  • This video is about the story of my first electric that was left behind in the street. Since the beginning it had its issued that made play not so well but I never lost faith in it. I always wanted to make it play great by fixing all these issues. I have had it for almost 30 years and after many mods I can finally say that she is back and it came strong.
    Buckle up and enjoy.

Wow, what a good story! I came across your channel while looking for info about Epiphone LesPaul ... and finally I found lots of other interesting topics. I start playing again after a 22 year break. I also decided to give a second life to my first electric guitar, an Ibanez (made in Korea) 1989. I bought it new when I was a teenager, paid for with my pocket money saved from a weekend job over a period of almost 2 years. It had remained in its case all this time but the corrosion had still done some damage to the electronics. I changed the jack, the volume / tone pots (CTS), the tone cap (orange drop), the Humbucker (Seymour Dunkan JB). I also changed the wiring to be able to split the humbucker. ... And above all I added a piece of oak in the cavity to block the Floyd Rose to allow it to only move in drop, impossible to pull. This modification makes the tuning much easier when you want to change the key ... it is supposed to add sustain also. I also take care of my things so it still good looking. I will NEVER sell this guitar!

Man I'm glad to hear that!!!! At least I'm not the only crazy person that tries to save his first guitar 😂😂. It totally worth it! JB is an excellent pickup and if you split it is even more versatile. I'm working on a new video about easy mods and hacks but is going to take a while because we had a baby a few months ago you know how that is LOL. Thanks!!
