Idk I'm not a fan of blue shading on black all the time. Occasionally I'm for it but sometimes I really like the aesthetic of a nice jet black and the contrast of the white

I just pick this guy up last weekend. I love the whole vintage set. I hope they continue the line.
Imo a reason there is no blue shading is that these figures are trying to mimic the appearance of that original marvel line as close as they can. As a kid I had the punisher this was based on, you put caps in his back and they smoked and he looked exactly just like this with the black and white. So in that sense it's a success in keeping the original look while modernising the body. Yes it's a cost cutting thing and yes I would love a later figure on a better body with the blue shading but as a pure nostalgia kicker I think they made the right call here.
+Lionsden99 maybe if they actually made the figure look like the original you'd have a point but it really doesn't. The only thing that looks like the original is the color scheme. It just boils down to these being mostly lazy, cheep figures to maximize profits. Can't even get appropriate head sculpts you go with these repaints with virtually no paint.
AnthonysCustoms minus a couple gray stripes (which never made sense on the original) I think he's pretty close actually. I'm not disagreeing saying this line isn't a whole giant cash grab but as basically a variant line that fixes a few issues and rides a nostalgia gimmick I think it's fair. And if ML pulling this kind stunt once in a while with guaranteed popular characters means I'm able to get characters like Paladin and Prowler who might not sell well in their other lines, I'm pretty okay with it.

I know this figure is just a relaxing but I like it, I added the toybiz blade coat and wow, a great classic punisher

I agree ,I wish mine came with the blue shading , accents on it ..just like the new venom .. but hopefully they'll do that next time a new Retro punisher comes around.
Whew, that head....geez. Even though the body is a great sculpt I wouldnt mind it being a bit bulkier. I also dont understand why they didnt give this release some unique accessories.

Putting that rocket launcher into his hand is a pain (luckily I was able to fit it in without warning his hands). I find it funny that I found this at my local Walgreens but haven't found the Walgreens exclusive one.

This is a dirt cheap figure like 12 bucks on amazon so if u are on a buget buy.
Passing on this wave. The same figs we already have in a package we already had with no BAF few accessories and a full price. Hasbro is just greedy.

I dunno... they're offering a re-release of slightly older, harder to find at retail figures. I do wish they'd done a bit more (ie: releasing the Vault Spidey instead of the Pizza Spidey or an Ironman with better articulation) but for those that weren't into Marvel Legends when these guys first came out, this isn't too bad. I've never had a comic based Black Widow, so I'm excited to get her. The rest I'll probably pass on, but I like the possibilities this line presents. Maybe we'll finally get a classic Hawkeye without a metal arm or the AOU Hulk with the Thor Ragnarok Head? Or... maybe we'll get nothing else and this is it. Whatever happens, happens.
Michael Mulligan even the pizza spidey doesn't come with his extra hands. A "Black Widow" with MJ head? Wolverine with the same issue claws and a craptastic unmasked head. Punisher with nothing new and he was just released this year warming Walgreens pegs. Another Wolf Cap. And iron man from how many years ago that missed the mark then. It's a insulting wave. I'm not buying this shit and I've bought Multiverse. This is just greed.
I think the wave as a whole is eh, but I missed out on the original wolverine release, and now I have my wolverine! But again I do think this wave is just eh
The only thing I disagree with you on is the "greed" part being a bad thing. This wave isn't for you, but that's not really a bad thing for any body. You save some money by not buying toys you already own/aren't interested in and Hasbro sells these things to people that do actually want them without spending as much as they normally would have on a new wave. Those profits go towards future figures that you do want. Businesses are greedy, that's how they operate. That doesn't make them evil though.
You make a good point with the paint. If they wanted to make the vintage line work why not give it the treatment with paint if not extra accessories? A recent example being the Cyclops & Dark Phoenix two pack look great even though mostly re-use.

Do his smaller heads fit better on any other bucks? I think his bandana head would make a perfect Solid Snake custom head, but not on this body. Maybe the Spidey 2099 or Spider UK body? If anyone knows I'd love some feedback.

I actually like the figure but yeah there are some obvious faults. I got it for $12 on eBay, because I wanted a classic Punisher. If people already have the Walgreens version it’s a pass, but if they want a classic Punisher go for it.
