This is really amazing. And I mean that, it would be almost impossible to find a contractor that would be willing to go this deep and do this kind of work. Pest control companies don’t have see snakes. And plumbing companies aren’t going to excavate underneath a slab to get to a broken tee wye. So crazy what you guys do. And 1000% right why you earn the big bucks. Nobody else is doing all this as far as I know. You guys are awesome

In my area, lots of plumbing companies will dig under a slab to repair a line like this. Most of them won't tunnel an entire house to replace all the pipes but doing spot repairs is not all that unusual.

@@rogermccaslin5963 The point is plumbing companies won't know where to repair. I've hired one before and got 3 others to quote. Their investigations involved a visual look see plus a guesstimate. I hoped and prayed their work had fixed the problem but they did not have an affirmative answer. It continued to "leak" for several months after the job although not as bad as it was. I think after a year it stopped? I'll just assume it was because the disturbed soil took time to settle.

I do the same type of work these guys do. We have smoke testing equipment and cameras with locating functions to pinpoint these types of problems. Sometimes you only get in the ballpark to the source of the leak due to access issues so you end up having to approximate where the problem is and work from there to the source.
It sounds like you used plumbing companies that weren't equipped for the task at hand.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to say here but it seems as though you think I am taking a shot at the twins when nothing could be further from the truth. I respect their efforts to solve problems for their customers. I watch their videos because I'm interested in how others do the same type of work that I do. I have learned a couple of things from them and I'm sure they could learn a couple of things from me.
I was only pointing out that other people do this type of work and Peter and Jaze, the commentors, may have gotten the wrong people on their job.
As for how advanced my company is, I have about $20K in camera equipment, three residential sized smoke generators and one sized for municipal work (fits over a manhole). I do diagnostic work for some of the largest pest control and plumbing companies in South Florida. We work in venues from single family homes to condos to hospitals and public schools among other things.

I think rats can sense where heat is coming from and there they chew out of the pipe in the direction of the heat, and end up under or near the bathtub or shower stall. Rats noses have masses of sensor nerves in them, which can detect heat and home in on it. Great work guys. Isn't it great, a great bonus, that as a rat-catcher you also learn to become a contortionist who can fit into small, cramped spaces like Houdini. You become a caver, a contortionist, and a high-climber who climbs up high ladders to find rat holes on roofs. Have you thought of quitting rat-catching and becoming full-time rat-dancers? Doing the rat dance in night clubs for big bucks $$$$$$$$$$$,

7:47 venturi effect vacuum pump. tiny rust hole or not perfect fitting seal that happens to be in a wall void that can get outside air pulled into it from outside. The flow of water in the main sewer lines causes a small suction that pulls in fresh air anywhere the pipe isn't perfectly sealed. so the rats just walk around till they smell fresh air and chew through there. Ideally, that should be the ceiling vent at the end of the line, yet maybe the rats know there are nothing but predators on the roof so they dig around lower down where fresh air leaks in. OK, myth busters will probably find some technicality or other method, yet that is my two farthings of a random thought.

Theres a hundred and four days of summer vacation,
'Til school comes along just to end it,
So the annual problem for our generation,
Is finding a good way to spend it
    Like maybe
Building a rocket, or fighting a mummy,
Or climbing up the Eiffel tower,
    Discovering something that doesnt exist,
Or giving a monkey a shower
    Surfing tidal waves, creating nanobots,
    Or locating Frankensteins brain,
Finding a Dodo bird, painting a continent,
    Or driving our sister insane!
This could possibly be the best day ever,
(This could possibly be the best day ever)
And the forecast says that tomorrow will likely be a million and six times better.
So make every minute count, jump up, jump in, and seize the day,
And lets make sure that in every single possible way,
Today is gonna be a great day!
Crossing the tundra or building a roller coaster.
Skiing down a mountain of beans,
Devising a system for remembering everything,
    Or synchronizing submarines.
Racing chariots, taming tiger sharks, constructing a portal to Mars,
Building a time machine, stretching a rubber tree, or wailing away on guitars.

Today is gonna be a great day!
Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
Lets put our heads together and design a master plan.
We may miss dinner, but I know mom will understand
We've got our mission and some pliers, yogurt, gumballs, and desire.
And a pocket full of rubber bands, the manual on handstands,
A unicycle, compass, and a camera that won't focus,
And a canteen full of soda. Grab a beach towel, here we go!

Hi twins! It’s embarrassing to admit it but we have a massive rat problem in my house….I came from using the bathroom and I saw this absolutely massive rat eating away at dog food that is up high….they’ve chewed thru the floor and made a massive hole behind our washer…and behind the sink they have a hole they come into they usually nest under the sink or the over. We’ve had a exterminator come out awhile ago they left for a long time then came right back we’ve tried traps but we would catch one and they would just multiply. Please give me tips or help it’s getting out of hand😢

    • @sugarsore
      @sugarsore 2 роки тому

Remove all food sources for them! Keep the dog food in a container that the rats can't get into. Close off any entry points that you can find that they are coming in from. Only then will setting traps potentially be effective.
My knowledge is very basic. Someone else might have much better advice.

    • @rogermccaslin5963
      @rogermccaslin5963 2 роки тому

First, don't be embarrassed. You are not alone in this and it is most likely not from something you did. I run into this in some of the most expensive homes in the country (Palm Beach, FL). Cleanliness, or a lack of it, is really not the most relevant thing. These little bastards are actively looking for a place to live and you just happen to be the next in line.
There are two ways rats can be entering your home - holes in the envelope or holes in the plumbing. Holes in the envelope could be along the ground or up on the walls or roof. Holes could be man-made or made by nature (rats chewing through, rot, settling, etc.). The envelope also includes doors and windows. Obvious places are around machinery (A/C, pumps, etc. that have penetrations through the walls). Crawl space vents, soffit vents, and attic vents are common entry points. You need to seal everything up. The stronger the sealing material, the better. 1/4" wire mesh and cement are good choices. Spray foam isn't.
If they are coming through the plumbing, as seen in this video, smoke testing is the most effective method to determine the location of the failed pipe.
If you don't seal up the entry point, they will keep coming. Also, if you seal the entry and they are stuck in the home, you need to keep traps armed and baited for 2-3 weeks to catch them and rid the home of your dirty little furry friends.
