Regarding the 8years Engagement question, it could also be that they started dating early at 14 und 15yrs old so 8 yers later they are just 22 and 23 and it's pretty a young age to be engaged and Married, so the situation is also understandable

I’ve been with my boyfriend for 6 years and we have a baby together but im not engaged. We’ve had endless conversations on marriage and our plans for our future and i have a promise ring. Im in no rush for a “label” really. He calls me his wife already 😂. Every one has different views on it ofc but i know where we stand in our relationship. And thats all that matters.

Two of the question I am going through myself. I have been in an 8-year relationship, and we are still just dating .... and also, we don't hang out with his family anymore because they have an unknow issue with me. I have tried to ask them what the problem is, and they have not explained what I did to them. I have told my man to go spend time with his family, but he refuses until they give him a reason why they are treating me the way they have been for almost a year now.

Some people’s ideals of marriage are different, some people find marriage a must and very important to a relationship, others don’t find marriage to be a necessity in order to have a fulfilling relationship. However they should communicate to find out what’s going on and come to an understanding
