''Tornado'' by AbstractDark | Geometry Dash 2.2

Tornado is one of those levels that are really brought to life due to the sum of all its parts. Every section here has something completely different to offer while keeping itself connected and grounded.
The beginning reminds me of the times when you're walking home, you're about to arrive when you suddenly start to hear thunder above you and it begins raining. The sense of urgency and uncertainty are nailed here. Going into the ruined castle and being able to hear the rain hitting the rooftop and the flashes of lightning through the cracks, the wind coming rushing in when you open the hatch, this is the life I was talking about.
After this it only gets crazier, once the tornado forms and you can see it in the distance, the feeling of urgency turns into fear, since you're swept up and now have to jump between what's left of the ruins, dodging giant rocks flying your way. It's all done beautifully, from a gameplay and a design standpoint. And we can't underrate the importance of sound effects and music, which play a huge part here as well.

I'm still flabberghasted by how awesome this level's environmental and visual storytelling is, the tornado scene specifically gave me some serious Far: Lone Sails vibes, which is already one of the most atmospheric games of all time.Insane stuff.
