@7:13 the first electric train seen in Cardiff Central. That beats Friedrichshafen Stadt. Only after December 2021, is the section between Ulm and Friedrichshafen Stadt (also a branch to Friedrichshafen Hafen / Zeppelin Museum), as well as from Friedrichshafen Stadt to Lindau Insel (formerly Hbf), driveable with electric locomotive-pulled trains and EMUs, as the new electrification despite being live, has not been certified for use with electric trains. Already the new section from Lindau-Reutin to Geltendorf and eventually Munich Hbf is electrified and the ETR 610s / RABe 503 "Astoro" EMU trains are operating. On 20th July this year, I rode from Lindau-Reutin to Munich Hbf on such a train, the ride was very comfortable. I remember as far back as July 1997, the first time going from Munich Hbf to Zurich Hbf, between Geltendorf and Lindau Hbf there was no electrification and the train had to be pulled by two DB 218 diesel locomotives, and pulled the rest of the way with SBB 421 RE4/6 dual-pantograph electric locomotives. Another thing to note, is that in Hergatz, only two of the three platforms are electrified, on 13th December 2020 I would hate to have been one of the signalers for the inaugural run for the ETR 610 Astoros. A northbound train ended up on that one platform that was not electrified and the pantograph was damaged, and the train had to be pulled by a DB 218. Cardiff Central kind of has a situation like Hergatz. As of yet, I do not know the electrification situation between Friedrichshafen, Radolfzell and Konstanz, as I have not been on that particular rail section. Despite Konstanz Hbf having cateneries, I cannot say how far into Germany they go, most electric trains go to Winterthur and points in the canton of Thurgau.
If you keep an eye on my channel I am hopefully, weather permitting, filming a look at the stations in Cardiff many of which are no more. You were right by Riverside and Parade on your travels. And Cardiff Bay was a lot bigger when it was Bute Road.
19:07 This bird is how we all felt back in June
So much going on. Video is spot on.

I always enjoyed the Welsh announcements, even though I don’t understand anything

Network Rail should continue on with the electrification to Swansea so that electric trains can go all the way from London Paddington to Swansea.
I agree. But that decision ultimately rests with Grant Shapps and the DfT
@@DavidFrankal Ok. Hope he does allow it to happen.
