- While many young artists have heard about Houdini as a visual effects solution, they might ask themselves “How does this help me to make video games and why should I learn how to use it?” For game artists, there is a growing list of studios turning to Houdini to bring procedural solutions to game pipelines. Learn why a procedural approach can support tasks such as Environment Building, Level Design and Realtime FX
Robert Magee is a Senior Product Marketing Manager at SideFX who has been working with Houdini for over 20 years. He has created lots of learning material and demos designed to help artists understand how going procedural with Houdini can benefit their work.
Working procedurally is so awesome and the possibility is not limited, but the learning curve is definitely deeper. No pains, no gains. I wish oneday I coud finally be a Houdini master.
For now, I can only draw a bunch of primitives. Seems like there is quite a long journey ahead!

I can't believe a school would use mac for any game design or vfx
You guys only push out Unreal tutorial and keep Ignoring Unity Developers
I think it is because Unreal is becoming industrial standard for AA/AAA games. Unity is more about casual games, and there is no need for Houdini power in such games. As Unity Developer I wanted recently to try Houdini, but as I understand Houdini team concentrates on the integration with Unreal. That is sad. I think I should try Maya instead as main modelling tool.
saythat to the morons who work at Unity holds back the ability of their own software, whatever they buy, go bad in an instant. For example, recently they took Speedtree, before they took Speedtree the updates they made to the software were significant and useful, well since Unity took it, I can't see anything significant they have done. FUCK with UNITY
