Thank you for this video. I couldn't even see up there behind the sink. This helped me visualize what I was dealing with so that I could get the old faucet removed.

THANK YOU. All the other videos showed totally different faucets and I was looking for a nut that didn't exist!

Never de-installed this type of faucet before. Was at a loss until I found your video. Thanks for posting!

Informative as always. I bet the hardest part is getting under the sink, not much room there for working.

Yes indeed. I had to get in the mindset to get on my back and crawl under there. New faucet is nice though 😁 Thanks for watching!

    In theory......
    This method is great...
    HOWEVER.....
I've NEVER seen threads so clean on an actual faucet that needs replacement.

Yeah I'm not sure why this faucet had such a short life (it was probably 12 years old), but the new one has been much nicer.

I had same issue. I wd40 from bottom and top. Removed faucet handle and spun fixture from the top using vice grips. Once loose i held mounting ring inside cabinet while partner spun fixture from top. Thanks for this helpful vid.

You lucked out, anytime I have a plumbing job, the hardware is ancient. Great how to though. Made it look like an easy job. Also may save someone else from making that same mistake.

I couldn't get any leverage on the ring. Partially screwed the smaller screws back in and had something to grab and start the process.

My one-hole pull-down Kohler kitchen faucet looks the same in your video. I need help on how to replace the hot water hose. Thanks!

There's been some water leakage, and the brass looks green. It started to unscrew and then got hung up. It's loose enough that the whole faucet rotates. And gawd, what a cramped area to try to work in!

Note to self: You don't have the good tools and you Jumpstart bodies....Call the plumber if The Eclectic Handyman is not around 🤣🐾🦊🐺

Hahaha! BTW can you believe on another nut under the sink I actually didn't have a socket of the right size?? I kept saying to myself, "all these tools and I still am missing some!" 😂

The split ring with those two tightening screws is a piece of junk. Go back to the one solid ring and tighten it up. Otherwise it’s gonna come loose all the time.

I have this exact problem... i tried a large bite basin wrench but cannot loosen this round nut.
What next, grind it off with a Dremel tool?
any advice or encouragement would be welcome

Maybe try spraying with some penetrating oil and let it sit for a while. I have a 13" Craftsman adjustable wrench I use for under the sink as it can be expanded quite wide. Hope you can get it removed!
