Ian Svenonius led 90's band with this fantastic 45 from 1999.... wow 1500 views if anyone has any requests for any Make Up song's let me know and I'll put them up!!!!!
I saw them as Weird War at Black Cat in DC 2005-ish. One of the best show's I ever saw. Energy for days. Ian put a microphone in his mouth and started flying around the stage during the song. Screaming like a banshee the entire time.
1979 references the Angolan Civil War; 1961 seems to be a creative dating of JFK's assassination in Dallas [in 1963]; 1917 obviously refers to the October (Russian) Revolution; 1908 seems to be another creative dating of the mutiny on the battleship Potemkin [during the Russian Rvolution of 1905], immortalized in Eisenstein's film. Personally, I'd enjoy an extended version with a few more verses: born in 1863 ("Working-Men of Manchester's" letter to Lincoln and the Emancipation Proclamation), born in 1793 (Year One of the Jacobin Revolution), born in 1649 (the Levellers' "Agreement of the People" and Charles I beheaded)...
this is so beautiful, brings memories of youth and exciting musical discoveries to me

Underrated comment 👏
Patrice Lumumba was murdered in 1961, in a Western backed coup in Congo.
Still pretend artsy trash. This was the only catchy song they had.
