We just use the big 4’ x 8’ sheet of paper mulch on the bed and then I cover it lightly with soil to hold it down. As the season goes on I will probably add grass clippings on top whenever my husband mows the lawn, too, for extra nitrogen.
I had the same thought recently because we had some here during construction. The paper that we used for the templates came pre-embedded with some organic fertilizers and I know it will break down, so I felt good using it. But I would think almost any thick paper would work if it wasn’t treated with anything harmful (chemicals, bleach)?
This one is Weedguard Plus; it's heavier duty than craft paper so it's better for blocking weeds. I think you could use craft paper in a pinch. We got ours a few years ago as a large roll from gardeners.com.
J’aime votre inventivité! Bonjour du Québec
Bonjour, et merci beaucoup 😁
Thanks - paper mulch is ONLY that long sheet of paper...or do you have cut up (shredded) bits/pieces of paper under the long sheet to cover it all?

Wonder if you could use builders paper? It’s the paper they put down to protect wood flooring in new homes.

@@WellGroundedGardens thanks I will have to investigate this. Have a good night.
You, too!
How do you keep it from molding underneath when it gets wet
It just breaks down into the soil; I’ve never had it mold. That might be unique to this specific paper, but it was never an issue
Did you buy craft paper? Did you put compost over it?
I use WeedGuard Plus and then yes I put rough compost over it to hold it down
Is that a specific paper, or is it the same as a roll of craft paper?
