But South Western Railway are replacing the Class 458 along with the Class 455, Class 456 and Class 707 with the Class 701 Aventra "Arterio" units that is due to enter service later this year. Perhaps SWR should keep the Class 458 for the Alton service. Or will they be scrapped along with Class 455 & Class 456. And Class 707 cascaded to Southeastern.

For your info, the 458 is now replacing 442s on long distance services. 701s will be replacing the 455, 456, 458, and 707 on local services. The 707s will go to Southeastern, the 455 and 456s will most likely be scrapped
