- It’s been two years since John Rustad parted ways with the BC United Party over differences about climate change science. Regarding the reason for his removal from the party, Kevin Falcon is quoted as saying, “Climate change is one of the most critical threats facing our future.” And he added that Rustad “does not speak on behalf of [the] caucus on this issue.”
Six months later, John Rustad took over the leadership of the BC Conservative Party. At the time, the party was without a sitting member of the legislature. At the time of publishing this interview there were four. Rustad and the BC Conservative party’s rankings are soaring in the polls.
Who is John Rustad and what is his vision for British Columbia, should he do the seemingly impossible and win the next election? We invited John Rustad to join us for a Conversation That Matters about his agenda for British Columbia.

A very thoughtful discussion! John Rustad's ideas sound like a breath of fresh air! Change is never easy, but we need to get back to some strong, ethical values and common sense! Things have been pushed into the realm of crazy for many years, and I hope the pendulum is finally going to swing back into reality!
I heard no strong ethical values or common sense in this video. What I heard are policies that are detached from what evidence and data tell us and based in fear.
As if cow farts and fertilizer were the biggest problems on the planet 🌍, maybe opening up the conversation on this and many other issues would be a step in the right direction. Canada is so off track, it’s really time for a change in direction!
Hopefully BC votes smart and not NDP!

11:50 "Irresponsibility in spending". In 2000 Alberta and Washington State were booming while BC floundered. NDP drives investment dollars away because of spending outside our means. No family can do that. Why elect a government that doesn't live within it's means?

Also the conservatives are the last group of people I would trust to protect my safety from anybody. Trans women and girls aren't a threat to me. If anything, cisgender men are.

Living in Abbotsford for 25 years we believe the green agenda but it’s not everything the lower mainland is too expensive we now live in Fort Nelson and honestly WE need forestry management right away and we need our lng to market we need our cn rail yard accessible time to flourish again enough depressing stuff to for change 😊
BC is about to change. I fully support your statement of poor forest management being the issue in chief driving the wildfire picture rather than climate change.
The argument is akin to a discussion on diabetes, where sugar is applied for either diabetic condition, and a broader range of modified harvest along with timely using fire in fuel modification programs is a solution regardless of the climate question.
I think the days of harvest and run are gone, that is an industrial golden age passed. It’s become obvious that a forest has to be managed for more than corporate dollars.
Seeing the past meet the future do I need to pay you? No. I’m not paying for these blatant fuck ups. There’s work everywhere for me and the system is the barrier. I’m not going to pay for a fear program. You put us to gainful work and you get paid. Period.
I hope Mr Rustad will stop drugs destroying people and give the jobs for health care worker back without the registry to monitor their immunizations including the virus

I disagree with you on the issue of supporting Multiculturalism, John, and by extension Diversity/Equity/Inclusion....these 2 policies are designed to REPLACE Old Stock Canadians and OUR CULTURE & IDENTITY. Max Bernier is correct ... exchange Multiculturalism for Pluralism.
