@@ksoundkaiju9256 The world has just changed so radically and we're all running to catch up. Listen. Dinosaurs and man. Two species separated by sixty-five million years of evolution, just been suddenly thrown back into the mix together. How can we possibly have the slightest idea what to expect?
Klayton, you drive me crazy by hardly ever looking back to see if the raptors or Rex are coming after you. I’m sitting here freaking out!! Wish I could play games with your confidence.
I think one of the most interesting things about playing Pine Valley is just seeing how *different* it is from the rest of Trespasser. Things like how different the arm physics are, or what Anne's model looked like early on are wonders to behold after 20 years. Then there are the little things, like the fact that the InGen boxes you find all over the island at one point had *covers* or *doors* on them at one point (Though, given how hard they seem to be to open with Trespasser's engine, that might be why they got rid of them). It's all these little things that add up to make the whole package so interesting.
Listening to John Hammond in this game is fantastic it gives the mindset of the character. Rather haunting though that Sir Richard Attenbourgh has been gone for a time.
Thanks for the Trespasser videos. I enjoyed them all. When I heard you mention that you wanted to try the Pine Valley level. I thought about sharing my fixed up version with you. A version I never shared with anyone. I spent many hours editing the various items in the level that were floating and sunken in the ground. I fixed the supply boxes too. I also edited some of the broken guns to aim forward. And lastly I edited the electric drawbridges at the end of the level to function... more or less correctly. There may be more fixes but I did the work years ago. Unfortunately when I logged in to comment to you the offer. Life... kicked me in the... Anyway, I also wanted to point out that there is an alternate rout to the plant. There is a dirt path that is by the jeep that leads past the stego and up the mountain to a raptor nest with respawning raptors. And as someone already pointed out. You were one puzzle shy of finishing the plant. There were some lights on the back of the switches by the power grid. They indicated the buttons that needed to be pressed. When all puzzles are completed some music plays. Ohh and there are some sound effects missing. They relate to the plant and do work if you play the level in the 0.96 build of the game. Or you can copy over the ".tpa" files from the 96 build into the retail game.
8:35 Looks like that wooden plank wasn't aligned correctly with the pole. Looks like it was introducing the "shoot the plank platform to rotate it" mechanic that would later be used on the mountain climb final level. 11:20 Could also be that this Rex was moved to a different level after this level was cut. 12:05 Oh no the bridge doesn't have any collision on it! FINAL: I think that the plant was either unfinished, or the level was cut BECAUSE you don't really do anything in it.
I was so excited when I saw the length of the video because I knew what it was before I even saw the title and thumbnail. Can't wait for Trespasser videos.
Nice playthrough, Klayton. If you didn't catch it, the control room building shows which subsystems have been turned on so far. By the time you got there, only 1 system was left, the transformers, which you didn't figure out (there were indeed buttons to push on it, only 2 or 3 needed it). As well, the generator room puzzle seems like you fudged it successfully without realizing. You're supposed to get the needle to stay in the green-zone by adjusting the three knobs. Fortunately for you the exit gate puzzle worked withhout completing the geo plant puzzle. Nice playthrough - looking forward to PH 8)

Klayton Fioriti this video makes a lot sense your right about everything and to be honest here trasspaser is one of the most underrated games this game in particular needs to be more appreciated because that game tells us stories from John hammond of how he did it and how it felt like to bring back the dinosaurs this game needs to remastered not only for the PC but with all the other consoles too so everyone can enjoy and love the game
(25:06) Obviously, using video game logic the symbol with the red light needs to be addressed (something activated). So, you just have to find the equipment that has that same graphic/symbol on a sign near it and then just flip the switch/turn the crank to activate it. Then you should be all set. It's a good thing you turned that first valve before entering the facility otherwise you would have had to go back outside! :P These older games had the habit of making every switch/valve something you always had to activate regardless of whether or not you knew what it did rather than making it so you had to figure out which ones you had to actually activate. So, if you turn on every switch/lever/crank you come across you're usually all set. ;) Not sure how many games you've played, but I hope this helps! :)
For the bridges into and out of the power plant you needed to lift off or shoot off the rectangular weights on the end of the bridge. And I'm pretty sure they never finished the interactive parts in the power plant. Thanks or all the great Trespasser and Jurassic Park videos!
I love you and your videos! They are amazing and i love your theories and stories of the JP background and history! Keep up the fantastic work and plz dont stop making vids!
Thank you so much, and so much thanks to you for playing this level. I loved playing this game when I was a kid, but I was never able to finish it until many years later; 2009 or something.
Well, the basic principle for geothermal power is the same as for practically all other power sources that rely on heat, rather than burning fuel or using nuclear fission to generate heat you just have to pump the water to the natural heat sources and send the resulting steam through the turbines, cool the steam down back into water, rinse and repeat. Also one of the cleanest and cheapest power sources out there.
when it comes to the added rex, it could be assumed that two tyrannosaurs were a breeding pair and had several young. since there were six originally on sorna, we have potential for three breeding pairs. it could be more green to show a younger age, like the baby rex in the lost world. we know that juvenile rexes were present at least by then, and that sub-adults were around several years later in jurassic park three. it doesnt seem unrealistic that two original rexes had offspring earlier then the parents in the lost world. just my thoughts on it! great video as usual, i was waiting for this chapter playthrough
11:18 The first T.Rex at the Lab level was not there in the beta version. The creators just liked the idea of T.Rex fighting a triceratops, so when the Pine Valley level was cut, they moved it to the Lab level
You seem confused by all the oddities in this level; you need to remember that the level was cut for a reason. It's unfortunate it was never completed and released with the final build of the game, instead it was stripped down and turned into the demo level.
Thanks for showing this! I’ve always heard of these scrapped levels but never saw them. Not sure why they didn’t leave this particular one in. It has a very Costa Rica feel... especially Montezuma, Monteverde, and Uvita/Dominical. I’ve been to the entire country. San Jose is the city and doesn’t look like this, there is no beach there. It’d be like saying there’s a beach in Dallas or Philly lol. Anyway, very cool!

I'd love to see a remastered version of trespasser with modern graphics and design, new levels and dinosaurs with the same story and retaining some old levels with minor tweeking. And of course it would be canon to the movies
The gun box at the beginning has it's pivot point set to swing on the z axis instead of the y axis. I've played around with CE's version of GUIapp and it was easy to fix. I believe it's a common issue on the beta 96 levels, I find it odd that in the release most of the supply boxes just had the doors removed, I assume to bypass the bugged doors which is weird since it was pretty easy to get them working.
hey klayton, love your content. Quick note though, as a costar Rican, one pet peeve that we have about the original Jurassic park is that there are absolutely no beaches near San Jose, this province is located in the mainland and is surrounded by other provinces. Not complaining, just wanted to point it out since it's a common misconception brought up by the movie.
Isn't this actually the second video game incarnation of a geothermal power plant on Sorna? At least that's what I took the underground facility in the hunter and raptor campaigns of the PS1/Saturn game to be. Love that game, so I hope you'll consider doing a video on the ways it attempted to expand the JP lore, with all the different biomed, and those amazingly sinister intro movies full of little Easter eggs (I think BioSyn gets referenced, among other things).

According to the original movie, yes. However, it was cutting it VERY close. He knew he was very likely going to have to come up with an excuse or 10 as to why he was late coming back. According to all of the new stuff we have gotten including maps, no. Or rather, When Spielberg came up with an 18 minutes figure, he looked at the map, didn't think too much about it, and said "Eh, good enough." Its only when people started planning it out that it was revealed how impossible it was.
@@SImrobert2001 thanks for that. I'm glad I wasn't the only one. So many factors including trip to the embryos, the garage and trip to the docks AND back to the control room. Had they said 18 min from control room to docks. I might have accepted it as. But thanks for clearing that up for me.
