Playing FFXIV from A Realm Reborn to Endwalker over the course of 9 months was the absolute greatest adventure I have EVER had in playing video games for 35+ years. Best story. Best characters (especially villains). Best music. And to have a single narrative arc spanning almost a decade... wow. Final Fantasy has always and will always be my favorite franchise. I love this game like a man loves a woman lol.
@roberto ricardo its the theme to a certain zone in the shadowbringers expansion. When it came out it was a big hit in the west. And also if you're low on funds give the free trail a go! It's all of the base game plus the first expansion and you don't have to pay a dime.

Shadowbringer is the Wrath of the Lich King expansion of FFXIV: game changing and Innovative mechanics, mold-breaking maps, worlds better story than previous expansions, and iconic music. 10/10
Only problem with that take is Endwalker didn't trip over itself that like Cataclysm did lol. FFXIV is still going strong although we don't really know where the story can go next.
The entire ending of Shadowbringers, the climax of the fight, Ardbert lending you the strength to do another step... words can't describe it... everyone should experience this

Like the music really hit me in Amh Araeng, just so ghostly and ethereal and you really felt like you were on another world, a dying world, where only disembodied voices echo across the sands. That menacing wave of solid light on the horizon, like it's lying dormant and waiting to finish off what remains of the meager survivors scrabbling for some semblance of normalcy in a post-apocalypse. A land haunted by ghosts and demons that were once your family and friends.

The music of the final boss of the Nier raid is for me the most epic sound I eard in a final fantasy. You can imagine and put every single fight with it and it fits well °p°

Endwalker was an emotionally fulfilling journey, replete with sadness and joy, but I still don't think anything will ever compare to the very first moments I stepped into the First. From the cutscene in Holminster Switch, which absolutely rocked my perspective, all the way up to the finale with Emet-Selch, everything about Shadowbringers was so tightly themed and written. "Light and Dark" and the deconstruction of the traditional concept of taijitu has been in the storywriting zeitgeist for a long time, but Shadowbringers was the first time that a game so coherently conveyed that the dark and the light do not necessarily align with our pre-established notions of them. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, except in true XIV fashion, it wasn't simply "power," it was the belief in purity of one's actions. You can do everything you are ever told but if you don't dare to shift perspective you will never know what your actions can create. That's why the Light came in the form of a flood. Ripples created tidal waves. "We did everything right and still we failed."
oh yes Luis Perez - that Soundtrack really hits - I'm always amazed how many times Soken can reuse the same musical theme and still carry completely different emotions and scales of epicness with it :D simply stunning

This mix remind me my first time in Shadowbringer story... That a shock ! I've never been so surprised of a game plot :o I remember my first step in this devastated land, first encounter, first fight... And the music give a strong feeling of despair and useless battle but damn... In my opinion Shadowbringer was the best "final fantasy" story and rivalize with ease against single player opus

This mix remind me my first time in Shadowbringer story... That a shock ! I've never been so surprised of a game plot :o I remember my first step in this devastated land, first encounter, first fight... And the music give a strong feeling of despair and useless battle but damn...
In my opinion Shadowbringer was the best "final fantasy" story and rivalize with ease against single player opus

1:14:26 huh...at first I saw the lightning and horse like body and thought it was gonna be Ixion....then I saw the old man and thought 'Ok, maybe also Ramuh'....turns out it was some weird fusion of both. Plus he has wings, so it could be argued that they tried to mash in Quezecotal for a combination of all the lightning aspected summons from Final Fantasy. Odd
