Hard to get a replacement when you are drafting 18 or lower in the draft every year. Franchise QBs are at the top of the draft. You get lucky if you find a 2nd rounder or 3rd rounder that develops into a star. It is extremely rare. That's the QBs that the Steelers have drafted. Why? Because they are an above average team most seasons. They went and got Pickett but he was a mistake. But the NFL draft history is littered with mistakes. The Steelers may need to tank this season so that they can take a shot at one of the kids coming out of college and dare I say it, replace the coach.

Steelers have developed an o-line from bottom 5 to top 10 in the league in 3 years. They have two better QBs than anything they had last year. They brought in an OC that has always had a good run game and where they’re lacking on offense is at the WR position, and they’ve been trying to address it by going after aiyuk. A year ago Colin said Rodgers wouldn't be bad but Irrelevant in the AFC. I think that was a good take but now he keeps covering the Jets like they aren't going to be an 8-9 mess, rather he talk about Lawrence or Jalen Hurts or Will Levis.
What were the other options lmao we had a QB room of Kenny Pickett mason Rudolph and Mitch Trubisky with the 20th overall pick wtf could we have done?? Y’all don’t know what ur talking about
This is just another example of how quarterbacks make coaches. Tomlin looked great with Big Ben, completely lost without. Same with Belichick. When he had Brady, people said he was the greatest coach of all time. Completely inept without Brady, gets fired. Sean Payton looks like a genius with Drew Brees, can't make the playoffs without him. Payton at least knows it and drafted Bo Nix for that reason, but you see the same story repeated over and over across the NFL.
Mangini is full of horse poop. Aaron does care, does have empathy for his teammates. The majority of his teammates in his career say they genuinely ❤ his presence and what he brings to the table.
I’m not an Aaron Rodgers fan, but with all the fires that you mentioned that are better than Aaron Rodgers at their positions to me it sounds like if Aaron has a mediocre year that the Jets could win the AFC East.
"This guys better at his position than Aaron is at QB" he says while using 4 snaps as evidence. I'm not a Rodgers or Jets fan really but I hope he has one of the greatest seasons ever just to make all these guys look silly. Same for Dak and Kirk.
I get the skepticism on Rodgers but what I don’t get is saying he’s the 5th best player and acting like that tells a story. It doesn’t, in fact it downplays the importance of a quarterback which obviously the jets need more than the other 4 guys he listed. A star DT, CB, WR, and RB don’t move the needle like a plus QB.
Love when Colin talks baseball and can only say buzzword starts like Otani, Betts, or Judge. A savior brings championships, not jersey sales. Easiest one would be Seager to the Rangers since he can only talk about Dodgers apparently.
Rodgers is nowhere near as good as he used to be. He can still deliver strikes, but now he NEEDS protection because his feet ain't what they used to be. Less tangible is the fact Rodgers has turned into a DIVA who doesn't put the team first in everything.
Like, I can agree that Aaron may not be the best player on the Jets, but like, you just named of 5 other dudes you think could be better, and you don't think Aaron + all those guys wouldn't be a HUGE threat in the NFL? I think its pretty delusional to not think Aaron, if he stays healthy, will be a huge boon for the Jets

Big Ben didn’t need pass protection for 10 years they didn’t worry about it lol now it’s huge problem
I’m hoping this is Tomlin’s last season with the Steelers. That contract extension needs to not materialize. The Steelers have not been relevant since 2017 it’s disgusting. Steeler games haven’t been fun to watch offensively in a long time.
A year ago Colin said Rodgers wouldn't be bad but Irrelevant in the AFC. I think that was a good take but now he keeps covering the Jets like they aren't going to be an 8-9 mess, rather he talk about Lawrence or Jalen Hurts or Will Levis.
Stupid to underestimate the pro baddass QBs Russ & Arron. These pros are the best on the planet.
If it was his idea to sign Wilson and Fieids then he is to be blamed partially
What were the other options lmao we had a QB room of Kenny Pickett mason Rudolph and Mitch Trubisky with the 20th overall pick wtf could we have done?? Y’all don’t know what ur talking about
I wish we were a little younger with sports pundits
This is just another example of how quarterbacks make coaches.
Tomlin looked great with Big Ben, completely lost without. Same with Belichick. When he had Brady, people said he was the greatest coach of all time. Completely inept without Brady, gets fired. Sean Payton looks like a genius with Drew Brees, can't make the playoffs without him. Payton at least knows it and drafted Bo Nix for that reason, but you see the same story repeated over and over across the NFL.
Agree💪🏾
Mangini is full of horse poop. Aaron does care, does have empathy for his teammates. The majority of his teammates in his career say they genuinely ❤ his presence and what he brings to the table.
They still have not replaced Big Ben on the Steelers. They got a couple running QB's one that used to be a good QB that was like five years ago
But they improved and should win more than they did last year
What are the odds AR doesn’t finish the season as the Jets starting QB: imo 50.5%.
I’m not an Aaron Rodgers fan, but with all the fires that you mentioned that are better than Aaron Rodgers at their positions to me it sounds like if Aaron has a mediocre year that the Jets could win the AFC East.
Last year in preseason Kenny Pickett was the next one and the Steelers were game breakers. This year they’re a disaster. Let the hype begin.
Steelers fan here. Colin is 100% correct. Tomlin is inept.
Colin isn't a top 50 sports commentator.
"This guys better at his position than Aaron is at QB" he says while using 4 snaps as evidence. I'm not a Rodgers or Jets fan really but I hope he has one of the greatest seasons ever just to make all these guys look silly. Same for Dak and Kirk.
Overreacting to preseason 😂
Did you hear about this offense? They are almost last every year
I can't wait to use "It's just Pre-Season!" after Week 1.
His Jets take was wild !!!!! But yeah they should of traded and paid Lamar when they had the chance
Quarterback is a different position than corner, pass rusher, running back, receiver or etc. Colin just pulled a skip bayless move with that poor take
Love when Colin talks baseball and can only say buzzword starts like Otani, Betts, or Judge.
Cowherd just rambles on about whatever pops into his head! He rarely completes a thought!
So was it Sean Payton’s fault when Russ was struggling?
Bro it’s preseason. It’s all fake. No one wants to show their cards. Steelers looked great last preseason and we know how awful they were offensively
Not showing their cards is completely different from your starters giving up multiple sacks and turnovers
So now they are GOD awful so they will be good this year? lol Good luck
@@Rynos8771 Thank You people are dopes
@@PatriotWatchUSA and Steelers fans are the dopiest apparently
Though he is right I just really hate hearing the truth about my team when it comes to Tomlin. Yeah I winning record is cool but I want playoff wins and championships. Lately I've been hoping we go 1-16 just so we can get a real QB. Smh I don't know what we should do. Hopefully one of these guys (Russ, Fields) surprise us
This is getting really embarrassing for Colin
