SAVED BY THE BELL (2020): When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many underfunded high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state - including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the privileged Bayside kids (who never have a problem that can't be solved in twenty-two minutes) a much-needed dose of reality.
SAVED BY THE BELL (1989): Saved By The Bell (originally Good Morning, Miss Bliss), features six enterprising, adventurous teenage students with inventive schemes and mischievous dreams. Oh for heaven's sake. That's completely subjective. Yes, Zack obsessed over Kelly as an infant, but there are plenty of moments throughout the show where it becomes clear that Kelly fell in love with him just as much. She literally told him "there's no way Paris could ever compete with you." And their College Years moments were very romantic (none of which are in this video, unfortunately)
Also, you could say the same thing about Jessie and Slater. That was a completely toxic relationship where every time Slater tried to impress her, she would yell that he was a "sexist macho pig." At least Kelly never criticized Zack like that.

Dude, Kelly was mad at Zack for not being committed to her and hitting on other girls, but she was the one falling for older guys when Zack wanted to go steady. Kelly was only in high school when she met Jeff; I'm not even sure if it was legal to date him!

Why did you not include 'The College Years' season? Many of their best moments came from that era. Also, Kelly studied to be a doctor at that point and it really sucks that you didn't keep the continuity of that in the reboot.

That show was my life growing up. I'm almost 40 and takes me back to the 10year old watching Saved By The Bell.

You can always tell the woke viewers who have watched SBTB for the first time, because they focus on how "unhealthy" the couples were. People take things way too seriously now. Zack having a cardboard cut-out of Kelly was intended as a harmless comedic romantic gesture and was meant to illustrate that she was The One for him since they were kids. Y'all need to stop applying PC rules to 30 year old shows.

@@Irishgui83 Uh, the reboot did that itself. Did you not watch any of it? How about Slater being forced to apologize to Jessie just for calling her "Mama" 30 years ago? I hate the woke aspects but they stick out like a sore thumb. Zack and Kelly's characters also suffered because of it
By today's standards, there's plenty to critique. But, this is not about this day's "standards " and "beliefs." This was a product of the 90s. Many of us grew up watching Saved By The Bell. It's 90s nostalgia all the way and I love it for that.
Not sure what to think about the Saved By The Bell for this generation. I guess it's a product of its time too.
No matter how "healthy/unhealthy " or "realistic/unrealistic " the show components are/aren't, the show was a popular and much enjoyed sitcom in its own time. And for the most part, though definitely has some questionable content, it was/is a good clean show for the entertainment of our younger selves.
Many of today's teen sitcoms cannot claim the same. It was also free of politics and the like. It was made purely for entertainment for kids, preteens, and teens.
It has strong nostalgic value for 80s and 90s kids. Many of us have a fond place in our hearts for the characters, plots, and love stories presented.
I never noticed how bad of a girlfriend Kelly was. Zach deserved better.

@@Lionel4482 Well Jeff was good looking but he wasn't Zack Morris. And the writers kept trying to get Kelly to date other guys other than Zack Morris. Kelly knows deep down inside she still loves Zack but too me Lisa seem more like a better pick for him or even Jesse maybe because they've known Zack longer. Not only that Lisa would of been the first African American he ever dated in history but I rather see Zack with Lisa or Jesse than Kelly in a way. The same with Slater I rather see him with either Kelly or Lisa than Jesse no offense but Jesse's mean especially towards Slater. And every loving couple argue but not to the extreme the way Slater and Jesse did my goodness.

Most likey from the ones that shipped him and Kelly being end game. Personally I wouldn't have minded if Nikki returned some how and stole his heart back too, but that could never be.

I was waiting for peacock to make a Zack and Kelly video! Love it! However, they forgot to put in any clips from the college years. It's a big part of their story as that is when they got back together and engaged. Maybe a part 2 with those clips will be coming?
I know, I'm also angry about that. How on earth can they leave out the season where they get engaged? They don't even acknowledge in the reboot that Kelly studied to be a doctor in College.
@@iluvlafferty Exactly!! Its a big part of their story. Yeah the new show kind of forgets about the college years too unfortunately. They focused on the characters and how the were way back in the early seasons of the original show. Maybe because the college years aren't as popular as a whole with fans( Even though they are my favorite)? But I do know they will throw in at least one college years focused scene in season 2 of the new show(by the sneak peaks the cast posted while filming)! Fingers crossed its great!
@@reneeb8840 I'm convinced that they deliberately ignored the College season because one of the reboot writers (Dashiel, I think?) runs the youtube channel called 'Zack Morris is Trash' and he only focused on the high school years. I hate that the Zack and Kelly who we see in the reboot seem so shallow compared to how they werein the College years. They write these two as if they never grew up beyond high school. Kelly's hard work of studying medicine in the College era is completely ignored. Just because Jessie and Lisa weren't in the College season, doesn't mean it isn't canon. Z/K get married because of their College reunion. Also, why did Peacock use a pic of their wedding in the thumbnail of this video if they're not going to show the wedding?
@@iluvlafferty Yes I agree with you!! I don't think it has to do with Dashiel though. He only wrote one episode out of the 10. It's a decision probably made by the showrunner Tracy Wigfield. I think they were going for a more funny take instead of a realistic take of where they would be now unfortunately. It's more in step with the Jimmy Fallon skit. Most longtime fans agree they wanted more of a realistic take on the originals and where they would be now. However, I can still appreciate it done this way too. I think it was hard too because in season 1 Tiffani and Mark-Paul had contracts with other networks. It limited the amount they could be in it. This year we won't have that complication. I hope season 2 gives us a little more of the realistic view of Zack and Kelly and less silly. Oh and they need another kid or two too. Even Tiffani herself said she thought they'd have like 4 by now. sigh.

I always loved Saved By The Bell. Although I think it's sad that Dustin Diamond is in only one scene. I know they had their problems, but even death could have brought them together and show respect for the memories they had. I know SBTB gave me good memories growing up.
