Absolutely love your morning walks all around the city!!! The beautiful sunrise and the chirping birdies. 😎🐦🕊🦅🌄🌞 Gives us a sense of real Las Vegas living, not just the touristy stuff. Thank you so much Jacob for sharing. 🌼😁💜✌👍👏
Great walk videos thus far! I've been tempted to explore the Strip and Downtown in the twilight hours but, I'm too lazy to stick head out of bed during those time between midnight and 6 am. You're doing gods work for us.
What can I say - but THANK YOU for your videos. You may think this is strange - but when I walk off the plane, I can feel a great vibe from Vegas. I ALMOST feel the same watching your videos (unfortunately, a little sad, since I'm not there). YEARS ago, I wanted to walk to The Western (it was still open and had $2 blackjack). I made it to the El Cortez and turned back - seemed like a lot of homeless (at the time) were milling around and it just didn't feel safe - and this was in the middle of the afternoon. The hotel was one of the WORST ones in Vegas at the time - least kept up. The second worst one was The Golden Spike (went there and had to turn around at the front entrance. I had my mom with me at the time and the smoke, stale beer and smell of urine filled the air (and this was just as you entered). It sucked at the time - but weird as it sounds, it's still a Vegas Memory.
Thank you Jacob, I love these videos! I was especially excited to see Fremont street because my favorite music video was shot right where you were at 11:08 and then also in the desert outside las Vegas. That music video was actually how I got interested in Vegas in the first place and so on found your channel which grew my interest even more :) anyways, cool seeing that place from a different view
Nicole Marie oh that's so fun! What a shame it's closing. And yes moving to Vegas would be a dream. I don't even live in America yet haha soo I've got a long way to go
Jacob I’m in vegas right now everything you talk about in your vids about moving and checking out vegas for yourself is right on the money i decided i’m moving here !!! Spoke to a budtender about good location’s and he was sounding like you bro thanks for all your vids !
Good morning, sending you a wave "hello". I work downtown 10th and Garces. Thankfully i do not have to get up at 6a. I have worked downtown for 5 years, and the cleanup is pretty amazing to see. Its still rough around the edges, but one day it will get there. I kind of feel bad that the homeless really have nowhere to go. ( we need a tent city or something for them, IMO) Thank you for the Video, I appreciate your dedication and friendly attitude showing us Las Vegas. I live here, and its fun to watch you go
Hi Jacob, I knew Fremont Street ran East to West by accident when I was driving on Fremont street 10 yrs. ago but, when you're driving you can't sight see. This video was very interesting and I think it's sad that all those motels went out of business. Another things is that I didn't think Container Park was down the street from the canopy! Interesting! Thanks for sharing another great video!
Very eerie feeling walking around the city early in the morning - kinda like Charlton Heston in the opening scene of "The Omega Man", only without the machine gun LOL
El Cortez has loose slots and I always win there. Same thing with Hooters on East Tropicana. The tour books recommend Cheffini's hot dogs at Container Park. I tried it; it was just another hot dog.
sutherland9 EL CORTEZ and HOOTERS do have loose slots. Hooters has terrible rooms but a nice casino area. Haven’t been in years though. In hooters casino I used to always win on the dukes of hazard slot machines and on lobster mania at EL CORTEZ. GOOD TIMES!
LOVE East Fremont! I recently passed my alcohol education test and have been seriously considering a move from Cleveland to Downtown Vegas. My Cousin was in Summerlin and is living off strip now but for me its Downtown Vegas all the way. Its the people working and living down there pushing the change and they're proud to say they live there. I LOVE that! Its so attractive! And being in the service industry for almost 20 year's makes me want to move even more. Thanks for all the helpful tip video's and the content you continue to make. Cheers!
I'v visited Las Vegas a few times in the last 4 years and one of the places I'v stayed is just 2 blocks further down Fremont street. The Las Vegas Hostel at 14th and Fremont. The last time I was there I was talking to one of the maids there and she said Some out of town hotel investor was buying up properties around downtown a few years ago telling people that he was planning on building a Huge (for downtown) Mega resort but from what she heard the plans fell through
Really enjoyed this video. We have been coming to LV since 1981 and never went east of Las Vegs Blvd on Fremont St. Now thanks to you a got an idea of what it's like. Next time we come I will be tempted to get up early and have breakfast at the El Cortez.
Stayed at the Las Vegas Hostel just east of where this was filmed last July. The neighborhood is still iffy but there is an amazing pizza place near it. I love all the art on Fremont East!
Hi.. This is Cool. I haven't explored past the popular part of Freemont. Have you done a blog on the graveyard of all the old neon signs? Would they let you film it?
My buddy had a law office on Maryland Parkway when visiting him I’d walk from his office up Fremont all the time. It looks a little more built up than it was then.
that Western Hotel looks like some great cheese from the '70's. Nice walk downtown there. I have to stay there instead of strip next time. Love the old abandoned buildings/motels too.
I haven't lived in LV since 2010. So much has changed down on Freemont. It's hard to believe that there would be condos next to that urinal The Western. In my darker days I spent plenty of time down that way. Some of those motels werte great to party in. My favorite was the Desert Moon.
I just got back from a week stay at the el cortez. I'm also a morning person but didn't really sleep at all. I recommend walking to the dispensary in the morning from Fremont.
I remember years ago (2000 to 2008) how fifthly and unsafe East Fremont Street use to be and some of the characters I would bump into both colorful and some just down right mortifying was nothing like I ever experienced before. I did once walked into the Western and even though the place was a dump they did have some really cheap food as I remember in their snack bar. Glad to see they cleaned up the neighborhood some what by closing down some of those old cockroach motels where nothing but drug addicts, prostitutes, and other seedy characters would stay and hang out. Another time I also once walked into the EL Cortez just to cool off and to get away from the street people where it was like a whole different world inside where I felt a whole lot safer. Once side, they had this really cool old fashion ice cream and lunch counter where I had a sundae at a very reasonable price. As soon as I walked outside after finishing my sundae, my anxiety level, and body temperature just went back up 200%.
I love your walks around Vegas and learning where the locals go. Will be there in July for vacation. Could you also share good hiking or biking trails?
DD2015 Check out Red Rock Canyon National Conservation, lots of nice hiking trails there. There are mountain bike trails nearby as well but July is not the best season though, it's already 110 in June, Spring and Fall is the best!
Desert Monk thank you!! We spent a brief amount of time at Red Rock, but it was in July. Loved it despite the heat. I wondered if there were any bike friendly streets through town. Any area... When we drive around, I don't see a lot of space in between a biker and vehicles. Just curious.
Hey nice channel! I saw you with av daniel . Have you been living in vegas all your life? I visited vegas in 2012 and enjoyed it. Plenty to do and alot of fun if I was an American id be living there. I hate winter lol
The exact moment you were walked by PublicUs, I was literally reading about them online. I think it's a sign that we must try this place out on our next trip.
I have a suggestion, Jacob. How about a tour of the spots that are from the reality TV shows. Gold and Silver Pawn, Count's Kustoms, Rick's Restorations, Etc. I would understand the no taping policy inside the businesses, but a video showing you getting there and area would be nice. Great video! Hope to run into you when I am there in July. Food and drinks on me!
The Atomic Liquor joint probably got the name from back in the day when watching the nuclear bomb detonation was a big tourist draw. I’ll guess those closed motels were forcibly shutdown by the city.
Fun fact: the giant fire hydrant outside the dog park has an accessible functioning hydrant inside it, making it the unofficial largest fire hydrant in the world.
So while walking about what is your EDC? I never walk anywhere in this town without a little extra insurance. Puts the odds in my favor, where I like to keep them.
Yes it is I am pretty sure.. They restored it and some other signs from older era's and placed them around Vegas. I watched a video about the boneyard that told about it Tim.
I used to go to the Western in my younger days(40 years ago). PLayed bingo and took in the penny and nickel slots.I used to save the pennies so I could dump them in their slots. Back then they did not have the paper in paper out garbage of today. IT was more fun. Snack bar served good cheap food. The only problem was where to park the bike. There was a nook in back of the casino that had a handrail and that was where I parked it.Then one night I was mugged in that nook and my wallet stolen. After that I would only go there if I had a ride.I just then became aware how dangerous it was in back of the Western.
That area of lower Fremont street used to be terrible and full of drug dealing and prostitution. I remember the Ferguson and other little motels. It’s funny to see the word FUN lights up in Ferguson! I used to visit Las Vegas about four to five times a year places like EL CORTEZ and Fremont street experience and I would take the bus from the airport that came down that end that’s how stingy I was before Uber. Nice to see it remodeled.
A fence around a block, aka dog park, is a new business? Basically you showed everyone don't go past the shoe. Which we already knew, just confirmed it for us. You Really think that area is safe at night? Do that walk at 2 am vs 6 am.
Absolutely love your morning walks all around the city!!! The beautiful sunrise and the chirping birdies. 😎🐦🕊🦅🌄🌞 Gives us a sense of real Las Vegas living, not just the touristy stuff. Thank you so much Jacob for sharing. 🌼😁💜✌👍👏

Somebody has to do it lol
Wow, they really cleaned up that area. I like how they're placing some of the vintage signs like the Slipper and the Golden Goose along the sidewalk.

Love your stuff Jacob. I’m trying to mimic you. But in New Orleans & Biloxi gulf coast areas.
Thanks Jon!

Awesome, it brings back memories of the best holiday of my life, I loved Container Park there. I hope to come to US sometimes again.
great intro setting and showing where exactly walk was. thank you.

The Container park is a good place to look and eat.

love it. It would be nice to see you walk around a local weed dispensary next
Feels like I am in Vegas.....please make more of these walk videos. Keep it up....visited the Container Park a couple of years ago....nice place....

Nice video, I stayed at the downtowner motel for a week so I've done that walk a couple times morning and night your video brings back memories.
Cleaned it up a lot, used to take the walk down to the Western if my luck ran out elsewhere downtown. After midnight it could be interesting
Stayed at the Las Vegas Hostel just east of where this was filmed last July. The neighborhood is still iffy but there is an amazing pizza place near it. I love all the art on Fremont East!

I wish I could control your walk with a controller. I guess I'll have to come check it out for myself. Good vid, thanks Jacob.
This is great, places most people never see when going to Vegas. Thanks
Nice job. You picked the right subject to shoot.
that Western Hotel looks like some great cheese from the '70's. Nice walk downtown there. I have to stay there instead of strip next time. Love the old abandoned buildings/motels too.
I Love Las Vegas and love it even more with your videos - thank you Jacob !!!!
The El Cortez is on the National Register of Historic Places. The old looking vintage casino is preserved for us all to enjoy.
So cool, I've walked this area so many times in the morning when it's mostly dead. Then at night during Life is Beautiful when it's just crazy.
I haven't lived in LV since 2010. So much has changed down on Freemont. It's hard to believe that there would be condos next to that urinal The Western. In my darker days I spent plenty of time down that way. Some of those motels werte great to party in. My favorite was the Desert Moon.
Thanks for the tour have u been to their parks like Aliante Park u should do some of the parks
I just got back from a week stay at the el cortez. I'm also a morning person but didn't really sleep at all. I recommend walking to the dispensary in the morning from Fremont.
When I was there last year anything past container park was really really rough thank you for your video

Noticed the green box lanes for bikers in Summerlin. That's a plus! Lots of construction this year, especially downtown.
Thanks for all of your hard work.
Great video!! It shows another side of Vegas. The very old side 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the video, but it's depressing seeing all those closed buildings.
Loved it. It’s giving me some idea. Because I’m moving to Vegas
Hey nice channel! I saw you with av daniel . Have you been living in vegas all your life? I visited vegas in 2012 and enjoyed it. Plenty to do and alot of fun if I was an American id be living there. I hate winter lol

I stayed at the Western once and visited it many times. I'm sad it's closed. I had looked forward to some $1.00 Blackjack.
I love Evel Pie! I can't wait to visit Vegas again in March
Hi Jacob liked the video that was a good time of morning. To walk down there. BE nice if whoever buys that travelers motel.
Best restaurant i like downtown is Carson Kitchen on 6th! Chicken Skins with Honey and the Bacon Jam!
The guy who owns Zippos bought Furggosons & has made the motel into mini studio apartments & the parking lot I'd a tiny home community for artists.
I enjoyed the early AM walk down E. Fremont. Would you consider doing a vlog dedicated to touring Atomic Liquors?
The Atomic Liquor joint probably got the name from back in the day when watching the nuclear bomb detonation was a big tourist draw. I’ll guess those closed motels were forcibly shutdown by the city.

I love your videos!!!!
I was in the Western once. It was the bottom of the bottom.
Yeah, I don't think they changed the carpeting in 70 years.
What percentage of places in Vegas are open 24 hours would you say.
Cool video! Thanks!

I Love you JACOB....
Why do you get up so early? GEESH!!!
Billy K. My guess it's the only safe time to walk down there. Crackheads still sleeping.
It's not as hot in the morning, the temperature is in the 80s at 6am in summer time.
I was just there 2 days ago!
Cool video, your vlogs are awesome 😎
Love it nice.
GREAT VIDEO.............
Nice Jacob
Le Thai is awesome
Where do all the homeless live in the culverts? I saw a tv show about that few years ago.

Maryland parkway and Harmon that's my neighborhood
Mine too, I live just around the corner on Escondido
Locals goto red rock and other outer casinos. They don't goto the bad area that you walked, unless you're a local crackhead.
A fence around a block, aka dog park, is a new business? Basically you showed everyone don't go past the shoe. Which we already knew, just confirmed it for us. You Really think that area is safe at night? Do that walk at 2 am vs 6 am.
I don't recommend it past dark, people.Past the shoe is OK,for a few blocks.
I live around that area and shop at 11 Street Records.
Bad neighborhood if I was you I would stop walking now.
Tyty bro.....Gr8...vid? M8
jacob U know so l;little about the town.
I won’t pass El Cortez
