So very sorry for all the loss and sacrifices you have made. My greatest appreciation for all of you and all firefighters and first responders. May you all stay safe ❤.
I don't know how they stopped the fire near my house, it was like they put a wall up.Very sad that they didn't get a chance to get important things while they're saving other homes. We need to see a collection started to help them.
These brave, selfless, heroes deserve medals, thousands of dollars and their houses replaced for free, for their work during such a rough, stressful time.
Like 1st responders, others run away, we run toward. Yes it has lifelong effects for us. But we are resilient, just like our First Nations people, They define resilience, they are still here.
Thank you folks for being wonderful people putting others lives first before your own "stuff". You are a wonderful example of what we hope Canadians should be. I do however agree with another commentator: Why were these people saving a business resort over one of our housing communities? This sounds like corrupt mismanagement of resources. I think a lot of us would have felt better if they were saving the community not a bunch of wealthy tourists and the wealthy folks assets who cater to them. Is that resort going to house / shelter these families now? They'd better or a lot of folks are going to be angry.
because the housing community is surrounded by burning trees, that why, so a fire man is suppose to walk through fire to save a house that is built in the middle of the forest. Really
@@tillyburton5402 Well they pick and choose their battles. It wasn't ALWAYS surrounded by burning trees though. It would have been nice if something was done before it was too late.

When I first heard about this wildfire doing such immense damage it really shocked & scared me deeply! 💔😟🙏 You guys are just amazing with what you’re having to deal with. Ahh, my heart hurts for you guys. It’s taken my breath away 😧🫢 when I saw the images on TV news & online. My brother & sister-in-law live in Okanagan Kelowna. Not sure of the direction, but I do know that they were really quite concerned about the flames 🔥possibly getting too close to their house & he’s just been putting up a really good quality shed for himself & his wifes’ things. And then this. She showed me the sky after a few days had gone by & I saw a smokey looking sky with also a bit of orange colour, was really erry. 🫢😧 I was just there visiting in early July & then this?! My sister-in-law was struggling to keep it together due to the possibility of having to evacuate. Lost sleep & tried not to cry because her grandson was there & she didn’t want to scare him. What else can I say. I think I’ve said it all. God’s blessings to every single firefighter & their family members.
20 years ago 10 years ago this type of loss was unheard of.... What's CHANGED... THE CLIMATE... Rebuild with brick and mortar metal roofs.... CLIMATE HAS CHANGED YOUR BUILDING PRACTICES MUST ALSO....
No it hasn't, the cuts in funding for forest maintenance and changed preventative measures as well as firefighting measures themselves have changed. This loss didn't happen back then because the forests were managed better and so was the firefighting. I'm not knocking the firefighters, but the decision makers have handcuffed them. The firefighters didn't help a group of locals save their homes - they did it themselves as firefighters were told to stand down and were "assessing," while locals got down to the business of putting out small fires. They saved their OWN homes. Climate....knock it off.

Canada has 895,000,000 acres of forest. Coniferous trees, aka turpentine bombs, are a known fire hazard. Residents whose lives and livelihoods have been ruined and shattered have no one to blame except _themselves_ for their predicament. Of course, it is not that simple a matter. Any councilor in favour of felling ready-to-ignite trees in order to create a firebreak that surrounds and protects a town is declared a _denier_ and their career terminated. Instead, they rush to save a tree, resorting to _politically correct_ action with hefty fines levied on anyone that disturbs a pine, even though preserving a dangerous presence ultimately proves fateful.
Mature trees should be cleared out when property is developed and replaced with fresh saplings. New buildings. New lives. Growing older together. Conifers should not be left in place and their presence within a town should be distant and sparse and not contiguous with wild forest, otherwise residents invite catastrophe upon themselves.
The millionaires who own those waterfront homes could have bought a a water pump boat. No body wants to pay. I sure as hell don't want my tax money spent to save water front homes built right near a forest with out fire breaks. That's on them.
Kropper tell the 13 non- millionaire firefighters that your anger about a potential minuscule individual tax contribution for a water boat, is more important than the 13 firefighters.
It's saddening to think that so many homes were lost, but also lives....NOT coordinating with VOLUNTEERS who were attempting to save not only their own properties but those of their communities is shameful & while I am not saying this particular area crew was guilty of this, there is an 'agenda' going on here. In fact, it's going on all over the world...right now. If I were these firemen, I would be taking samples of the soil in areas which have not burned & testing it for aluminum, barium & strontium or any other metallic salts which can fuel fires....this a planned depopulation move & to get people off the land which is being designated as 'preserves' or 'wilderness' areas. Anyone who is aware of agenda 21 & 2030 will see this is obviously a part of that agenda. If you aren't aware, you'd best look it up....while you still have time. Just go check out the world economic forum's website here on the tube & get clued in to what THEY have in store for all of us. ie: "YOU WILL OWN NOTHING & BE HAPPY"...go see it for yourself.
Maybe it’s because volunteers aren’t trained or qualified to be fighting fires. If someone were to happen to them you KNOW the family would be suing the government/fire department. That’s why they didn’t want volunteers. The firefighters would have to babysit them to ensure they don’t get hurt. It would take away resources not gain any resources.

Forest fires are a well-known tactic of WAR. Be on the alert!
why does the video at 3:20 show them setting the fire?????
controlled burns... I believe its to steer a fire in a particular direction or to clear brush that adds fuel to the fire.
Re:comment: WHAT?! Where is this video showing the fire being started? Wanna see this!!! 😧🫢😮
