did because to you, you were just getting paid to be you! But what you never understood is that you were the common denominator, a person that a street vendor from Vietnam and the POTUS could relate to, have a conversation with and both those peoples as different as they were, found in you something familiar, something soothing and something completely relatable, and most importantly, you saw those two people with the same level of respect! You are sorely missed!
the shop is at jalan alor, if you walk down the street from bukit bintang keep walking towards the end and its on the left side you'll see the ugly mickey mouse logo.
I lived in Singapore for a total of 20 years and kway Teow and pepper crab are two of the best. Totally unique to Singapore and Malaysia. While Singapore is one of the three most expensive cities in the world, the Hawker centres and Food courts offer up amazing local food SUPER cheap. It’s all due to the massive melting pot these countries are: indigenous Malays, then Chinese, then Arabs and then Indians. Now that Singapore is a huge private banking center, many many wealthy educated Indians have relocated there to work in the banking sector and thus high end Indian restaurants catering to this group have proliferated. Amazing.
The world will never be the same without you, Tony. My heart breaks over and over every time I remember you and the global impact of the things you did.🥺
yes it will. its a better place, he was a disgusting coward who it was all about me me me not even his kids he left. a coward, who often made fun of people who were less successful than him or different, a true bully in the worst ways. you know when they found his body he was covered in piss and shyt? lol like his intestinal tract exploded, i heard it really stunk, google it. good times lmao
I'm sure probably some local on his team brought him there instead of it being a random place because this place is FAMOUS! The place is plastered with pictures of celebrities (mostly Asians) who visited this place over the years and at least occupies 5 shop lots across the whole block. It's always packed with people, and yes, it's making a Malaysian abroad really homesick right now.

he said it himself he's more of a tv personality than a celeb chef.
This man eats and talks to his food like it’s his lover 👍

It's been years since he killed himself. I still miss him whenever I see snippets like this. Tony, I love you.

Sad to hear anthony passed away.
This guy had it all. And he killed himself. I am broke, I am ugly and quite stupid...and I want to live.
5 Mark Walhberg films long?! This man should have won the Nobel peace Prize just for not going on a murder rampage.
