IMHO, Pale Rider and The Outlaw Josey Wales are two Clint's most enjoyable movies. Clint is the avenging angel. No one does it better! I love how, when the thugs uselessly empty their guns in the general store, Clint waits for them to finish reloading before plugging them all with one shot each. Classic.

Not relying on everyone having a Colt 1873 Single Action Army "Peacemaker" was a nice detail in Pale Rider. The Peacemaker became a trope in Western films and TV shows.
The cap and ball revolvers were still in use well into the 1880's, as the last manufacturer of revolver combustible cartridges did not go out of business until 1888! Colt Single Actions were practically impossible for the general public to get until around 1877 or so as most of the first 3 years of production were sent to U.S. Ordnance. Lots of cap and ball were converted to cartridge or just left as cap and ball. The U.S. Government was gradually selling off all the cap and ball revolvers still retained in inventory, so it was possible to buy a decent condition cap and ball revolver for around a quarter of the cost of a new cartridge gun well into the last part of the 19th Century.
The two men getting gunned down at 4:37 are so satisfying to watch, especially the ginger-bearded one who dies so well. What a man. 3:20 is also great, with the four guys sticking around and fumbling with their guns, practically begging to get shot.
