Discovered Sharkbite when I remodeled my bathrooms. Amazing product as long as you make sure you debur the end of the pipe thoroughly. It's been close to 10 years now and no leaks,
I used them to add a whole house water filter...so easy to do, works great, no leaks either years later.
I work maintenance for la quinta inns & suites,shark bite got me out of some tight spots.
Nothing beats shark bite except actual plumbing work.
Sharkbite fittings work. I’ll keep using them. I like the people saying it’s not “real” plumbing. It’s what the professional plumbers use. 🤷🏻♀️

I use this for copper all the time now. It's good, + much less of a PITA than torches and solder and Flux.
You got that right. These are the best when you are working in the lower area of a building and can't get that persistent water drip to shut the BLEEP off.

Max takes 250lbs pressure. Regular is 200 lbs.

Hi Tanner! Standard ASSE 1061 no longer requires a tube liner for PEX. When using on HDPE SDR-9 pipe, a tube liner is required and needs to be supplied by the pipe manufacturer. When transitioning from CTS to polybutylene pipe with SharkBite Max, a tube liner is required and included on the polybutylene side (gray collar). When you push it on a less than round pipe, it leaks all over the place and cost $70 for the tool to take it off.
Lowe’s sells the removal tool for $2.58 (plus tax)
No idea what you bought for $70, but it wasn’t the tool you needed.
@@jpe1 I see that that’s good to know. I was looking at the blue pliers 3/8 of an inch to 1 inch removal tool for $64.60.
Mine came with the tool to remove. And always cut your pipe straight and de bur and clean before connecting.
Glad this ad came up so i can vent about how many hours ofmy life sharkbite has wasted. Just use clamps. Save yourself the hassle

It worked well for me, BUT... I would have liked my first time SharkBite experience MUCH better if the either the packaging or the video had noted that the SharkBite Max does not have the inserts like the previous version did, so I unnecessarily returned a good coupling thinking it was missing the inserts. Another negative experience: The packaging on the 90 degree elbow #U4248LFA (not Max series) does NOT give any installation instructions (except pictorial), and certainly noting saying the inserts are color coded with the gray-insert side of the elbow only being good for polybutylene pipe. So you find out on the web when at home that you bought the wrong fitting, as all you wanted to do was connect PEX to copper. (The package cryptically says PB in small bold letters on it; sadly there are no written instructions alerting you to what it can and cannot be used on.) More wasted time on an otherwise good product because simple instructions in English are missing on the packages.
